What do you think of this trade? I will be getting Roy.

According to Yahoo, Roy is #37 and Hafner is #16. Going by that it is not even, but I dunno.

Hard to say without seeing your roster. If you need an arm and have plenty of sticks, go for it. Looks like Oswalt will have to pitch great to see a decent number of wins since the Astros in recent years have had trouble scoring runs.

OIswalt should havea year like he did last season. Hopefully Houston gets their bullpen in order. But Ii seriously doubt I'd give up Hafner to get him. Like others have said, it depends on the rest of your team and also your scoring system. For example, if you are in a league that has a triples catagory, then Hafner isn't as valuable as a league that only counts slugging, RBIs, and HRs.

Hafner is also a liablity since he can only play utility which gumms up any flexibility your lineup may have. Interseting trade offer without seeing the rosters.

Thanks for the responses. Okay, here's our scoring categories (it is Head to Head and there are a TON of categories).

Hitting categories:

R H 1B 2B 3B HR RBI SB CS BB IBB HBP K GIDP

Pitching categories:

IP W L CG SHO SV H ER BB IBB HBP K WP HLD WHIP

There is a 50 innings minimum requirement per week (and we have pretty large benches IMO).

My current SP:

Hamels, Mussina, Schmidt, Westbrook, C.Lee, Snell, Harang, Igawa

My starting bats:

Piazza ©, Pujols (1B), Lugo (2B), A.Ramirez (3B), C.Guillen (SS), M.Ramirez (OF), A.Jones (OF), J.Damon (OF), Hafner (UTIL)

Bench bats: Giambi, F.Thomas, Blalock, Durham

If you're concerned about your pitching then do it. You've got Giambi to put in Hafners place so you don't lose much. How many teams??

I would do it. Oswalt would be the best pitcher on your staff, by far in my opinion. With an offense that already has Pujols and Manny....and a suitable replacement in Giambi, this would make your team stronger.

NO

Hafner is a bonafide STUD and will be a contender for the MVP award. Oswalt is a good pitcher, but not elite.

Not elite? With Carpentar's balky elbow Oswalt is probably the #2 starter in the league. With Astros improved lineup he's as likely as anyone to get 20 wins.

no. you can get a better SP that that for Hafner. maybe zambrano or sheets.
wow that's an interesting comment. i wonder how many people put zambrano or sheets ahead of oswalt. i don't. i love zambrano and would call it pretty even. until sheets stays healthy i can't put him up there.
