Dana also announced Penn Fitch for Feb. ____
i really like that fight. I really hope Penn prepares for it and comes out guns blazing and forces Fitch into a fight. I think being forced to watch Fitch beat Penn would be more painful then watching Hughes beat Penn.
I have been wanted to see that fight for a while now. BJ's TD defense and ground game give Fitch the most interesting test that he's going to have in the UFC, outside of GSP.

Dana announced Sotiropoulos vs. Siver is George's next fight. That should be a good one
Siver, for real? With the win streak George has put together, I thought he'd earned himself a shot against top competition. I like the German and all, but it's a bizarre step down the ladder for Sotiropoulos, who's not getting any younger.
He's at best 3rd in line for a title shot. Earliest he'd get a shot is after Maynard and the WEC Champ, so they probably are going to give him a step up to showcase him after this Siver fight on or around the WEC vs UFC LW title fight.
:lmao: this, and i think the card is in Australia so they can get him on the card. Guida or Diego would have been a good match-up too, but Siver has built himself up pretty well, and have him fight while he is hot. George is one of those guys who i think can't have a boring fight, so I'm not sure why they chose Siver, maybe health reasons for some of the other guys

Something's up with BJ. He had circles under his eye and looked like he hadn't slept for days. I've never seen him so amped pre-fight; pacing and talking to himself and just looking agitated. BJ Penn is one of my favorites, but he looked like he was on drugs or something.
Like, what kind of drugs?

Also, did anyone else notice how the bell rang a few seconds too soon to end the first round in the Falcão/Harris fight? Noticed it when it happened, and figured there would be a bigger uproar about it. Sure, Falcão still won, but if he'd choked Harris out right then, I'd have been spared from watching that turd of a third round. :goodposting:

I was really confused when they stopped the round there. I was trying to figure out if the ref had called the fight over for some reason, but I didn't see a tap or sufficient cause to stop the fight. I think I was watching without sound at that point, so I didn't hear the bell, but it just felt like the round got stopped short there based on when the clock disappeared.

was hoping for a better line, and it is moving already, but i like it:

Robbie Lawlor -160 (also got -140 earlier today): 2.5 units

I'm investing a bit in Ruthless here, but I have zero faith in Lindland to do anything. I don't think he has the the strength or power to control Robbie on the mat for 2 of the 3 rounds, so i like this one a bit

completely agree on this, -140 seems like a steali also like kendal grove @ +310 vs Maia. Grove did well on the ground vs Ricardo Almedia, so I don't think Maia insta-taps him and if Grove's striking and length are going to give Maia some problems.

I actually like Lindland to submit Lawler, who is prone to mistakes that allow his opponents to submission victories after being battered on the feet.

Does anyone not like Jonathan Brookins on Saturday?
Nam Phan would have been an easier match-up for him (nam should do very well at 145), but I have to think Brookins wins this. I thought brookins would win the show from the start (I remembered him from his fight against Jose Aldo). His stand-up has me a little worried beacuse he looks stiff as a board and has zero movement, but I think he should win. I do not see any bettting lines out for this one yet, but i imagine brookins will be around -150 or so.ETA: Yuck, Brookins opened up as -265 favorite (just saw -225 at sportsbook).

Some good match-ups for the TUF finale, adding for now:

Nam Phan +140 over Lenoard garcia: 1.5 unit

Dave Branch -145 over Rich Antonito: 1 unit

A couple of other are interesting, but i want to look a little more into it.

:) I put a little on Grove the other night with that as well. Maia likely wins this fight more then 50% of the time, but no way should the odds for the fight be where they are. Along with taking Grove as a big dog, I also hopped on Scott Smith +285 over Paul Daley and Babalu +205 over Dan Henderson. I like the Scott Smith one more then the Babalu one, but I think 2 of these 3 will hit.

Henderson's best shot is a big punch. I think Babalu outclasses him once it hits the mat by a fairly wide margin. Really like Babalu here and really expected it much closer to even.

ETA: Really hard to beat Daley's counter punching. With both of these guys looking to land the big one I don't see Daley losing this one.

I can't remember who Daley fought last on one of the smaller shows, but I know he didn't look good. I don;t like the first two there. Nam didn't show any power and Garcia is as tough as they come. I like Oliveira, but I can't bet against Jim Miller. 5 fight win streak and game anywhere the fight goes.

I came searching for this thread because I saw the line on this today (Smith +300). I agree that Daley should win this, but this line is way too high imo and Smiff makes a nice play here.
Anyone worrying about how Smith will react to his first cut to 170?
Yup, a little worried, but the pictures from the weigh-in have Smith looking alright, a lot better then James Irvin looked after his weight drop. I am not sure how he will be at the weight, if he loses power or conditioning, or anything.Babalu looked like he wasn't too worried about cutting weight for his fight with Hendo. The fact that this fight is at 205 got me thinking that Hendo is not fully invested either. He fights fine at 185, making Babalu fight this at 205 kind of says that Hendo is done cutting weight. Hendo looks in fine shape for the fight, but still something to think about

You're probably right, and I will be pissed if all the legs hit on that parlay and I miss out on Nam Phan or Oliveira. Oliveira won't be that bad, but I will just put a boatload on Miller before that fight to even it out a little bit. Complete shot in the dark, but if i can ghet near $2000 off of $20, I will be a happy man no matter what. I was up a little too late last night and got too parlay happy anyway. I have to avoid the gambling sites when it gets past a certain point, but this is the one my fingers are crossed for. on Henderson and 205, I'm pretty sure I remember reading that he had a lot of trouble with his weight cut to fight Jake Shields, and he's decided that it'd be better for him to stay at light heavy for future fights from now on. Dunno what that says about his investment in the fight - he's getting pretty old to be stepping in the cage though. Babalu is gonna be a solid test to see what's really going on there, whether the UFC was premature in cutting Henderson or if Strikeforce has an over-the-hill fighter on their hands. I'm gonna be rooting for Dan to pull it off and set up a title fight vs. Feijao.I think Scott Smith is gonna get beat down in spectacular fashion tonight - after watching Cung Le treat him like a speed bag in both their fights, I gotta believe Daley is gonna murder him. and I think Mike Kyle's actually a pretty dangerous replacement opponent for Bigfoot and probably has a better chance to win than Overeem's brother did. This might be the best fight of the night - I'm still leaning toward Bigfoot winning though, his size is probably gonna be the deciding factor.picks:St. Preaux SilvaLawlerDaleyHenderson

Surprised with the Nam phans in the crowd
That is a horrendous decision, hurts more because of the money invested in Nam, but no doubt Nam won 29-28 winning the 2nd and 3rd rounds, have no idea how you see it differently, no idea.Edit: at least nice to hear that Rogan and most think it should have been 30-27 Nam. I thought the 1st could go either way, but absolutely no way he should have lost that fight. They have to fix the scoring soon (actually more so the judges they have then the scoring). Just realized the killing it put on the parlays, and now it goes from dissapointment to pissed at this crap :hot:

Prior to the decision, I was typing out something along the lines of "Garcia may never be a top fighter due to his lack of striking defense and always pushing an insane pace to the point of gassing out, but MAN, he puts on some exciting fights!"

 He does, but he will not be winning too many of them. He has an iron chin though too. IF somehow him and Chris Leben could fight it would be fun.And what they really need to do is have the judges explain how they scored a fight. For the life of me, I can not figure out how Garcia won 2 rounds. The 1st possibly, absolutely no way he could have won the 2nd, and the 3rd I can't figure out how they could think he won that one either

Tell us how you really feel about the judging, Joe.
I'm glad he said what he did. kudos.
 Same here, that decision was a good example and a good time for him to rant. As opposed to other clseo decisions because of some grappling, etc, this one seemed very clear. If i miss out on a few grand because of it i will be #####in' about it for a long time. At least it is was obvious, and no way Nam will get let go or anything because of it

What was wrong with that? Too bad more mainstream commentators don't blast sports reffing/umping/judging in general like that.
Where did I say there was anything wrong with it?
My bad. I thought you were implying something else.
Nope. Just thought it was a funny rant. Worst decision I've ever seen in MMA.
