I mean, was there any doubt? Getting that close after not getting a shot his entire career, and still having it in the tank for one more shot, but he just walks away? This is no Barry Sanders story, Gonzo is going to give it another go. Fantasy owners/Falcons fans rejoice.

The early timing of Gonzo's decision, instead of letting ATL twist in the wind through the free agency period, helps the Falcons a lot (unlike a certain QB in Mississippi who used to let things drag on and on and on just so he could avoid offseason work).
Further increases the chances Stephen Jackson will choose to sign with ATL too. His 'contender' criteria just got a nice bump.
