UFC wagering: no longer stuck with the old thread title. The window to change it is here! (6 Viewers)

That’s gross. Not even the “cam girl” aspect but the “tipping” of fighters to get them to do “a move”. Maybe this could be a WWF type of thing. Or even just having the viewers “tip” fighters. But basically auctioning off a fighters tactics, game plan to the highest bidder is gross. More so when it’s real time. And that’s assuming that requests don’t devolve in the usual lewd places that the internet goes. This is like an episode of Black Mirror.

I think El Cucuy is going to stop Khabib. I'm betting on it. Rds 1,2,3 pay +1250, 1300 and 1475 currently at 5d. +370 inside the distance. +650 for the decision if Khabib survives the beating.

Tony Ferguson out of next weeks fight...apparently.

#### this ####.

Holloway stepping in but F this ####.

Good for Max. Guy's definitely getting one hell of a payday for this.

And we'll have 3 lightweight "title holders" despite whatever they say  :lol:  (Conor/Tony/Saturday's winner)

KHABIB/FERGUSON NOT OFF. Coordinated April Fools Joke, just got a messages from Tony, Khabib and Ali he is fine. This was a coordinated joke by the UFC.

I don't understand the UFC wanting Khabib to fight 145lbs guys.  Remember when they were saying Khabib vs Aldo?  I believe Khabib said something like it didn't make sense for him because it's a fight he is supposed to win.  We have the same exact thing here, but with Max.  Khabib should be a huge favorite, but I doubt he can finish Max if he couldn't finish Barboza.  Max has an engine that won't stop, and the range to keep Khabib at a distance.  He may frustrate Khabib if he can defend the takedowns early.

They had to put on a title fight people wanted to see. They simply couldn't afford for Khabib to 1) Not fight here or 2) Put him against someone that no one wants to see him fight. The only realistic options on this advance are: promoting one of Iaquinta/Felder/Pettis/Chiesa to face Khabib....or Max Holloway (or lesser weight guy that can make 155 to keep a title fight)

Excellent choice by UFC. They had to hit a home run with the replacement and they unquestionably did it with Max. Outside of Conor or intrigue of a Nate Diaz return, Max going for double title vs. Khabib is the only fight that's a "money making" (under their current non-McGregor standards) headliner available. Neither McGregor nor Diaz would make weight this close anyway with their layoffs. Selecting Max definitely lessens the impact of no Ferguson (I actually think it'll only add viewers with Max going for the double belt). 4 straight YEARS of Ferguson/Khabib fight being cancelled. Just unreal.

It gives Max a #### load of leverage in being Conor's next opponent if he wins. There'd be the past history of their previous fight + Max holding both of "Conor's belts".  It's all upside for him.

Early reports have Khabib 5 to 1 betting odds.  So if Khabib wins, what is the cluster F 155 going to look like?

-CM the stripped champ

-Tony Ferguson, the injured champ*, as much as I love Tony he beat a #5 Kevin Lee.  Or was he #7?  I agree with Eddie Alvarez here, when has anyone ever become #1 for beating a guy that low?

-Khabib - beat the 145lbs champ.

So arguably 4 unofficial champs. And Nate Diaz probably would argue with you that he is the champ. Lol

I'm very curious about this accident he had on the studio set.  Trip, slip, training gone wrong?  Could the UFC set have had a tripping hazard?  Could Tony have hurt it outside, then came in there and said it happened on set?  I have had suspicions of football players doing this before camp.  I will give Tony the benefit of the doubt, but I'm baffled right now.  These guys gob5 rounds with limited injuries, yet get injured on a UFC set. :confused:

:lmao: It wasn't meant to be.

Holloway/Nurmagomedov is a hell of a fight, though, even on six days' notice. Love that Holloway was willing to step up (and even said so at a press conference well before the fight was called off). I feel he's got a far better shot than the odds would indicate.

McGregor tweeted out that he was ready a few weeks ago, but Dana didn't have any interest.  Says the weight cut would be too hard on 6 days & they don't have time to adequately promote it.  They probably had several contingency plans for this fight.

The strange thing is you have to wonder what type of shape Max is in.

Back on March 20th, he did an interview on MMA Hour and talked about how he could not train until the summer at the earliest and was expecting to have surgery in the middle of April on his ankle

I have to assume he got offered a TON of $ to step up for this in his condition.

And he is 5 to 1 odds.  Everyone thinks he is going to get pounded.  Maybe he thinks he can defend enough take downs & survive long enough to cause Khabib to run out of gas in the later rounds.  Max could end up picking Khabib apart if he makes it to round 4.

I'm jumping in some DraftKings this weekend. If anyone wants to join me, drop me your DK name and I'll add you as a friend. @Bobcat10

Also, I'm on Joanna J -109 for a bundle. I'll probably get on some other bets but I love that price.

War Max!

I'm always excited to watch Joanna fight but I really think she'll win her title back. The fighter that beat Claudia Gadelha and Jessica Andrade wasn't who we saw in November.

Yeah, I don't know how to reconcile who we saw last vs what to expect next.   I think fully "on" JJ beats fully "on" Rose but we don't know how she responds to losing.   some people just break.

Joanna took her lumps after the loss, and other than her odd insistence that she didn't tap to strikes, she seems (via social media and traditional media) to have bounced back mentally and is ultra-prepared with her weightcut and training. If she loses to Rose again, it'll be because Rose is more of a killer than any of us ever gave her credit for.
As of now, I still believe that the Brazilians were Joanna's toughest opponents. We'll find out in 3 days.  :excited:

Correct. Her weight is on point.

Assuming she doesn't abandon her game plan and stays conservative early, she will get her belt back.

At first I was super disappointed that Tony dropped out but I’m starting to get excited for Max vs Khabib. Really this whole card. The only thing I’m not excited for is Joe Lauzon. He’s been one of favourites for a long time but he’s had some bad losses and I worry about him.

McGregor showed up today and there was an altercation and a chair got thrown through a van window? Something like that. Heh.

@arielhelwani

According to multiple sources Michael Chiesa suffered a laceration in the fracas. He is being attended to at the arena. Unclear at this time how serious his injury is.

Don't know who this guy is but

Jim Edwards

@MMA_Jim

A source has told me a tha Dana White turned up at the scene and said.... "Conor is in jail, he's done"

Does Conor fight again in the UFC?

Brett Okamoto

@bokamotoESPN

Dana White said warrant is out for Conor McGregor’s arrest. His plane can’t leave New York.

Was just with Dana White. Called it the most despicable thing in UFC history. I asked him if he wants to be in business with Conor McGregor anymore, he said, would you?

So CM was going after Nurmy (reasons unknown?) and somehow Chiesa was the victim?
He was going after Khabib for something Khabib and company did to Lobov. They broke the window on the van they were on and Chiesa was cut. Lobov was pulled from his fight with Caceres as a result. Chiesa status unknown.
