Yeah, the cause and reasoning is debatable but I'm generally pretty pleased that a school administration tried to implement an event and the students said, "Eh, maybe let's not."
I like rebellion and defiance. Never let the people in charge get too comfortable.

Yes bobby from kappa alpha stickinthebum decided he would show his patirotism by asking for a moment of silence.
But Jimmy from Delta Pi Stufffmypants hates Bobby, because Bobby went to the Fall Greek Ball with Jenny. so Jimmy gets his friends Jerry and Ricardo to muster the forces to say this is an insult to Muslims, when really it is just a fraternity rivalry. Meanwhile Doug who is a civics major is flipping through the rules of order to see if the motion was properly seconded by Betsy, a communication major who is using this as a platform to practice her public speaking skills.
Meanwhile thousands of other students go on about their business completely oblivious to what the aforementioned nincompoops are doing, as it has 0 impact on their schooling or their lives.
Just asked 3 students that work for me and 2 coworkers. One student heard something about it, but didn't have details. The others had no idea what I am talking about.
I don't think anyone is making the leap that it was because of Muslim students. Assuming someone would be offended by a moment of silence for 9/11 because they are muslim is the crazy part. And fears it would somehow lead to looting of Muslim owned business or some such event is just lunatic fringe.
Until Christianity is no longer the majority religion in America, the other religions just need to deal with whatever is (lawfully) done in the name of Christ in these here United States.
