UFC wagering: no longer stuck with the old thread title. The window to change it is here! (3 Viewers)

I am glad you won your bet but watch the fight 10 times and tell me how Cej earned it.  I just don't think he won it from DJ and I am not a DJ fan.  He will lose in his next 2 fights that is not including a DJ rematch.
Thanks man. My replies have had nothing to do with the bet. Mighty Mouse came up short and even seemed to agree.

Yep and Cody was just outmatched tonight but enteraining.
Disagree.

Cody was fine. He landed a solid punch, had TJ hurt, then, hear me out....

Made a dumb decision.

I know that you wouldn't expect that from Cody but yeah he never should have gotten into the pocket with TJ.

Same thing as first fight. TJ is much more precise and compact in the pocket.

Yup. He who lands first wins in those swingfests and Cody was swinging wide and hard and TJ was much tighter... both times... which is weird because Cody is under most circumstances the cleaner boxer.

I don't necessarily agree with the details here.  But I agree that TJ isn't heads and shoulders above Cody despite the last 2 fights.  But I can't stand how he conducts himself, so I hope this crashes him mentally.  They could prob fight 10 times and split 5-5, IMO.

TJ being more compact and precise is the same as outmatched.

I’m surprised how much Cody drops his left hand when throwing his right. Every time TJ just came over the top and nailed him. If Cody would keep his freaking hands up he’s be just fine.

I remember my first boxing lesson 6 years ago. I had my gloves on and my coach told me throw a punch and proceeded to slap my face with his right hand. He said about 100 times - keep your hands up or you’ll get knocked out.

It’s not a hard thing to understand yet top level fighters still don’t do it.

Maybe you forgot how TJ was saved by the bell of Rd 1 in their first fight.
I just watched the 1st fight again.  Cody is backing up most the fight.  He caught TJ clean and TJ was hurt but isn't like he was out or not defending.  Was he helped by the bell?  Of course but was it over if there wasn't a bell?  That's a big leap.

that fight was a great example of the difference in camps. Alpha Male is like Shamrock's Lion's Den. Used to be a top gym destination, but seems to really have fallen behind

Completely fine with Cejudo winning.  2-2 entering the 5th, which could have gone either way.  DJ didn't seem to feel like it was a robbery either. Cejudo wants a superfight, but I can't see them not giving DJ an immediate rematch, he's been champ forever and this fight could've went either way.

Happy Dillashaw won. I don't think he's a great guy or anything but Cody seems worse. Very exciting and interesting fight even though it lasted less then a round. Thread title is on point.

LOL at the late cutaway when Anthony Kiedis flipped the bird.

I thought Kang took the second round and should have gotten the win. Very close, though.

Simon looked two weight classes lower than Jackson. Dude does have some massive hands. And skis for feet. Crazy.

Jackson has a ton of room to improve his technique. Looks so raw in so many situations. Definitely buying his future.

Simon's win is a testament to the idea that technique and grit can defeat athletic talent. Still looking forward to Jackson's career.

Munhoz vs Johns was a slugfest. Amazing to see Johns take all of those head shots and then get dropped by the hard strike to the body. And then dopped again by the accumulation of leg kicks.

Easily FOTN so far.

Munhoz going for those subs was pretty dumb, though. I question his fight IQ.

As an aging man, I'd appreciate it if the UFC would allow the Tale of the Tape to fill the entire screen. Man, that font is hard to read. Or maybe I need a 70" TV.

Thiago Santos fights so angry. Jeez. Wears himself out with all of that violence.

Holland has a bright future and has a lot of room to improve in some basic areas. Another guy I'm looking forward to seeing more of, but angry Santos was just too much for him right now.

Those overhooks Viana had were ultra strong. Usually, when someone has double-unders, they have control. That's not the case against Viana. Overall, though, not impressed with her.

Horrible fight.

Moicano looked beastly. Wow! Performance of the Night, fosho!

Crazy left ankle action from Cejudo. Can't believe it seemed to just go away.

I had it Johnson 48-47. He easily got the 1st and 3rd. The 2nd, 4th, and 5th were close. Some amazing wrestling in that fight. I hope Johnson gets an immediate rematch.

Seems like Cejudo got rewarded a championship for being able to lay on Johnson a couple of times.

Still have Munhoz vs Johns as FOTN so far. Johnson vs Cejudo was really close, but it wasn't overly exciting.

Hopefully, these two clowns will double KO each other.

A couple minutes in, it almost happened!!!!

Garbrandt will never be able to beat Dillashaw.

Garbrandt is very good, but you have to just think he fought the fight of his life against Dominick Cruz.

Garbrandt has nothing more than a puncher's chance against Dillashaw.

I didn't watch the post-fight interviews. Cejudo has no business getting a fight against Dillashaw.

I did, Dana didn't seem thrilled with that.  The best thing was when the asked TJ why he is the 135 ever over Cruz and he said to paraphrase.  I am fighting the best in the world and not sitting behind a desk always hurt.

That had to be scripted. No chance Dillashaw can think of something that good on the fly.

They also asked why Dana was for superfights now and against them before.  To summarize.  I was never against them before but when BJ Penn is only going to be 155 and wants to fight Randy Couture, you can't do that.

Alex Perez's fight with Jose Torres went three minutes and 36 seconds. The unofficial significant strike count for Perez was 104 for 170.

Great performance by TJ. I didn't think he lost the belt in the first place so glad to see him regain it.

If not DJ/Cejudo 3, hope we see TJ/Cejudo next. I really hope Cruz isn't involved in the mix here. TBH if I never saw him fight again I'd be ok with that. I'm sure we see him again but wouldn't be shocked if we didn't. He looked like he aged a lot in that Garbrandt fight. Looked like going in slow motion compared to Garbrandt. Been almost 2 years (again) since he's last fought. It's stunning that he's only fought 4 TIMES (!!) in the past 7 years and 3 of those times were in the same calendar year. He's got a career as long as he wants it in announcing.

As opposed to what DJ did in the fifth round--- which was ...what, again?  Get taken down and ineffective striking?
What did Cejudo do in the second? And in most of the fourth?

Everyone is falling over themselves to give Cejudo those rounds, but he did little more than lay on top after losing badly in the standup.

I didn't have him losing badly in stand-up in those rounds, but maybe I need to rewatch.

I'm not saying cejudo dominated any part of that fight.  But DJ didn't, either.

Being able to control any 125er, let alone the greatest 125er of all time, is an accomplishment.

I had it 4-1 DJ though. But I can see the argument for a Cejudo 3-2.
