Trade to Make you go Hmmm. (1 Viewer)

First time poster, long time reader.  Had to go to the masses on this one and ask for help.  Here's the scoop;

Keeper League, Standard Scoring (with a twist), 2 QB's 2 RB's 2 WR's 1 TE 1 FLEX (RB, WR, TE) 1 DST, keep 2 players and I have the first overall pick

Now for the question - I have Fournette and CMC as my keepers and my plan is to draft Barkley with the first overall since all the big dogs and usual suspects are off the board and being kept (ie, Gurley, Bell, Brown, Kamara, Gronk, you get the idea).  The trade that was offered to me is tempting;

My 1st Overall (Barkley) + CMC for his 7th Overall + Gurley

Pros - Gurley (obviously)

Cons - Not sure what will be there at 7th (maybe Drake, maybe Collins, maybe T.Y).  Other con is that if I keep the Barkley pick, I'm set at RB (and FLEX) and can hammer the WR with 2 2nd round picks I have.

I have already countered that I need a 3rd round pick to make this happen but he ain't going for it.

What say you wise Assistant Coaches?

If I'm understanding correctly, if you don't make the trade, you have Barkley, Fournette and McCaffrey. If you do make the trade, you have Gurley, Fournette and maybe Drake/Collins. If you are comfortable with Barkley's minor hammy tweak(and it sounds like you are), don't make this trade. I would focus on a couple good WRs as you mentioned or maybe even a TE if there are any left. I don't like Drake and MIA's horrible offensive line and with Collins....how much will Lamar Jackson take away from the BAL RBs?

CMC has alot more value in PPR than standard, and rolling with Gurley and Fournette would terrify me if you were my opponent... I would pull the trigger on this one

To add, how high are you on the Giants this year?  Will Barkley turn that offense around?  I believe yes to a degree, but you know what your getting with Gurley, the #1 overall pick for this years draft.  I think he and Fournette will both outperform Barkley and CMC (barring injuries) especially in standard.  And if you dont like Drake or Collins get a stud WR1 to pair with Gurley and Fournette and grab RB depth in R2 or R3.

Oh man... 50/50 so far.  Let's be honest I'm not in a terrible position either way.  Like J to the Bone says, I'm not sold on Drake either and Collins, well, it's a gamble.  I'm not too concerned with Barkley's hammy (great that they are resting him) but I'm more concerned about Fournette's ankles.  Alkarius, I hear what you're saying too.  A Gurley/Fournette combo would be killer to have.  CMC blew up the last few weeks in our league when I got him in a trade but you can't rely on the Panthers either.

I stand pat.  Take Barkley even if his hammy is an issue this year you can keep him next year and trade one of Fournette and CMC during the season or heading into the draft.  I don't like the trade even for Gurley.
