Trading Down? (1 Viewer)

Good morning all!

I had a post recently about picking #5 in a superflex PPR keeper league. Well, we decided to draft at random rather than based off of last years finish and now I have #1. Currently, I'm still keeping Hunt, Cook, McKinnon and Diggs.

Thinking about trading down from 1.1 to 1.4. I would also ship Hunt and get back Fitz. Then I'm a leg at RB and WR early and guarantee myself of getting one of Bell, Gurley, Zeke, DJ at 4.

Good idea? Stay put or look for a different target other than Fitz? My initial instinct is to stand pat since RBs are always at a premium even in PPR and with a superflex spot, QBs will go higher allowing WRs to slide a bit.

Cheers!

I'm ok with trading down to 1.4 but I would keep your current keepers and try to do it for picks. Say trade the 1.1 and 5.1 for the 1.4 and his 3.4. He may not do it since I'm sure he wants Hunt more than the 1.1 pick. Fitz is a major downgrade over Hunt. If I were the contra party I'd be licking my chops at you even considering the trade.

Will Antonio Brown be available? If so I might see if the 1.5 is interested in a pick deal, keep your 3 RB's and get Antonio with the 1.5 pick. Or just keep the 1.1 and take Antonio. With the 3 RB's you have you do not need one of the top 4 RB's.

He won't do it for picks as he wants Hunt. Fitz is sliding in ADP and Bradford as his QB worries me slightly.

My fear with taking Brown 1.1 is not getting one of those four RB1 studs who I like much more than my current 3 RBs. I'm currently thinking about taking Gurley/Bell and then trading one of the others for a WR1/2 post-draft. I can't guarantee AB being there at 1.5 and I had him last year and would LOVE him back.

I’m a bit tired, so maybe I’m not reading this correctly.  But currently you have the 1.1 and Hunt, abd after the trade you would have the 1.4 abd Firz?  I’m nit sure how that trade benefits you.  You drop 3 spots AND get a lesser player?  Usually when soneone moves up spots (the other guy), isn’t there a pruce to pay?  The way I see this, is that his “price” to pay is getting Hunt over Fitz???

I see what you’re trying to do with your team and a WR, but you’re selling yourself way short with this trade.  Its better to stat put, draft one if those RBs and then trade post-dtaft if you don’t like how your WRs ended up.  I’m sure you can come up with a nice trade for Hunt then.

Of course he wants Hunt, as I said he wasn't doing it for the 1.1 spot. Those spots are close to being interchangeable. So you would really consider trading Hunt for Fitz? I want in your league.

You have 3 good rb's, don't screw it up by breaking them up for an aging wr with a suspect QB. I really would not worry about his fitz/bradford combination. That may not even last until the regular season with Bradfords durability issues.

Trade down if you can get Brown, if not just grab Gurley and see if you can trade McKinnon or one of your other guys for a good WR-Adams,Keenan,Julio,OBJ or Hopkins.

That's it precisely. It was an interesting offer but I'd rather have a dearth of RBs that I could move for WRs later if I need to. If it was a player like Keenan Allen, I'd be much more inclined. I'm going to see if I can get a player of that caliber for Hunt (Hopkins/Allen) straight up rather than playing the pick game.

This is where I'm at. Already extended offers of Hunt for Hopkins/Allen straight up. I just thought it was an interesting offer but I'd rather keep Hunt even with Ware coming back over Fitz and Bradford throwing to him.

So, this worked out well as I ended up trading Hunt for Hopkins. Now, the coin flip between Gurley and Bell...

Yea, so you must admit that Hopkins for Hunt is a lot better than the original deal of Fitz for Hunt. Good job. Personally I'd roll with Gurley since Bell is going to keep holding out and will not be in football shape when the season starts.
