Tony Hunt (1 Viewer)

I think Hunt has a great chance to make some noise this year. Seems like Westbrook always misses time and I don't have alot of confidence in Buckhalter. I'm hoping not alot of guys in my dynasty leagues know about him as he has sleeper written all over him. Any thoughts?

I think Hunt will be a goalline back, but will also be in the game for some 3rd downs and some third and shorts. Greg Cosell from NFL Films said in the right offense, Hunt has Rudi Johnson like skills, but as long as Westbrook is healthy, Hunt will get limited opportunity.

This is just my opinion, but I've seen a lot of Hunt at PSU, and training camp. I don't think he has enough power to make up for his lack of explosion. He won't get many opportunities away from the goal line but he could vulture 6-10 TD's.

6-10 TDs makes him a decent #3 RB in my league....not bad for a guy you can steal at the end of a draft.

Nope not gonna happen. He's looked very sluggish in the pre-season games.
2 TDs last week early in the games - GL vulture?
Hunt will get 3 to 6 tds this year and about 250 yards in mop up role. Westbrook is the main piece of that offense and expect him to have another good year now that Andy Ried isn't calling the plays..

Use this info (above) to get what you want.Bear in mind that the preseason is for working on things and evaluation of talent. The Eagles wanted to see if Hunt could handle short yardage / goal line work. He was given those two chances and he succeeded vs. Carolina. Now, if you want to read into this that this is what Philly will ALWAYS do this season, be my guest - but I think you're wrong if you do that. They won't always bring in Hunt to try and pound it in. Philly often throws inside the 10, and Westbrook gives them the option to run or throw. (LJ Smith also gets a lot of targets here).Add to this that the Eagles are not often in goal line situations (Westbrook scored on longer runs more often than inside the 5 by a wide margin). He had 14 TDs including playoffs, and only 3 came inside the 5 (two 1-yard runs and one 4-yard catch).

Correll Buckhalter holds the Eagles rookie rushing record at 129-586-2. But that was with only Duce Staley (who got injured) ahead of him. Now Hunt has Westbrook and Buckhalter ahead of him. I doubt he will even come close to what Buckhalter did. If anything he'll see a similar workload to what Westbrook saw his rookie year 46-193-0.

good info - not counting on him being a yard machine but if he is a steady GL vulture may pop in enough TDs to make him valuable.

Looking back, I think I was way to high. I like 4-6 TD's.

6-10TDs sounds like a reach to me. Reid doesnt like to put alot on a rookies plate. Mcnabb is going to run a few in himself and look for a few play action passes to LJ at the goalline. Hunt is good for maybe 4 -6 but no way 6-10.
