Agreed that he won the first, but not that he keeps it up. I love Jones.i didn't think he had much of one at all, but i think he won that 1st round. i hope Gus can keep it upAnyone think Gustafsson has a chance? I don't.

well, i like it more just because it is nice to see Jones being challenged. I always thought Jones was a goof, but he seems to be maturing and i liked him a little better after all of the interviews for this cardAgreed that he won the first, but not that he keeps it up. it's possible. i don't see how you don't give him the 1st, 2nd was close, and i think the 3rd was close too. I think Jones just stole the 4th with the "spinning ####" he landed at the end of the round that stunned Gus.My feed is terrible, almost unwatchable. But so far I have Jones losing all three rounds. Very surprising.
Good thing for Jones with this fight is if he wins this it will elavate his status. He is in a war with this one, if he survives and wins it will be good for him. But his face is busted up.Aw, thought he was gonna finish it at the end of the fourth. I'm n the edge of my seat.
I had it 49-46 JonesI think Jones won. He's got 4 and 5. He only needs one other round on two of the cards, and they were close enough I think he gets that.
which 4 rounds. Is this 1st to Gus, and the rest for Jones?I had it 49-46 JonesI think Jones won. He's got 4 and 5. He only needs one other round on two of the cards, and they were close enough I think he gets that.
Yes. Maybe 3 to Gus, but Jones clearly won 4 and 5. You can't fight 3 close rounds with the champ and clearly lose 2 others, ask Frankie Edgar.which 4 rounds. well, that stat for shots to the head was pretty valid too when they showed it in middle of the 4th, what was it Alexander 88, Jones 8I guess some people don't give Jones credit for the leg kicks.![]()
Agreed. Real shame Gus couldn't keep it up for the 4th and 5th rounds, but i think your assessment is about right. I have to see 2 and 3 again to be more definitive.Yes. Aldo - Hominick was pretty badass.I think Jones won. He's got 4 and 5. He only needs one other round on two of the cards, and they were close enough I think he gets that.Pretty much exactly what I thought when they were announcing scores.
Greatest title fight ever? I'm kind of drawing a blank to think of one that compares but I'm sure there is. Anybody?
Yeah, Caceras is one of those guys i can see in the UFC for his life. Almost all of his fights are exciting, and he is a joy to watch. he can lose a bunch in a row, and still be fun to see on a cardIf anyone didn't see the Delorme - Careres fight early, it's worth watching with this replay. Excellent fight.
Bendo-Pettis I has always been my favorite, but this one is right up there. (edit: that was WEC but still a Zuffa event - if we're talking best UFC event I like Frankie-Maynard II. Always have a soft spot for Chuck-Tito II too.)I had it 48-47 Jones, but I could see 49-46 - the first two rounds were pretty damn close. I may have given Gus a little extra credit just based on the fact that it's so unprecedented to see anybody give Jones a fight like that.Aldo - Hominick was pretty badass.I think Jones won. this is a real good question. I guess it depends on how you determine what greatest is. there have been a lot of close one's, and exciting one's too. It's funny, because i can't think of a good answer here, mostly because for some reason i have a lot of emotional investment in the fights. Maybe that is a credit to the UFC building the cards like they do. here are some i can think of:Aldo - Hominick was pretty badass.I think Jones won. He's got 4 and 5. Yeah, that was my favorite, too. I was surprised by everything in that fight. Kept waiting for Anderson to land something and take the fight back, and then when I'm finally wrapping my brain around Sonnen winning, Silva pulls out the sub.I think my winner would be Chael-Anderson 1. Nobody thought Chael would win that, and then as he dominated you thought he had it locked in, and Silva had that great sub to end the fight. I do think the quote on the broadcast was best LHW title fight ever, and i think it has to be up there. Only other one i can think in contention was Randy beating Tito and spanking him near the end of the fight
agreed - pretty good card overall, only real dud for me was Jury-Ricci. I expected a better performance out of Menjivar too.So I'm guessing..
FoTN: Jones v Gustafsson
KOoTN: Barao
SoTN: Schaub
There were only 2 subs on the card, but both resulted in putting the other guy to sleep instead of a tap.
Only thing that went wrong that nite was Sonnen got subbed.Yeah, that was my favorite, too. I was surprised by everything in that fight.
