Nice. I think Cyborg has maybe a fight or 2 left that are of interest, but she is too far ahead of anybody Strikeforce can get. i just hope this isn't a massacre. I really think Coker et al. should put Cyborg up against the worst 155 lber on the Strikeforce roster. Would never do it, but i ould put my money on Cyborg i think in that fightby the way, the bet tonight was parlay of Fedor, Cyborg, Thompson, and Cung Le. I threw a little on Scott Smith to balance that out, but that was the only bet on this card worth anything. May put a little on Werdum too if i feel luckyYup, Finney has shown she has heart at this point, but this won't help promote women's MMA seeing a girl get the crap kicked out of herwhat the hell is this ref doing? stop the freaking fight already, good lord.we may see Finney die in the ring tonight with the female Mazzagatti reffing here![]()
yeah, that chick seemed really inept as a referee."you want her up? you want her up?"Yup, Finney has shown she has heart at this point, but this won't help promote women's MMA seeing a girl get the crap kicked out of herwhat the hell is this ref doing? stop the freaking fight already, good lord.we may see Finney die in the ring tonight with the female Mazzagatti reffing here![]()

she might be the most impressive female athlete I've ever seen. I have no idea what chick out there might have a chance to even finish a fight with her, much less beat her.Christ, Cyborg is just a punching machine. Her actual technique isn't that sharp, but the sheer volume of strikes is overwhelming. That fight really should've been stopped sooner.

NEXTAlso, am I supposed to be getting misty about Frank Shamrock retiring?NEXT

I'd like to see Tito do a version of that. Chuck and Randy would hit home for a lot of people, but seeing Tito Ortiz or Matt Hughes do that would be funny to see the reaction of the crowdAlso, am I supposed to be getting misty about Frank Shamrock retiring?NEXT

not goodwell, it's pretty obvious they haven't improved the commentary during the fights.
Sweet spinning back kicks by Cung Le. I want to try that on my neighbor.

yeah, I like watching Strikeforce and I hope they succeed but they definitely need to improve their entire production.not goodwell, it's pretty obvious they haven't improved the commentary during the fights.
I'M PUMPED!!!! GO FEDOR!!!!!!!!!!!

out of the top spot, yeah, but I wouldn't take him out of the top five (at least until he loses again). Everybody loses fights and it was bound to happen sooner or later.Overeem's gonna ruin Werdum, though. This pretty much puts to rest Fedor as the best heavyweight out there today. I know MMAth never works, but Verdum was KO'd by Junior Dos Santos and dumped out of the UFC less than 2 years ago.
Guarantee Dana White is doing flips right now. Real glad i put a little on Werdum, who would have thought that my parlay would be ruined by Fedor? This pretty much puts to rest Fedor as the best heavyweight out there today. Hopefully he tells Fedor to #### off when he and his handlers come running to him.I'm too busy picking up my jaw to worry about ranking implications, but like you said, MMAth is nonsense. It's true that Werdum looked terrible against Junior, but he changed camps and looks completely rejuvenated since being released (which was a questionable move even then, and came partly as a result of contract issues). I wasn't kidding when I said that Werdum was up there with the best fighters Fedor had faced since prime Mirko. He's legit.Just trying to give Fabricio his due. This pretty much puts to rest Fedor as the best heavyweight out there today. I know MMAth never works, but Verdum was KO'd by Junior Dos Santos and dumped out of the UFC less than 2 years ago.
Werdum already beat Overeem in Pride, and though he certainly doesn't get as much hype, I think he's improved even more than Overeem since then. Should be a hell of a fight.out of the top spot, yeah, but I wouldn't take him out of the top five (at least until he loses again). I wasn't trying to knock FW. Just saying that 2 hours ago, on most peoples lists, he's not a top 5 HW in the world and for some not even a top 10. (although I agree he's very good, and I even commented during his Bigfoot fight how much better he looked than I last remembered). Fedor has been fighting clowns for 5 years now. He got a real fight tonight and got embarrassed quickly.I'm too busy picking up my jaw to worry about ranking implications, but like you said, MMAth is nonsense. saw a rumor tonight that Fedor may be entering this fight with an injured hand and knee. Not sure the reliability of the source, but sportsbook pulled the shadiest of shady. The line last night was around Werdum +400, Fedor -550. Something like that, i don't remember the exact, but i am pretty sure that they only moved the Werdum line (now +350) and kept the Fedor line the same.
i don't think this played a part at all, but the theories will be rabid. by the way, Fedor simply got caught in a submission that many would have been caught in. Werdum had him setup for it, and was trying for it the whole time. But even before this fight, i would argue Fedor was the GOAT. Personally i may have chose GSP as the GOAT. he has some losses, but has learned from his losses, and has reasons why he lost them. At this point, i don't now of anyone who will beat GSP or Anderson Silva, and if you really want to thin of a GOAT, i thin one of these 2 is certainly should be in the conversation. and i wonder where Strikeforce goes from here. Fedor losing can't help them, i can't imagine the enthusiasm for Overeem-Werdum will not be the same as Fedor-Overeemi just turned on the radio show. a little late, but i have to think the callers may be funny. Fedor fanboys were even worse then CroCop fanboys. i completely agree with the sentiment that Fedor is still top 5, no doubt, and Werdum had a great gameplan for this fightIt was inevitable.@

I know you weren't trying to knock Werdum. Just found it funny that the first reaction was to dismiss Fedor, rather than giving the winner credit.I wasn't trying to knock FW. Like I was saying, rankings are largely irrelevant, particularly in a sport where the guy fights once every three or four months, if that.Fedor, like most other iconic figures, tends to polarize people. There's those who thought he was utterly invincible and the top heavyweight and pound-for-pound fighter in the world now and forever (not me), while others who think even a lower tier new-breed UFC fighter (like, say, Todd Duffee) would smoke him (again, not me). It's somewhere in between. He's had his share of questionable matchups (Choi? The Law? Really?), but Arlovski and Sylvia are perfectly legit opponents (or were, at the time). Calling his opponents for the past five years all clowns is unfair. Also, while I wouldn't say he was embarrassed, he made a mistake (more than one, really) against a jiu-jitsu black belt and paid the price. Wasn't able to wiggle his way to power out of it like he did against Minotauro in similar situations.
