UFC wagering: no longer stuck with the old thread title. The window to change it is here! (4 Viewers)

Didn't end up betting tonight. Almost took Simpson, Brown, Penn and Machida. Just not into it tonight so don;t want to risk anything.

Simpson and Brown...let's go...
 Got Foster and Munoz there bud. I think both will be competitive, but if i had to pick, i like my Foster pick more then my Munoz pick. I still owe you one for the nice parlays i hit from your picks last year (or 2 years ago), so I'm happy to go 1-1 if need be

Hell of a scrap here, and it's great to see Muñoz pull it out.
Great fight. Surprised Simpson was still standing after that head kick.
Yeah, and that spinning back elbow also looked like it landed HARD. Simpson is definitely a tough sonovagun. He wanted to keep going in the Leben fight too, and was upset at the stoppage. From a technical standpoint, Muñoz's striking is still pretty crude, but he just kept up the pressure. Great show of grit and determination.

Is it me, or has Paul Kelly really improved? I can't remember too much of his past fights, and I am embarrased to admit but some of the English guys seem to have arrived in the UFC together and i confuse some of them a lot. Is Kelly one of the more legit guys and has a chance to do something

I'm glad that MMA hasn't become so huge that the UFC can still bring guys in that you have never heard of who are awesome. I should have looked a little more into Falcao before i put Harris in my bigger parlay

As much as I dislike Hughes for his d-bag like personality I think Penn is done.
I'm holding out hope that Edgar is just a terrible style matchup for Penn. If Penn lays an egg tonight, yeah, he's done. But two straight losses to the same guy the same way shouldn't erase the 3 dominating performances before them. We're about to find out. Can't wait. Really excited for this one. My very first MMA bet was on Hughes against Penn in their first fight. Hughes looked completely unstoppable then. Penn looked over his head. Penn by RNC

wow

Let me put my tin foil hat on. It barely looked like Penn touched him with that right hand and Hughes goes straight to his back and is out cold like that?

:lmao:
 Don't listen to me. Honestly though I haven't seen much from Penn in his last several fights.
Ain't no thang. I've lodged my foot in my mouth in similar fashion in previous fights. The combination of the comment and BJ's performance was just comedy gold, though.
The best part is I posted that and then stepped away to look at something on TV my wife wanted me to see. I get back to the computer just in time to see Penn on top of Hughes. :lmao:BTW: Nice to see Karo get stomped. Can't stand him either.

I am beginning to get quite aggravated with Mr. Penn and Mr. Hughes these days. Both of these guys have cost me a bunch. I bet on them, they lose, I bet against them, they win. :lmao:

That was a fair decision.
it's always tough when it is a split decision, but yeah we have certainly a ton more terrible calls then that. This is the kind of fight that supports the opinion of making all main events 5 round fights, but a good fight by both. Wish Rampage would have finished it earlier or let Machida win that decision, but luckily i cleaned up with the undercard (all but that Griffin-Lentz fight which it looks like they won't be showing).

pretty good show overall. I thought the main event decision was solid - I had Rampage winning the first two rounds (although the first could probably have gone either way) and Machida getting the last one.

big fan of George S, the guy is a hell of an exciting grappler. I think this was the first time I'd gotten to see Phil Davis fight and I was really impressed. 205 is just an insane division talent-wise.

That Penn-Hughes fight was shorter than the bar fight that immediately preceded it where I was watching the fight.

It was sad to see Machida lose when he clearly had all the momentum, but Rampage's aggressiveness probably did give him the first two rounds, and that's all it usualy takes. I'm looking forward to the rematch if it does happen.

Dana also announced Penn Fitch for Feb.

____

Pride rules Machida wins that fight. Boxing commission's 10pt must, Rampage wins. MMA needs it's own scoring. They should score rounds 10-10 if no one causes any damage or never puts the other guy in trouble.

Dana announced Sotiropoulos vs. Siver is George's next fight. That should be a good one
Siver, for real? With the win streak George has put together, I thought he'd earned himself a shot against top competition. I like the German and all, but it's a bizarre step down the ladder for Sotiropoulos, who's not getting any younger.

Something's up with BJ. He had circles under his eye and looked like he hadn't slept for days. I've never seen him so amped pre-fight; pacing and talking to himself and just looking agitated. BJ Penn is one of my favorites, but he looked like he was on drugs or something.

100% agree with you here. The guy has been absolutely dominant in almost all of his wins. He's won 7 straight fights here. You would think his next bout should be a number 1 contender type match up or hell, toss him Guida on a Fight Night card.

Really like George, and I'm really disappointed in this.

i really like that fight. I really hope Penn prepares for it and comes out guns blazing and forces Fitch into a fight. I think being forced to watch Fitch beat Penn would be more painful then watching Hughes beat Penn.

He's at best 3rd in line for a title shot. Earliest he'd get a shot is after Maynard and the WEC Champ, so they probably are going to give him a step up to showcase him after this Siver fight on or around the WEC vs UFC LW title fight.
