Typo During Auction Draft (1 Viewer)

During my league's auction draft on ESPN.com, two owners made typos during the draft and the result was exceedingly large bids ($161, $131) that in a single swoop nearly wiped out their entire $200 budget.

Have you seen this sort of thing before? If so, does your league have any sort of mechanism for dealing with it? We just went on, but both typo rosters are very mediocre, at best, which will skew the balance of the league.

The last auction I participated in had this occur 2x in the 1st round of bidding. Each team submitted 2 Off & 2 Def players to the Auction - 12 Team league with IDP. Rules stated that owners were responsible for their own actions. However, there was a Double Check process in the bidding... enter the $ and then review/accept it.

Both claimed they missed the error until after it was too late..... crying to the league about the mistake...

The Commish gave them a choice:

Option A) Live with it

Option B) No bidding on any player in this round (all 48 players were off limits) and get your full bid returned, and the player will be returned to the pool to be bid on as normal.

Both teams accepted option B

And then if someone claims they accidentally clicked on Kareem Huggins instead of Jermichael Finely and would like a do-over, what of that?

Why not?

If you're not playing in a free league, and you actually have a commish, there's absolutely no reason to allow this to happen if they're immediately telling everybody that it was a mistake. If this is a free league with no commish, then I suppose you get what you pay for?

How could you possibly let those bids stand? That's ridiculous.
Ditto. Letting that stand was a horrible call. If it's an online draft you should be able to simply pause a draft and fix it. If it was in person that is just nuts.

Yes our league has a mechanism, it's called don't be a ####### and ruin the league.

Of course it's a do over moron. If someone picks Kareem Huggins with the 8th overall pick and says its a mistake, you fix it.
