Reading on the stillers homer board that:

Per Bill Cowher in a post game announcement, Troy P has suffered a "serious injury".

Will update as I find anything.

This would make Ryan Clark a fairly decent pickup for the rest of the season, would it not? If it is an ACL, Clark's increased value would therefore extend until this time next year also.

I'm not sure how the SS/FS thing will pan out without Polo. Tyrone Carter will step in and Ryan Clark will fill those spots, but where each one fits is not clear to me...

According to this report, NO SURGERY necessary, just a sprained MCL. Can't imagine him playing again this year at any rate, though, with nothing on the line.
I agree. I cannot see the Steelers putting him back onto the field this season unless absolutely necessary, which would mean they are making the playoffs. Hope he has a speedy recovery. He's one of the better players and people in the game.

The injury is a Grade 2 sprain, which is usually a two to four week recovery period. Whether he's closer to Mike Peterson (no missed time) or Matt Hasselbeck (four weeks) is yet to be determined. The Steelers have now said that Tyrone Carter will play in the base defense and Anthony Smith will get some extra time in dime packages.
