Ultimate Survivor - Leg 1 - League 10 (1 Viewer)

Best ball? Right... I might have missed that part.
Ditto. Or I just skipped over it without realizing it. I saw the required lineup and the scoring rules and drafted accordingly...or so I though. Oh well, maybe my all rookie bench can come through for me in weeks 5 & 6.
:excited: I would of taken another TE another PK and at least two more Defenses and would of drafted WRs in the 2nd and 4th rounds.. Seems like this format should have been stressed more, who else was unaware of this?
It was in the league description when you signed up, and I repeated it right before the draft started.
You and your fine print Gray.. Your cheating ways will only earn you a one way ticket to the bone yard.No matter.., I will make some sweet trades and waiver wire transactions to make up for it.
fine print, waiver wire, trades, I am just gonna assume I am missing the :sarcasm:
I did lay it on pretty thick..

How does the app work? What does it base the results on? SOS, player projections, etc.?Just curious...

Also, where do you need to finish to make it to the next round? Top 7? Assuming the 5 eliminated are out?

I have to say this league is a bit weird, in that I have been unable to find any thread which clearly states how the Survivor leagues work. I looked at the pinned thread, I looked at the league threads... even in the Mock Drafts forum. No rules on how people advance anywhere. :lmao: No complaints... I had fun drafting, even if I was a bit sleep deprived when doing so. And whether I advance or not doesn't really matter to me, since I didn't understand how things were working. Just find it odd that no clear summary of how this league works was available anywhere. And I'm obviously not the only one who feels that way.

I'm wondering how top-4 is even determined, when you only have 5 weeks to knock out 8 people basically.

Someone with a lesser squad could go gangbusters in 3 weeks and end up a top-4 total points team, but if their squad had to last a season they'd be gone. I dunno.

These first 5 weeks are best ball. Essentially, you will have a record after each week. The top team will end up 11-0. The bottom team will end up 0-11. The team in 3rd will end up 9-2. The following week, you will get another record again going H2H against every team. At the end of the 5 weeks, the top 4 combined records advance. So, a team bombing in any 1 week is going to have a hard time advancing without being the top scorer in 1-2 weeks. For example, if your team finished 3rd in scoring each of the 5 weeks, you'd have a combined 45-10 record (9-2 + 9-2 + 9-2 + 9-2 + 9-2).

i.e.--score as many points as you can which is the bottomline in any format.

Here are the general rules from the first Ultimate Survivor call-out thread.
Leg 1 Details:

These leagues will be a combination of Best ball and Survivor (ie no transactions). The Survivor leagues will vote off 2,1,2,1,2 in their five weeks (to get to 4 teams). Best ball will be cumulative record against the other teams.

Owners will not submit lineups. The best available lineup will be scored from your entire roster of players based on the starting requirements as defined.

Each league will have 2 staff and 10 message board entries.

The following will apply to all drafts:

- Drafts will be conducted on MyFantasyLeague.com. Auctions will be completed on FantasyAuctioner.com

- Drafts/Auctions will be 22 rounds

- Draft position will be random using Irony Dice Roll Server once the league is filled.

- There are no positional restrictions during the draft.
All league specific scoring was noted in the subsequent signup threads, as well as the linked thread above.

OK, I think I understand that... since there's no H2H you are going against the entire league each week. Cool.

That's what I was looking for...I never viewed the original thread, as I was an At-Large add on to the league.

Interesting. I too was drafting not for first place, but a top 4 finish to advance. I really wasn’t too concerned with bye weeks, and I felt the league put too much value in a 5 week player. That being said I did go too far and screwed myself with too many players on a 4th week bye (my initial strategy was to take 4th week bye players without concern). I think I went too far and tried to adjust, but I felt I came up short in covering week 4, which by design is my toughest week.

LOL at all the folks that didn't both to read or understand the rules before drafting. ARod, looks like you bascially got a bye to second round.

the MFL "beta" draft analysis...of course it doesn't take into account the 'short season' for us either
Is this on every MFL site? Where is it found?
Once the draft is complete it should be there...pull up the draft report and there is a tab at the top that says 'Beta'You could take the link from above and replace your league ID number and it might work, just not sure if the draft has to be finished or not before it shows up

Their analysis is completely based off ADP... which doesn't really come into play in this draft, with best ball and a short season.
Or the true studliness of Felix Jones.
Well if they could predict the future they'd be money  . But apparently I'm the only one who knows how good Jones is going to be.

Yeah, the Steve Smith suspension is really going to screw me. I liked my draft otherwise. Clearly the MFL rater didn't like it so much, but ignoring that it's best ball and just a 5 week league makes a huge difference IMO.

So close couldn't overcome the Brady injury, he easily would have put me into the middle of the pack. Holt and Coles' severe suckitude didn't help anything either. GL guys!

it's a best ball league. nobody gets eliminated.

nice job so far, switz

surprised to see my team in 3rd with Carson Palmer, Vince Young, and Alex Smith at QB.

Don't try to take #1 away from me.
Looks like I've done that pretty easily. :goodposting:
Yep, good job. After 11-0 for week 3, I fully expect to be back at 1-10 for week 4. Guess I better start brushing up on caption contests for next year.
Well, after 3 great weeks, I totally crapped the bed this week. At least in week 5, I should be better, but I don't know if I'll finish in first place after this week... I'l probably slide into second and have ground to make up next week.

Damn. Half my team out with injury and lose out by one game. Tough pill to swallow :ptts:

Thanks to Clayton and FBG...that was fun! Much appreciated

Houston's week 2 bye when I drafted to avoid any of the week 4 or 5 byes hurt. No AJ or Schaub and missed by only 2 games.

Congrats to the top 4, was fun.
