Wouldnt this make sense. Henry will be suspended if he loses his law suit so why wouldnt shanny run him into the ground? It isnt like he has to worry about him staying healthy!

Or, he could prepare the RB that will be counted on down the stretch to receive more carries, and get more familar with the offense.

Flip a coin.

You can prepare a running back to be in practice and in spots during the game. Their best chance to win is Henry. They need to worry about winning football games and not who might fill in for Henry when and if he is suspended. Henry surprisingly gets a huge bump IMO. I really cant believe that there are owners that dropped him. Henry makes a great buy low candidate.

:deadhorse: That is what I would do. Better to find out if you need to make a trade now. If it goes to heck then put in Henry in for the balance of the game. Shanny would rather be stronger in 6 weeks than for this 1.

Here's what I wanna know about this logic, cuz we're seeing it brought up a lot the past couple days: What're the non-starting RBs on the Broncos doing during the week and in practice if none of them "are that familiar with the offense?" The backup RBs in Denver get to just knock off at 10:30 and hit the strip clubs for lunch then home for Madden '08 tournaments? Sweet gig, if that's the case.I've no idea what Ratface is going to do. It's why he's Ratface. But to think that he'll chuck a guy in there just because he might have to be relied upon later....... If that were the case, why wouldn't every team be using RBBC every week, every year? They MAY have to rely on one of the RBs on there team to carry the load at some point, right? If Henry is healthy enough to handle 20 carries he's probably going to get 20 carries. Why? Because he's the best RB Shanahan has right now and they need to win games.

Here are the RB carries per game for the Broncos this season:

Week 1: Henry 23/Sapp-Young 5 (82%)

Week 2: Henry 26/Young-Sapp-Bell 9 (74%)

Week 3: Henry 11/Young-Sapp-Bell 4 (73%)

Week 4: Henry 26/Young 8 (76%)

In every game, Henry has gotten at least 73% of the carries. Last week was the first time any other RB got more than 3 carries and that was because Henry got hurt. And even then, he still got his second-highest percentage of carries in a game this season. There is absolutely nothing to indicate that is going to change tomorrow barring injury. The only way I can see Young getting more than 4-5 carries is if Henry gets hurt or if the Broncos get 35-40 rushing attempts. In any event, if Henry is healthy enough to play I fully expect him to get the high percentage of carries he has received in every game this season. With Walker out, Henry is the only sure thing Shanahan has offensively. And in a must-win game for Denver, it would be foolish for Shanahan to ignore his top offensive threat at the present time.

Henry goes down on ground last game, sharp pain he said from ankle to knee..God I was thinking I was done for the season... was this his mind saying the pain or the pot case...he's hurting but knows not much time left..so LIVE IT!

IMO, if Shanahan knows with certainty that Henry will be suspended for one year within the next week or two, I think logic dictates we see extra carries for the Young/Sapp/Hall RBBC. 15-20 carries for Henry, and 10 carries for the future RBBC.

The most important thing for Shanahan is to win the game. Period. Nothing else matters. Preparing for the future is silly if it means costing the team a game tomorrow and falling to 2-3 with three straight losses all in the conference. I'm not even a Henry owner and I have no reason to think that as long as Henry is healthy anyone else will see many carries tomorrow. This a Must Win game for the Broncos and Henry is by far their best offensive player at the moment. If he's healthy enough to play, Shanahan has to use him as much as possible.

you're ######ed.

well, let look at this logically...say henry has a month left...or three games. Shanny wants to run him into the ground...so we are looking at about 35-40 carries a game. he is averaging 5.0 YPC.

So really I dont see how he doesnt get about 600 more yards before the season is over. 1000 yard rusher yeah boy!

Dude I would take that in a second. I dont think he will quite get there, but 800 might be feasible, no?
