Ultimate IDP Survivor Contest (1 Viewer)

This thing is filling up so I thought I'd better throw my resume in there.

-This is my 20th season of playing IDP

-I'm an active poster to this IDP forum

-I currently play in 5 IDP leagues. Including one with 2 staffers (Bloom & Borberly)

-I'm always very active. I'm lucky enough to have access to the net from work.

I want to play against the best of the best... as always.

Throwing my hat in the ring

I've played IDP for 6 years now.

I've won SBs in:

Ironman3 (Warroom)

Zealots1

ZFAC1 (auction,contract,idp)

In lgs with Bloom, Borbely, Bramel, Baker, Magaw, Rudnicki

Thanks to those who have already expressed an interest :excited: . We're rapidly approaching 40 self-nominations, so it's likely we'll be including a fourth Leg 1 league. That will necessitate one extra team being voted out in the Leg 1 leagues, but no other major structural changes.

We'll close this thread to self-nominations at 7pm ET on Monday (July 7), so there's a few days left to express an interest. There are still some veteran heavy hitters that have yet to throw a hat into the ring  . The list of message board invites will be posted by Friday, July 11, and we'll have the logistics of each league finalized by Monday, July 14 to give all participants a week to prepare.

Responsibilities of the message board owners:

**Slow draft on MFL (with timer) to begin not before July 21st.

**Expected availability for slow draft to begin between Weeks 8 and 9 of the NFL regular season and a Saturday afternoon finish if we aren't finished.

After the draft, your team will manage itself. No waivers, no free agents, no lineup decisions. We'll keep track of who's still alive each week after the scores have been added on MFL. And it's a freeroll, there are no league fees whatsoever. You may participate in both Survivor contests.

Perks include great competition, fabulous prizes, serious bragging rights and a chance to knock the staff around a bit.

I would very much like to compete against the best IDP'ers in FF!

I can commit to the July 21 slow draft and also to the midseason redraft.

I have played FF for over 12 years, IDP for 10+

looking forward to the challenge......

tec

Week 8 starts on October 26th and Week 9 starts on November 2nd. Cancel your Halloween plans ladies. :goodposting:

I`d be interested in the IDP Survivor contest . I`m a long time IDP dynasty league player . I`ve also been a frequent member of the SSL and MBSL . I won SSL 1 in 2006 and have a pretty consistent record in the survivor format . Looking forward to a shot at this one .

Count me in.

I commit to be available for the July 21 slow draft in addition to the week 8 draft.

If I am fortunate enough to be selected, I would like to request the 'Balanced' IDP scoring leg if possible.

Thanks in advance for the consideration.

If you have any room left I would like to give it a shot. I hang around here quite often and only play in IDP leagues.

I prefer balanced scoring system if possible.

Was hoping to be able to toss my name in the hat, but the uncertainty of my availability for the initial draft has been a problem.

I would love to play, but I am just not sure I can devote the time that would be needed. Keep me in mind as an alternate.

Sign me up. I am a fantasy football junkie, and it has to be IDP. The only way to go. My schedule is completely clear, especially when FF is involved. ;) I don't care whose league I am in but the tougher the competition, the better I like it. However, I have pitted my skills against CC, Bloom, OBX, and Pretender among others on a few occassions, so let's get it on again.

Couple of hours left to note your interest in the thread. We'll be closing the thread to nominations at 7pm ET to finish the selection process by midweek. Anyone signing up after that time will be considered as alternates should we need them.

I would like to toss my name in the hat.

I’ve altered some contingent plans and will now be available for the initial draft. The other draft wasn’t an issue, should that come into play.

I post fairly regular and I’ve been throwing my  around this forum for a couple of years. Redraft is not my comfort zone, neither is big play IDP. My mind, or at least what’s left of it, defaults to dynasty, so some reprogramming will be required.

This is my 24th year of FF and they all have been with IDP. Like most everyone else in the forum, I’ve been fortunate enough to have had some success thru the years.

It would be an honor and privilege to get an opportunity to participate in a league with all you IDP redraft sharks. :bag:

I'd like to thank FBG for puttin this thing together for the IDP forum community.

Did I suck up enough ;)

I'd like to be considered if it's not too late. I've been on vacation and hadn't visited the IDP forum recently.

The full roster of message board invites (and alternates) is below.

We had 42 self-nominations :lmao: . Fortunately, that allowed us to add a fourth Leg 1 league to the contest. Unfortunately, we still had to randomly bump two interested participants (sorry Patsfan39 and bro1ncos -- the dice weren't kind to you).

What we need from each of you ASAP is the following:

Send an email to bramel@footballguys.com from an email account that you'll be checking regularly for updates. Include your ranked preference for the following four potential leagues -- tackle heavy, balanced, big play heavy, balanced auction (the scoring systems are in the initial two posts).

If there is enough interest in the auction, we may make one of the Leg 1 leagues an auction. Those who have already posted preferences in this thread should still email me. Once I have received emails from all participants, I'll open the MFL leagues and send invites via email. If I haven't heard from a selected participant by Monday, July 14th, I'll offer that spot to the next alternate on the list (those following along may still nominate themselves as alternates). Drafts will begin on MFL on Monday, July 21st. Should there be an auction, it will be a slow auction with proxy bidding to begin on or shortly after July 21st.

Congratulations. We'll see you in the draft rooms soon.

Jene, any chance of you telling up which staffer will be in which league?

By the way, thanks for having me.

I'd like to note my preference of "balanced" followed by "Tackle heavy" and lastly "Big play". I"m ok with any, balanced is just the preference.

I'm going to need an email address to keep you updated on the status of the league.

Please keep me in mind for the replacement list, or if you add additional teams.

I can commit to both dates.

I've been lurking in the FBG forums for the last several years and have ~5 years of experience with dynasty IDP on 3 teams.

My preference would be 1) tackle heavy followed by 2) balanced scoring.

Thanks!

Choices, choices.........so many choices. Thanks for the invite, Jean and I am really looking forward to this. :whoosh:

It would be nice if the public could follow the contest/drafts.

Really interested in how the Big Play turns out.

If you need another alternate...

Good Luck with the contest.

We'll be posting the league links here and the weekly contest results in this thread. David may have something planned for the website as he did last year with the board vs staff challenge.

If you don't see your name bolded in Post 68, I haven't received a preference email from you yet. The FBG address is pretty particular -- if you misspell a last name, the recipient does not get the message. If I don't reply to an email within a few hours, please send me a PM and include your email address with your league preferences.

i would be very interested in playing

IDP forum is always the most articulate and well thought out analysis with out all the drama of the SP

would love to compete against the posters/staff here to test my IDP skill

You are too late. It has been up for weeks, but nominations are now closed.Gees, the thread has only been up since June 30. Seemed to be up longer than that.

oops received a PM to get my butt in here and apply, shoulda checked the date on the PM LOL

PMs have gone out to those who have yet to respond with an email address and Leg 1 preferences. If your name isn't bolded in Post 68 and you haven't received a confirmation response from me, please send (or resend) your preferences from an account you'll check regularly for updates to bramel@footballguys.com.

I'd like to have everyone slotted in a league by Monday to give everyone a week to prepare strategy, etc. I'll start lining up alternates next Monday and plugging them into open slots shortly thereafter.

Okay IDPers,

Every message boarder who has received an invite has checked in and the MFL leagues have been generated. I'll keep the names of the alternates in case someone isn't able to draft next week. Nearly every message boarder got their first or second choice of Leg 1 preference. We were three shy of filling an auction league, so we'll have two balanced scoring leagues instead.

Draft order will be randomly generated by tomorrow afternoon.

Drafts will start next Monday, July 21st, around noon EDT. The full rule set for the Leg 1 leagues, including scoring systems, can be found under the League Rules tab on the MFL sites. Invites will go out to the email you sent me later tonight. If you don't receive your MFL invite and passwords, check your spam boxes then email (bramel@footballguys.com) or PM me ASAP. I'd like everyone to sign in to their respective leagues at your earliest convenience so I know where things stand.

Good luck everybody.

Some tough competition in Big Play, but I'll be ready.
I don't think there's an easy league in this bunch actually. There's a bunch of heavy-hitting vets in each league and I'd bet the quiet ones aren't going to be pushovers either. The winner will have earned the title.

Jene, will the positions the players are drafted at be locked in for the season? They should be. (since there is no trading and no waiver pickups)

I know MFL sometimes changes a players position mid season- S to CB , DT to DE , DE to LB etc.

The positional designations are subject to change by MFL. I know that's an issue with Terrell Suggs and Jason Taylor this offseason, but for the sake of consistency, I'm not going to change the clearly incorrect players now and I'm not going to arbitrarily change them later. With rare exception, it's pretty clear where these players should be designated. It'll be buyer beware on some of them this year, but there's some room for play in a best ball scoring setup. However, wherever MFL slots them before Week 1, that's where they'll be for the entire season. From the rule page:**All positional designations with be per the MFL website and are subject to change before Week 1.

Gholston is listed as a DE. :lmao:

it would be awesome if some people who are checking in here and participating in the IDP survivor leagues could also take a few minutes and contribute some thoughts and projections to the IDP spotlight threads. these aren't going to be as successful without more contributions from the boards.

If ya made it a requirement to get in the IDP survivor, bet you'd see more participation.
