Torry Smith Touchdown (1 Viewer)

Just watching the New England Baltimore game. Torry Smith scores a touchdown. I looked at the play over and over and I can clearly see that Smith had the face mask of the New England defender and basically dragged him into the end zone. Did anyone else see this? This should have been a penalty right? Or because they called it a touchdown they only reviewed the touchdown itself. Or I guess that the official just did not see it.

I know you can't replay a penalty. I guess it was so obvious I think a penalty (Face Mask) should have been called. Just a call the official missed.

Did you guys just start watching football? Offensive ball carriers stiff arming defenders in the facemask is NEVER called.

I agree. This was a far bit more excessive than normal though. I mean he grabbed it and held it for 5 yds. I would think even as far as the officials try to skew things towards the offense that this would draw a flag. I guess not.

But if you are grabbing the facemask and pulling the defender with you what is that? You can clearly see Smith's arm is trailing behind him pulling the defenders facemask. That's all I'm saying.

Willis McGahee was called for facemasking earlier this year during a run, so the refs will call it.

Since when can you go to replay for a penalty?
Right, very few penalties can be reviewed, or handed out due to review. Most of them I can think of are reviewable because they relate to whether a line was reached. Illegal forward pass for throwing the ball beyond the line of scrimmage can be called or wiped away as a result of a review. Touching a kickoff before it has gone 10 yards would be another penalty that could be reviewed.
