UFC wagering: no longer stuck with the old thread title. The window to change it is here! (3 Viewers)

100% certain that they used to use the smaller cage just for fight nights. Not sure if it changed at some point or not, I haven't paid much attention. Think back to Silva vs Leben for example, small cage.
All depends on the venue. If it will fit the larger cage, they use it, if not they go to the smaller one.

I think Rogan mentioned long ago that the smaller events get the smaller cage while PPVs and big Fox events get the 30' cage. They take the 25' octagon on the road.

Guess I should watch that last card then. Sucks that Bruce Leeroy lost, i like that guy.
He trains at the MMA Lab in AZ. I've gotten to know him a little bit and he's a super cool guy. Really bummed he lost.
Don't really understand why a guy who is 10-8 (now) and 5-5 in UFC contests is even in the UFC.

I am not familiar with him so what am I missing?

He's a character and was quite entertaining on TUF

If he was a random, nondescript guy he would likely have been cut after his first two loses but his "fame" saved his job. He then went 5-1, 1NC. Probably gets the axe now that he has lost 3 straight.

ETA: and the NC was because he failed a drug test. So he went 6-1 in the cage... and the loss was because he was deducted 2 points for **** kicking.

he was on a pretty good run, but I think he has lost a few in a row. but one of those was to Faber, and he always puts on fun fights. he did look to be improving, like Neil Magny, but has fallen short lately.

there are so many friggin fights and cards now I can barely remember the loss he just had this past weekend, that is bad.

Not only that, but his fights in the UFC are rarely boring. Going from (shoddy) memory, it seems like win or lose that most of his fights are finishes instead of decisions.

Werdum is such a strange personality. He either is completely clueless or the ultimate troll. I re-watched the Hunt fight last night and the best part was when Hunt goes to give him a fist bump acknowledging the win and Werdum instead takes his water bottle from his hand, takes a big drink, smiles and hands it back. And then there was this gem of a moment:

I'm a fan of AKA though. You've seen the Fight Factory documentary, right?

yeah, i think i saw that.

watching Rothwell on Inside MMA, yeah dude is a weird guy. but not in a dangerous way, i like him

still watching Inside MMA, and still hating AKA. DC and Melendez just talk so much ####
Is Melendez with AKA now?
been digging holes all morning, and always team Eddie so i guess Melendez is on my mind.

but Javier Mendez can suck a d too. what other coach has to make sure they get in on all these interviews fight week. Greg Jackson comes time to time, but nobody else has to find this camera time and talk #### about other fighters. :X

Mo I know Eddie's your boy. what are your thoughts on tonight? I think Eddie is in a lot of trouble.
hard to judge this fight objectively. But Eddie looked ok with Cowboy until the leg kicks kept landing. i'm sure it will be a good fight, i know that. Also not sure Melendez's motivation after losing to Pettis last, but i don't think that will be an issue. If Eddie is on, his speed should be better than Gil's and i'm not sure where Gil is that significantly better than him. Also think Eddie's fight against Cowboy was too much too quick. huge lay-off with tons of headaches, and i know octagon jitters got him.

Local theater showing the fight on the Big Screen for $15...worth it to see?
Do they serve alcohol?

You couldn't pay me enough to be in a theater full of MMA fans. No offense.
Yea, this one does. Actually has a full bar and bistro for food...thought that $15 was a good deal.
it is. agreed if packed with MMA fans could be annoying, but from what i have heard turnout isn't great. i recommend going, and would love to hear how it goes

how the hell do they try to push Cain as "the baddest man on the planet" when he has only fought the same 2 guys (JDS and Bigfoot) since mid-2011? I really would love Jones to come back to the UFC as a HWY, thus giving the finger to DC to not let him get a rematch, and taking the belt from Cain immediately

To be fair, JDS was a worthy adversary until Cain beat the life out of him.

Think about how cocky Cormier is. They asked him on twitter what would be the right line for a matchup with Cain and DC said Cain -400. I say he is every bit worthy of the praise.

well, the hate for Cain is strong in myself. let's see tonight, though i do think Jones destroys him fairly easily

Without Cain dealing with some type of injury? No way jose, Cain would brutalize Jones.

Mo, what would Cain have to do to impress you tonight?
good question. i think steamrolling Werdum would certainly make me think he is much more legit. 5 fights since 2011 with the same 2 guys leaves me wanting more. this fight should be a good test

Cain has steamrolled everyone he's faced during his title run, the lone exception being coming back early from a shoulder injury and 10 pounds over his normal fight weight.
