I have to admit.  It's much more fun being on an island in my hatred of Conman McGreggor.  I'm gonna enjoy his fall from grace, but it's happening way sooner than even I expected.

 
cancel the card, blame McGreggor and then go after him financially.  I got a little worried about my "broke and in a gutter" prediction after he hit it big with that Mayweather payday, but this could be a legal avalanche that wipes out that windfall.

More weight classes in boxing = less weight cutting.

95% of the time when fighters pull out of cards within 48h of the fight, its because of complications from the cut.  

(The other 5% is when a leprechaun throws moving equipment through a bus window)

Matches get pushed back or scrapped or have a replacement via injury all the time. Having a big-name fighter agree to take a fight with a week to go and make a drastic weight cut to do so, I don't think that's ever happened.

 
They should have the main event be a fatal-four-way from a  hospital basement, no holds barred,  Tony vs chiesa vs Borg vs Holloway,  Artem can be the special referee.  As Borg is about to finish Holloway with a Bravo-twister, camera feed cuts to Joe Son and Aleksander Emilianenko in a jail cell fashioning a crude explosive device.  They set it off, it blows the side and back wall out of their cell freeing them and a now visible Conor was in the next cell.  The three of them steal a laundry truck and fill it with jet fuel and drive to the hospital crash into a corner of the building bringing the entire building down right before Max can verbally  submit. 

Cut to black.  Roll credits.

Artem Lobov: Khabib stop it

Lobov : I didn't mean it

Not quite sure what's keeping them from making it Nurmagomedov/Pettis. Saw that he had .2lb to cut after the initial weigh-in (AYFKM), but they didn't let him weigh him again?

Edit: I guess it's that the UFC and Pettis' team haven't agreed on terms for the fight?

A loss to Khabib likely hurts his rankings/pay cheques/contract. He’s stepping into a much tougher fight with zero prep. Including now a 5 round fight. He deserves to be paid significantly more. Plus, he has more leverage because of the situation and tried to use this to his advantage. He gambled and lost. However the UFC gambled that they had a replacement and they apparently lost. Really everyone one involed is in a net negative situation.

Yeah, this makes sense.

 
Don't know if Pettis is even worrying about rankings at this point in his career, but he definitely had the leverage to get paid more for the fight. The UFC is the silliest.

 
Pettis would have been is a joke.  I could have gotten on board with Al vs Khabib though.  That would have put Felder in a ####ty spot, but they could have tried to do Pettis vs Felder.

An NYPD source said that McGregor has been cooperative. He has a lot of fans on the force. One told me McGregor was seen shadowboxing as he was awaiting his arraignment.
