Tony G - ATL - Going forward (1 Viewer)

1) Is he officially retired/retiring?

2) If he is/does, is Toliolo the guy there in the future? Has he done anything/enough to make them not draft a TE?

3) I can see Amaro or S-Jenkins being a nice fit in the ATL.

what do you all think? I see Toliolo's name being tossed around in my league as trade bait(dyansty league, ppr). I never had interest in him before. Should I now?

In all seriousness, I wish he'd play until he actually couldn't. It would be interestig to see how high he can push his career #'s.

99% sure he's done - there was more of a farewell vibe the last few games that wasn't there the year before (granted the year before ended in the playoffs)

Toilolo probably gets the first crack at this, but I didn't see a whole lot from him.

I doubt they draft a TE in the first 5 rounds - need help on both lines.

I thought I heard during the final week that he might consider returning late next year if the Falcons were in the playoff hunt and wanted him back. I think the odds of him playing anymore are pretty low though.

For my money, the greatest TE to ever suit up. Sad it took me 10 years to really start appreciating his efforts.

0% chance he's coming back. Like so many others, he's going out on a low note due to spending his last season on a horrible, horrible team. Would've been nice to see him get some spotlight on a winning club.

Glad he came back though, I would've wondered if he hadn't. Atlanta looked great to start the season.

Doesn't sound like a guy that's coming back...

"I absolutely could," Gonzalez said. "But it's the end of the road for me. I put everything out there and I'm completely satisfied.

"I don't have any regrets and I look forward to what's next."

Gonzalez headed for retirement after last season's loss to the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game, then reversed course and made this season's encore effort for the Falcons.

Atop Gonzalez's to-do list — aside from a potential career in broadcasting and/or the health industry — is to spend more time with his 12-year-old son Nikko, who recently won a Pop Warner championship in his first season playing tackle football.

"They won the whole thing in LA and I missed it," Gonzalez said. "I'm not going to let that happen again. I'm going to be there for him."

"If there was a football team in LA, maybe I'd consider coming back. I can't take any more time away from him."

No chance he comes back... Only reason he played was bc ATL was a few points short of the Super Bowl last year. He's a true warrior and wanted to win a Super Bowl. He's no idiot, he knows they aren't a few tweaks from a ring.
