TONY ROMO YOUTUBE PARODY (3 Viewers)

bigbottom

Footballguy
It's a Monday, and things have slowed a bit here in the Shark Pool, so I thought I'd start a thread here for those who don't get over to the FFA. I figure if the "Tom Brady face" thread is suitable for the SP when things are slow, this should be okay (mods, feel free to delete if this is not the case). Anyway, the latest release from bigbottom/BF83 productions is a tribute to Tony Romo and departed coach Bill Parcells.

Hope you enjoy it!

Shut up. You don't have to explain posting one of these. Don't you know you're a legend? Well done and as usual, hilarious. When does the cd come out?

Thanks. Just being careful. Posted an earlier tune here once and the thread was deleted. It was, however, a busy Sunday morning during the fantasy season. As for the CD, no record labels have come knocking just yet. I'm not holding my breath.

Bigbottom, I'm sure you have been told before but your Tom Brady tune is being played on repeats for highlights of the Herd show.

Excellent Work!

Nice job. This song suits your voice very well.

I'm not a Cowboys fan and was glad Seattle won at the time, but seeing those shots of Romo sitting on the field and then on the bench after the messed up hold made me feel bad for the guy. So I felt a weird mixture of humor pity as I watched the video.

Then you reminded me he's bedding down Carrie Underwood, and feeling sorry for him disappeared real quick.

Another awesome tune.

I love reading the comments from some of your other videos. :lmao:

Link
From your link to the Favre song comments:"Brett has more touchdown passes than this moron has albums sold."

:lmao:

I'm pretty sure I have as many touchdown passes as bigbottom has albums sold. So what?
Yeah, the posts from pissed off Packers fans were priceless. If you're gonna put this stuff out there, you've got to have a thick skin. I'm actually surprised the Emmit Smith tribute didn't generate more hate.

And thanks for the kind words everyone. For the record, I wrote this one with a few other FBGs - scoobygang, TANAC and Bob Sacamano.

You sir are a genius. Brilliant stuff.

I am a Cowboy fan - so Emmitt + Romo hurts a little, but keep up the good work. Just focus on the Redskins for a while would you?

Dearest Mr. Bigbottom:

Where did you website with all the parodies go? I need my fix. Please help.

XXXOOO

Husker.

Mr. Couch Potatoe

Thank you, but the youtube does not have it all - such as "Don't fear the pooper."

The whole list used to be at: http://www.scottyd3.com/parodies.

By the way, you are correct. I have not given adequate props to the writer/potatoe.

Sincerely,

Dan Quayle

I was teasing on the credit thing. I had my fun in the writing of my two parodies and having BB put them out there, not to mention just getting to know him a little. No worries. Credit for the Romo song goes elsewhere, it wasn't one I was involved in.BB does his football parodies as Bradyfan83, has some other stuff under another name I don't remember but you can do a YouTube search of "Chelsea's Mom" and find it, and some stuff with no video such as Pooper.

And it's "Potato" without the "e." Sheesh, still gettin' no respect, people gettin' the name wrong. :banned: Dan Quayle?!

This is not good, do we have a lawyer in the house?

I'm no lawyer, but I did get a legal opinion on something very similar to this.We posted this satire of Prince's halftime performance on asslete.com:

http://www.asslete.com/index.php?option=co...=view&id=37

The clip was also pulled by Youtube, at the request of Universal Music for copyright infringement. Several quick points to make.

1. Youtube is currently facing lawsuits for copyright infringement as some people post entire concerts, tv shows etc. As a result, youtube is cracking down on all such items, whether or not infringement occured.

2. I am told that the principles of "Fair Use" apply to satire/parody which should protect the Tony Romo song (and our article) from such claims

3. I simply moved my video to another source besides youtube. There are dozens of others...many of which are non US based, don't face the same scrutinization, and work just as well.

Bottom line. I think if you are just doing parody (especially without commercial gain) this shouldn't be a legal worry.

Hey Asslete,

Thanks for the good info and taking the time to post it.

The reason Kilgore Trout and I both mentioned the irony is that bigbottom is actually a lawyer himself (it's been mentioned in newspaper articles discussing the parodies so I'm not giving up private info by saying that). He investigated this stuff and came to the same conclusion you did before ever putting the parodies out there on YouTube. Your confirmation is a comfort, and I agree this is an overreaction on YouTube's part.
