Yes. By all accounts Perine is a great mentor to Jaleel (and even Javonte), solidly productive, and a good locker room vet presence all around. Broncos fans would hate to see him go but if they got a 5th in return IMO that would be worth it (assuming they go full rebuild and also clean house w/ Jeudy and Sutton et al)Good post. Our disagreement might be more about compensation vs. concept. What is your estimated trade value for Perine? My opinion was based on a 28 y/o RB not fetching anything higher than a 6th but could easily be wrong of course. Sounds like Cincy might want him at a premium relative to open market.Samaje Perine-another off-season signing but everyone in Denver, except maybe Surtain, is available and I think there is real smoke here as in we will be seeing several trades by Denver in next 3 weeks-which is almost being obvious at this point. Mentioned this yesterday which led so some disagreement but I'll double down. Bengals OC is openly saying they miss him, Denver clears cap space next season, Javonte's healthy and the Jaleel find makes living without him easier and one thing you got to give Payton credit for is he can find a RB anywhere.
IMO, I would think they would want to keep him this year for his pass protection skills alone. McLoughlin will probably improve but has gotten Wilson blown up at least once.
