Trade Lamont Now? (1 Viewer)

I'm wondering if I should try and trade Lamont Jordan now. His trade value couldn't be higher and I'm worried that the return of Dominic Rhodes will eat into his playing time.

On the other hand, I also think it will be hard to take the ball away from someone performing at Lamont's level right now.

What would you do/are you doing with him?

Jordan is a sell high candidate for THIS week. Remember though, most owners will see he has a bye week next week and Rhodes comes back after that amd will try and devalue the trade due to those two factores. You will still have the stats of him being the 2nd leading rusher in the league on your side though. So do it now, IF you do it. Personally, I'm not.As far as his production, Rhodes won't impact what he's done much, his back will though. If Kiffin is smart, he eleviates some of Jordan's work load in week 6, but continues to let him touch the ball 20-25 times a game, as long as he is healthy. Personally, I'm riding him out. If he goes from 120 yards a game to 100+ and a TD, he's still top 7, easy. Of course, I am a homer, plus the $$$ leagues I have Jordan in, I have Rhodes in too.Oh yeah, consider Jordan took a pay cut to stay with the team and he is out to prove he is THE RB on this team. His pride and his financial future rest on his performance this year.

Rhodes is the least of his worries. He'll give Jordan a breather here and there.

The bigger worry is Lamont's iffy back holding up all year.

I wouldnt trade him, I dont think you'll get what he is worth going forward. With a week 5 by coming up, he will get a chance to rest his back. So far this is the Jordon we expected last year. Rhodes is a solid backup, short of Jordan getting hurt I dont see a 3.6 yd per carry back getting in the game much. Its also too much to expect the Raiders to be thrilled with putting a guy they just aquired get suspended for an illegal/Banned substance out on the field. Somtimes these guys just screw themselves right out of playing time. Jordan is doing everything you could ask for both with the Raiders and for fantasy teams. I would try to aquire him if thats possible.

i was able to trade him and Boldin for Owen and Berrian yesturday.... so yes, i think he should be traded now for maximum value

What is the nature of his back injury? I haven't been able to find anything specific on it - has this been a chronic issue, or is this Kiffin playing around with the injury reports?

Ni?

Anyone think Michael Bush will be activated after week 6? I'm holding him n dynasty for right now and was wondering if anyone has heard anything on his situation. Maybe he steals the goal line carries?

add the fact that the avg rank of the defenses he's faced is 25th and he's a SCREAMING sell candidate.

I've been struggling with this all week. I have an offer for Maroney straight up, and it should be a no-brainer. But question marks surround both him and Jordan as far as their value moving forward. My gut is saying to move him if you can, but you can't argue with the numbers.

take it and RUN.

I thought Michael Bush was put on the IR?

I'm really stuck on this one. I got an offer of Portis + Betts + Ward for Jordan + Galloway, and I don't know what to do. Both Portis and Jordan have injury potential. But Jordan is really tearing it up in my 0.5 PPR league. He looks like the Jordan of 2005. It looks like a lock for him to finish in the top 10...

I think trading Jordan right now is a tough call.

I'm super deep at RB as well...LT, Portis, A Peterson, and Lamont...I just would hate to miss the opportunity to sell high. Of course I just traded MBIII for McNabb and Harrison in another league...I tried to buy low and now it looks like MBIII is going to blow up the rest of the year.

Hey, great, it had been at least 48 hours since the last identical Lamont Jordan thread.

Short answer: Jordan >> Rhodes.

I think that Lamont has more to offer than Maroney. Pats offense has been firing on all cylinders, yet Maroney's production has been good, but not great. Sammy Morris has a role and is viewed as better in getting the tough yards. Brady will throw a lot in red zone. Yes, Lamont has issues with his back, but Raiders don't hesitate to let him carry a big load and catch passes, while Pats will look to "preserve" Maroney for playoffs.Lamont Jordan > Maroney in terms of 2007 BOY Fantasy Value.

Dynasty = MaroneyRedraft = JordanBoth of those are HANDS DOWN answers in my opinion.

traded jordan and r.wayne for gore and wes welker in a ppr league.

Obviously I believe jordans #'s will drop after the bye week and I like gores potential.

Jordan is sell high candidate, but you have to get something good. Remember his 2005 stats were 1500 total yds, 11 TD's, and 70 receptions.

I just trade Palmer for Jordan. I have S.Jackson/Leonard, Henry & Barber, so he was expendable. My main QB was supposed to be Brees.

I guess you mean you traded Jordan for Palmer.I like Jordan a lot and 2 years ago he was a stud. Last year was a bye year with that coaching staff. Now they have a decent offense and Jordan again is reaping the benefits. He is tough ane will continue to do well

Just to let others know what's happening out there, I just traded Laurence Maroney for Lamont Jordan... it certainly isn't without it's risk, but it's a chance I decided to take.

Wow!!! You could have definitely gotten more out of that deal.
I 'had' 6 starting caliber RBs on my team, I have the option to only start 1. I'm letting that be Parker and i don't plan on sitting him. so i've been unloading my RB depth all week - just to improve positions slightly... it might come back to bite me - but the rumbling going on on our leagues message board tells me i'm doing something that's scaring people...I wanted Owens. I feel he's going to be the best WR in the league this year.I offered him Jordan for Owens straight up - he gave me an upper case NO.I wanted to unload Boldin, i don't think his value will be any higher than it is this week, and with Leinart looking like he's going to start - i'm low on him in the first place (i did not draft him). I like Berrian now - i think his receptions will go up with Griese around and i play in a 2 ppr league. So ultimately it was Braylon Edwards and Jordan or Boldin and Jordan for Owens and Berrian... I like Edwards better than Boldin...bottom line... my starting lineup is now: Romo, Parker, R. Williams, Owens, A. Johnson, Gates, Crosby, Minnesota/Chicago

I thought that the preseason theory that Jordan had a 4 game audition to hold off Rhodes sounded pretty good.

I think he aced the audition, and I don't think he's a sell high candidate. I think there's no reason he can't be a viable fantasy starter all year.

The back concerns is a good point, and the only thing I would wonder about.

MIAMI—Oakland Raiders running back LaMont Jordan left Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins shortly before halftime with a back injury. Jordan was hurt when he was tackled following a 7-yard reception. He was helped off the field, then went to the locker room sitting up on a cart.

In a redraft PPR someone a few days ago dealt Lamont Jordan for Larry Johnson. The team with the #1 talent picked up Larry as their RB3. I tried to protest but noone else seemed to object.
