Two Trades Accepted (1 Viewer)

I'm the Commish of my league and looking for advice what to do. In my league today, a team had trades accepted for the same player by two separate teams. We don't have a rule about this situation and have never had it occur before.

Under normal circumstances, we give league managers about 24 hours to voice any opposition to a trade and then I process it manually. Which trade should I process? Should I allow the owner to choose which trade he wants or should the first trade be processed?

this is easy, you put through the first trade that was accepted

Hate it when the commish has to "process" a trade. Sites these days do all the work for you.

Time stamp is the only way to go in this situation.

Seems like a Hitler move imo. Any good league, at least imho, won't let the commish be the only veto choice, so no reason to not just let the deals go thru THEN if there is a problem, deal with it.I just had a bad experience with a commish that wanted all the power, trades were made on a tues and didn't get processed till Sat, so guess i still have a sour taste in my mouth.

It's much better leaving it one person's hands than having the league vote on it.

Even better to have the trade go through automatically. If there is a problem you can reverse it.

brohan one thing you could do if you are trying to not do the completely obvious thing is to take a big wheel of aged cheese and roll it down a hill nad have the guys that want the guy chase it down the hill like they do in those crazy countries that have like nine consonants in there names and no vowels and then bam whoever gets that cheese gets the guy and then from that day forward you will have a new saying and whenever anyone wants the same guy you can just say two enter one gets the cheese and everyone will know take that right to the bank brohan and get that cheese

Not so good a posting... Reversing things can get messy - especially if games get played. Most commishes are timely, NOT on a power trip and use the option just so nothing radical occurs.

in good leagues, radical things don't occur.trade vetoing is lame.

You obviously process the first one.

And yes, do away with the "process" and just let trades go through. What do you need to do when a trade is accepted? You're just slowing down the process of owners potentially making other moves, and cutting back on owners' desire to trade (since they'd have to "wait" to get their new toys.)

And if the guy you acquired sucks, a few weeks later you might end up cutting the cheese.

Radical things happen when money is involved.......even in good leagues. You have a good league, because you have a good commish.

I agree on doing away with a veto period for trades. I play in a league that has to wait 2 full days for a trade to go through. It's a good league otherwise, but I hate that trades are set up that way. Especially now that there are games on Sunday, Monday, and Thursday every week...makes it ridiculous to tie up your lineup for that long.
