Torrey Smith (1 Viewer)

Dynasty leagues...let's talk. Should I go get him? A fluke week for a future slot wr? Or a budding #1?
I drafted him in 3 dynasty leagues this year. He is a big time playmaker. He was in college and obviously he has shown today with not one, not two, but three TD receptions.Grab him. He will develop into a nice player.

Curious to know what the longest streak of consecutive catches for tds is? Never mind that those were the first 3 of his career.

Exactly. It's pretty amazing. Clearly, there's something unique to him that NFL corners let him do that 3 times straight on 3 straight catches. I couldn't watch but from comments he must be deceptively fast.

Without researching I'm going to guess Mike Vrabel, LB NE Patriots. His first 10 catches have been for TDs. Doubt that will get broken.SEASON GP REC YDS AVG LNG TD Career 10 14 1.4 2 10

Bad hammy already?

Smith suffered a hamstring injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Rams and seems unlikely to return, Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times reports.

His closest comp in my opinion is Roddy White. I don't do dynasty leagues, and probably won't drop Delone Carter for him, but he's nice flier in deeper leagues and a must-have in dynasty/semi-deep keeper.

Are you saying that he's on such a high level, he's incomparable to anyone else?

I wouldn't get too excited, Justin King was covering him and he's worse than terrible.
Sure, he burned King a few times (one, by the way, was incomplete off his finger tips in the endzone from 30 yards out). King was not the only one he burned though. On two other occassions, he blew right by the corner AND safety down the middle, one for 50 yards where Flacco just overthrew Smith (where he was fairly wide open) and the other was the 41 yard touchdown.

I'm no defensive guru by any stretch but didn't all those TDs involve single safety or receiver left slant patterns? It just seemed like they took their chances because Flacco saw something in the defense and took advantage. From what I remember from the STL/NYG game last week, Manning couldn't do anything short but had success up top against them.. Not to say that it won't happen again, but I just wouldn't count on it all season long. Could be a feast or famine guy..
