Travis Henry. Marijuana. Suspension? (1 Viewer)

1. What kind of runner is Hall? Quick, fast, etc?

2. Would you give up a commodity like Sammy Morris for Young right now? Or just go for the other lottery tickets?

:stirspot:

I'm on record that if he'd suspended for a long period, it will be similar to what Skeletor ran a year or so ago. Thus, Mike Bell gets good portion with S. Young getting the T. Bell role. Skeletor will reply on Bell's experience from doing it a season ago and wants Young's legs to be fresh to burst off long runs.I made the point before, but I remember hearing that S. Young has never finished a season...even in High School. He is a poster boy for injury prone. Thus, Skeletor will not give him the full load. I think the RB for the future, if they don't draft one very high...is A. Hall. Supposedly they LOVE him and are grooming him for their future.
A very likely scenario.
What about Sapp?
Still same role as FB, maybe GL carries at best would be my educated best guess.
Bell or Sapp could certainly take the 5 yards and in TD runs like Bell did last year. No idea who will. Ask skeletor and pickup the guy he doesn't mention as he despises all FFL'ers.
Yep and once you do, you'll start him and the player will not appear on the report...BUT, be replaced just before gametime for the guy at the end of the depth chart. Gotta love ol skeletor!

From the ESPN story:

Aiello said the NFL is attempting to have the case moved to a federal court in Brooklyn, because the collective bargaining agreement and the interpretation of the accord between the league and the NFL Players Association is a matter for federal purview. The league filed those papers on Monday, he said.

The issue being challenged by Henry is that the NFL would not allow his expert to observe the testing of the "B-sample." Although the collective bargaining agreement permits a player to have an expert present for the testing, Aiello said that expert cannot be affiliated with any laboratory. The expert presented by Henry did have such an affiliation.

The league provided Henry with the names of 10 independent experts as reference for his potential use.
So if Henry brought an expert that couldn't be used he's done. But nothing's going to happen for weeks?

Not that it means anything, but it's up on ESPN.com now. Pastabelly is now reporting it.

Sorry didn't see it already mentioned. Can't sift through all the bs to get to the facts.

(KFFL) Anthony M. Destefano, of the New York Newsday, reports Denver Broncos RB Travis Henry is embroiled in a lawsuit with the NFL. He is trying to keep the league from using the results of a drug test to suspend him, per papers filed with the Brooklyn federal court. While a court ordered a temporary restraining order against the league from using a urine specimen against him, the league got an appellate court to vacate that order.

Is it now coming to this? Us as fantasy players having to do research on whether or not a player has had a first time offense to the substance abuse policy, before we draft them?
Passing Matchups, Rushing Matchups, Ultimate SoS, Substance Abuse OutlookIt's the logical next step for FBG content expansion.

Bravo appellate court!

if true he deserves what he gets. It is a shame idiots like Henry, Vick and R. Williams have the ability to make millions of dollars but do not have the common sense to not smoke pot or fight dogs while they are in the NFL.
let's put them in the same sentence; because electrocuting dogs and smoking a joint are so eerily similar.
for henry, it's the same level of stupidity.

Add that to this part of the report:
In a novel legal strategy that, for now, isn't completely clear, Broncos running back Travis Henry has been fighting in court since September 20 to keep the NFL from using against him a urine sample that presumably tested positive for marijuana.
Presumably? Really? Is there any chance in hell that there are lawyers, lawsuits, and judges if his piss tested negative? The guy tested hot. Occam's Razor.

I like this, major room for growth. Little Pot leaf for a weed indicator, HGH flags, etc. Actually, maybe just on column that identifies these players IQ would solve it all.

I will ride this out and see what Henry gets.

If he is gone, I will only roster a Denver RB if I have a open spot, in any of my leagues.

In other words, I will avoid the who is Denver starting this week if Henry is gone.

I will try to trade the flavor of the week if it's their turn and I don't need a one week starter.

PS: Silver Lining: Week 6 bye roster spot may have just opened up.

Good call on the icons! :banned: could almost be used for a certain QB (a little tasteless, sorry).
THAT is REALLY bad. I laughed.

I know. It was so bad I deleted it. Too late! Already caught for posterity. :bag:

What kind of message does this send to all the children out there, in every state of the union, who look up to this guy?

Not NFL fans, I mean his actual kids.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahato everyone who yelled at those of us who were high on Young. lol
:banned: Yeah, you guys were clearly right. You were clearly going into the season knowing Henry was smoking something and going to get caught. Not that Young was going to overtake him, but that Henry was going to get suspended. Good call there.

But on the chance he did get popped... he had a chance at missing the entire season. Every other RB was just going to get a warning or 4 games at most. And I wasnt on the SY train (though I own him in the one league I have Henry).

Question - when are we actually anticipating Henry to begin the suspension?
Excellent point. I've been thinking that the last laugh could still be on the Young bandwagoners. I suspect there is the tiniest bit of chance that somehow Henry does get off on a technicality, but even given the 99% or so likelihood that he eventually loses, there is no guarantee that the judicial process is expedient. I don't think a month is out of the question. Who knows what Denver does in that interim period? If someone drops Henry now, expecting all of this to conclude prior to Week 7, he could still be productive for a few weeks. What a mess!

Much like everything else in this thread, no one knows for sure.... ------------------Look, I picked up Selvin tonight, but I am not getting wood over it. He's not big enough to handle 20 touches/game, IMO. This will be RBBC; those of you who speculated early need to get over yourselves & wait to see how this plays out. Hell, Henry isn't even actually suspended yet, and dare I say, may not end up being suspended....

Question - when are we actually anticipating Henry to begin the suspension?
From Sportsline:Henry might elect to appeal this violation, but if it is denied, he would be forced to start serving a one-year suspension immediately due to NFL rules. Under these rules, he can file for reinstatment 60 days prior to the end of the suspension.

I hope it takes a few weeks. My team is such patchwork right now with SJax, Walker, Evans, Green, and now Henry.

It's not clear to me what the "denied" is referring to precisely? Is it an NFL appeal? In that case, I think it would occur quickly. However, once the legal system is involved, if there is any merit to the case, it is a different story. The NFL is not more powerful than the judicial branch of the government.

With Henry potentially out, how do you rank Young going forward? Top 10, 15, 20?
40-45
This is actually a good point.I said 16-25. Thats if he is starting and remains starting. He has some serious risk of giving way to one of the other backs.Though Im sure I would trade the current backs I have at 33-45 in an instant on a chance on Selvin.
Another way of thinking about this is that the expected loss to Henry owners is greater than the expected gain to Young owners. RBBC/workload, injury risk, later roster moves all could play a role in reducing Young's actual production.Still a pretty good lottery ticket for the pirce that nearly all Young owners paid for him.

I picked up Young in both of my leagues. In the Sportsline league I like it more for the damage the loss of Henry does to the guy who has him. In my other league it would be really cool if Young finished 16-25 and I could play matchups between him and Jacobs.

What RB(starting) would you think Youngs numbers will come close to??Is he a everyweek starting fantasy RB??

A pretty fair target, I think. If people think Young will get the same workload as Henry, I believe they will be very disappointed. Big time RBBC, and we may not know all of the committee members yet. Young looks to be the best of the bunch, although maybe not in TD heavy leagues, but that may not turn out to be RB2 level production.
