Who picked the winners?

What did they base the winners on?
If we laughed. In all seriousness, a panel of staff were assigned each contest distinctly. We each nominated people independently and then narrowed it down from there. Also keep in mind that many people submitted entries for multiple contests. In the event someone was in the running for multiple categories, we gave them one spot, and went on to the next person.

Also keep in mind that this is a subjective thing. I was a judge for several of the contests and can tell you that this wasn't easy. There were a ton of laugh out loud captions and while we agreed unanimously on a few in each, there were some that missed out I'm sure each of us felt deserved to make the cut.

The good news is we're paying close attention to those people who either almost made the cut but fell short and/or submitted a lot of entries (i.e., gave it the old college try). Effort will be a factor in determining the wild card entries for sure.
very surprised that no one laughed at the mad crapper works for charmin fake email enough to get it in. Oh well. I think these are won before they are even played out. There is an inner circle of posters who are very well liked here and if your not in it you don't stand much of a chance of winning anything on this board and its been that way for a long long time. If your known and liked around here then all you have to do is submit and your in and if its the other way around and you are new or unknown don't even think about winning anything. No matter what anyone says about this i have read this board long enough know this is the truth.
:lmao: You should have submitted this post instead of the one that had the 6 year old poop joke in it.

Wow - was pretty surprised to find the PM from Clayton this morning! ;) Thanks guys!

My preference on leagues is:

2

8

11

Thanks again!

I prefer league 8, though I am uncertain of the difference between survivor and best ball. I'll take any league that rewards 6 points per passing TD, and especially if it rewards PPR. If not 8, then 2 or 12.

Choices:

A. League 8

B. League 2

C. League 12

Ollie, aka radballs, is out of town without internet access. I spoke to him this morning and he said he is definitely interested in playing.

Give him League 11, 8 or 2.

Aw man. I have availability issues with almost all of the leagues. With the exceptions of 6 (which is full) and 12 I would be able to attend the beginning of the draft but wouldn't be available for the duration of it. Going up against such great players with anything less than 100% focus won't be nearly enough to win. It looks like I'm going to have to pass up on the offer unfortunately but I know somebody deserving will take my spot and do a good job though.

However in a couple of weeks if there's still any openings for league 12(ppr, auction, best ball) then I'll see what I can do. If you can't hold a spot for me though then that's cool. I definitely understand.

If 6 works for you, I can move to 5 as it works just as well for me.

In both cases, your best possible line-up is automatically started for you each week. Also, there is no free agency. In Best Ball, each team plays every other team each week. The highest scoring team will get an 11-0 record for the week, the second-highest team will get an 10-1 record for the week, etc.In Survivor, the lowest scoring team(s) is(are) eliminated each week.

Here are the Leagues choices:

League 3 - Tuesday, July 22nd - 8:30 PM Eastern (3 spots left)

Message Board Entrants: Worm, Shipshewana Psychos, Denver90, footballman_696969, renesauz, Unlucky, eric rymer

Auction/Perf (4 pt pass TDs, 6 pt rush/receive TDs, 1/20, 1/10)

Start 1 QB, 2RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 PK, 1 Def

Best Ball
PPR?

In the past, these have been one night drafts. The last one I was involved in a couple of years ago lasted 6+ hours. At a minute a pick, which is ambitious, you're still looking at 4.5 hours. A 10:30 pm EDT start time means a 3 am finish best case and likely a 4 am plus finish. I hope people are factoring this into their selections and don't bail at the last moment when they realize what they have committed to.

Thanks guys. I am honored. Really, I am.

Set me in League 2,5, 8 or 11.

Basically any that aren't an auction. Haven't developed that far yet. Thanks again.

D.
I've never done an auction, either, but I figure two things.First, I definitely wasn't expecting an at-large selection, so everything after this is already just gravy.

Second, in a contest THIS massive, the only way to stand a chance is with an UNBELIEVABLE dose of good fortune, and I figure I'm far more likely to get my hands on a heaping helping of that "luck" stuff if I'm just stumbling around blindly with no idea what's going on than I am if I let little inconsequential things like reason and experience get in the way.

I figure if I wind up in an auction league, I'm far more likely to flame out in the first round... but I'm also far more likely to go the distance. So bring it on.

Actually, that might be better than my original entry...It was just meant to be...You cannot change the order of the universe.

I think that league was an anomaly. There really isn't a reason for an online draft to last six hours.

LOL. I know what it stands for. Will we be using PPR in league 3? It did not state that.

I'm willing to wager that more of these take over 6 hours (1m 22s / pick) than finish under 4.5 hours. Doesn't bother me, just wanted people to understand this in advance and plan accordingly. With this being ultimate survivor, burning a vacation day shouldn't be out of the question. :bag:

I don't gamble, but I'll be pretty bummed if these draft take six hours (note that I'll be commishing every one of them).

I feel your pain....

Half of the leagues are full. Are we waiting for all drafts to fill up before we determine draft order for each league? Just getting anxious to start running some mocks...

I'll start getting the draft orders going sometime tomorrow.

League 3

League 11

Let's start there and see if I need to add more choices. Actually, I'm guessing if these choices are taken, I am going to be slotted in whatever spot is free.

League 3 - Tuesday, July 22nd - 8:30 PM Eastern (3 spots left)

Staff entrants: David Dodds, Maurile Tremblay

Message Board Entrants: Worm, Shipshewana Psychos, Denver90, footballman_696969, renesauz, Unlucky, eric rymer, Sweeper

Auction/Perf (4 pt pass TDs, 6 pt rush/receive TDs, 1/20, 1/10)

Start 1 QB, 2RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 PK, 1 Def

Best Ball
I'd like to claim a spot in league 3 before it fills. If it's too late then the other auction is my preference.

I was referring to the "well liked" part... but notice I only opted for best ball leagues... and it's an online, not live draft.
