Smart move, in case one of CMG or EA has to withdraw due to injury.White says he's working a Khahib vs Johnson for 205 as well. #### that card is going to be stacked.
I have watched most of Eddie's career, and honestly I think the guy would still show up for this fight with a broken leg. I can't see an injury that would have him call out of it (knock on wood now that I jinxed him)Smart move, in case one of CMG or EA has to withdraw due to injury.
That's fine but enough with the Indians pitching staff already.AhrnCityPahnder said:205 is shaping up to be what 200 should have been.
injury bug: Go visit MLB or the NHL until after this card.
He's always been vocal about the UFC's dealings and his career plans, way before it started resonating in English-language media recently, and there's been talk about him retiring young in the past as well. He's never struck me as the sort of dude who'd take one for the team, so...well, I just hope Aldo and the UFC brass can work it out somehow.Connor -175Coeur de Lion said:Zero chance Alvarez walks away from this payday. Even if he has a broken leg or something he'll show up. Plus, he'll probably be favored.
If that's what he wants to do, I don't see UFC begging for him to stay. As great as he's been in the past, he's not a PPV headliner. People aren't coming out in droves and saying "Hey let's order this PPV for Aldo". That's the reality of it. He can't ##### about being bypassed like he's doing here after how many times he's pulled out .....and also losing in the # seconds he did.Retirements are notoriously ephemeral situations in all forms of combat sports, but I won't lie - the Jose Aldo retirement talk got me shook. He's always been vocal about the UFC's dealings and his career plans, way before it started resonating in English-language media recently, and there's been talk about him retiring young in the past as well. Had me rolling.
It's good to have CmG insulting people not named Diaz for a change.it is funny how everyone wants to get in on the McGreggor wagon, and Conner is able to control that bandwagon. He literally has the ability to make a fighter rich if he wants to, by picking a fight with them. But then Stephens tries to get in on the action and gets shut down quick. I have seen that Stephens went to go after Conner after the conference and he says Conner was hiding in his room, but Stephens missed the boat here and is just making himself look silly. Should know better then to think you can just jump right in on the Conner train, and I hope Edgar makes Stephens pay for overlooking himIt's good to have CmG insulting people not named Diaz for a change.
I'm not a betting man, but I see Alvarez smashing Conor.Connor -175
Alvarez +135
same here. I used to be pretty good at knowing where lines would move too, but last 2 or 3 years I seem to have lost it. but with this one, I will wait for the Conner love to come in, probably closer to the fight and try to bet it at better odds then. I checked last night and already saw Alvarez -110 and Conner -120 (I think)I'm not a betting man, but I see Alvarez smashing Conor.
Smashing? Not IMO. I think that he can win a decision if he fights smart (ie wrestles), but he has also shown a tendency to get cracked on the feet, and by lesser strikers than McGregor. IMO slight edge Alvarez, but it's pretty close to a toss up.I'm not a betting man, but I see Alvarez smashing Conor.
If he uses the same strategy as the Pettis fight, I can see him completing multiple takedowns and pounding out Conor.Smashing? Not IMO. Damn it, Lineker. I got pissed at Rumble for his inability to make weight early in his career, and for consistency's sake, it pisses me off about Lineker too. Fifth time for him, though this is the first one at 135. I still think that 135 is the right weight class for him, at least. If he weren't so damn good and his fights weren't so entertaining, he might've been cut by this point.i think the line on Brooks was -260 earlier today, now is -320. I guess others think this may be the case as wellOnly three missed weight for tomorrow's UFC. Of course, Lineker was one of them, and he has missed weight at flyweight and now bantamweight. Alex Oliveira weighed in at 161.5 - wonder if he's injured. Dias 148.5 - pretty awful too.
how Slack does not have a better job somewhere of MMA analysis is so frustrating and beyond me. it is like all of the MMA reporting doesn't want actual analysis of fights, Sirius or Fox Sports should have him on for something. A show with him, Dan Hardy and Cruz would be absolute goldAhrnCityPahnder said:Nice technical breakdown of some of the elements of Conor's game here. This was from about a year ago, but I don't think it was posted in this thread before.
FS1 at 11pmThis a fight pass card? Not seeing in on anywhere.
just started on fox sports i believeThis a fight pass card? Not seeing in on anywhere.
i'm caught watching Mr. Robot, Fili up 2-0?Great fight between Dias and Fili so far. Shame some of you guys hate featherweights.
Seems like it. 29-28 Fili.i'm caught watching Mr. Robot, Fili up 2-0?
Maybe just the main event.I didn't watch the Dodson/JL card. Is it worth going back to?
It appeared to be a really close fight, and Dodson definitely took 5 and probably 1 as well. The main problem was Lineker helped himself in a close match by being the aggressor and throwing lots of shots that missed. He attempted 300+ strikes to Dodson's 190. Sure he only landed 28% of the time, but the judges seem to like that.So anyone else think Dodson took 1, 3, and 5?
