How much does Gonzo have left? If Roddy and Julio can stay healthy the middle will be wide open. Can he stay healthy? Can he have a better year than last year? Give me your projection.
Because?I wouldn't be against him any more. I think he repeats last years numbers with a slight drop. I would be nervous as hell to draft him though
Age. I'd rather be a year too early than a year late. That would bother me late in the season.Because?I wouldn't bet against him any more. I think he repeats last years numbers with a slight drop. I would be nervous as hell to draft him though
Sure, but I'd combine him with a guy like Cook, Rudolph, or Kendricks.Age. I'd rather be a year too early than a year late. Tamme would be a nice upside play behind Gonz within three rounds of each other.Sure, but I'd combine him with a guy like Cook, Rudolph, or Kendricks.Age. They have the same bye week.Tamme would be a nice upside play behind Gonz within three rounds of each other.
No, Peyton would have been.if you went back in time to 1998, would he be worth the #1 overall dynasty pick?
he only missed 2 games and is still a ff starting TE today. he would have given you a huge advantage through the first half of his career before the nfl caught on to these pass catching TEs.
It was 1997, but there's no question he'd be the 1.01. During his time in KC from age 23-32 he was only lower than the #3 TE and #32 overall player once. That other season? 2005 - he was the #7 TE and #45 overall player and still 2nd in catches and yards (behind Gates). The only thing he didn't have were TD's (2) from being on a team that only threw 17 TD passes. I think it's possible for his TD record to be broken (Gronkowski is on pace to break it by the time he's 28), but I doubt his receptions and yards will never be matched. He's already #2 in career receptions and if he plays next year he's within reach of passing Isaac Bruce for #3 all-time in receiving yards.if you went back in time to 1998, would he be worth the #1 overall dynasty pick?he only missed 2 games and is still a ff starting TE today. he would have given you a huge advantage through the first half of his career before the nfl caught on to these pass catching TEs.
"Ol Reliable" Just keeps delivering. Like anyone cares, but with him and a 3pt lead against Manning & Decker last night, he singlehandedly won my game. Tony G and Jason Hanson have been my best picks so far this year.'flapgreen said:I keep drafting him and he keeps delivering.![]()
My favorite Cal player of all time. It's great to see him still performing at a high level after so many years, and giving Vernon Davis a lesson on dunking over the crossbar."Ol Reliable" Just keeps delivering.'flapgreen said:I keep drafting him and he keeps delivering.![]()
December 17: http://aol.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2012-12-17/tony-gonzalez-retire-career-stats-te-rank-fantasy-start-falconsIs there any word on if he's retiring or not? Would like to use his spot on my last chance for the waiver wire this year if he is.
After 16 seasons of making catches and grinding out yards through the tough underbelly of defenses, he remains committed to being 95 percent sure he will not return. He restated that percentage after the Falcons throttled the New York Giants, 34-0, Sunday.
I'd imagine they draft him, though I hope Gonzo goes for a least another year or two. He can still play like the best of them.If I were Arthur Blank, i'd overpay for Gonzalez to stick around as Matt's security blanket. In a somewhat related matter re: waiver spots: Is his replacement on the team yet or do most of you falcons fans expect Atlanta to draft or sign a guy?
I don't think Gonzo is motivated by cash. For him it'll be whether he feels he wants to go through another season or not.Good article from back in February:http://www.accessathletes.com/blog/blogdisplay.cfm?/Tony-Gonzalez-QA-His-NFL-Career-Family--Life-After-Sports-667I'd imagine they draft him, though I hope Gonzo goes for a least another year or two.
