I'd like league #4 please.
Note: This post is a work in progress. It will include links to the contests, players selected, etc as that is warranted....David.
------------------------------------------------------
"Ultimate Survivor" will consist of 12 different 12-team leagues to start (144 players). Leg 1 Drafts/Auctions will take place from Sunday, July 20th through Saturday, August 2nd.
There are 7 Ways to get a message board entry into this contest:
Keep contributing quality posts in the Shark Pool. 30 spots will be chosen on July 11th by staff to compete in this contest.
Final 30 spots are determined tomorrow.Have the random entries been decided an I've just not found them?
That was nice to read. Thanks very much.Captain Quinoa said:Everyone lining up quickly for league 7 to spank Woodrow.Oh, and if the guy who did "Favre drunk-dials Packers" hadn't gotten in I would have given him my spot.

3RR is third round reversal. It goes 1-12, 12-1, 12-1, 1-12, 12-1, 1-12, etc. The third round reverses to balance the drafting a bit. KDS stands for Kentucky Derby Seeding. Every drafter ranks the draft spots from 1-12 and then you get your top selection that is available when your name is called. This gives more people a chance at a desireable spot. NFFC refers to the National Fantasy Football Championships and they use these rules. 0.5/1/1 refers to 0.5 points per reception for RBs, 1 point per reception for WRs and TEs.Can someone tell me what this means in league #4
"PPR (NFFC rules, 3RR, KDS - 0.5. 1, 1)"
I just don't know what 3RR and KDS means.
Let me go with league #1 first and then league #4 as a backup. Thanks.
Thanks very much for that explanation. I think I'll stick with league #1 but I'll follow the results of that draft if you post it. I can see a lot of advantages to it. Much respect for this elaborate system to get the board involved. Definitely fosters a community feeling.3RR is third round reversal. Here's another truth. You are whining. To say that because some people don't find what you wrote funny, they are cheating is all kinds of silly. Humor is very subjective. As a group they might have laughed at your crappy (While I'm betting you will be offended at this description, others will find the irony using the subject of your email funny) fake, but I'm betting they just plain thought the other ones funnier.Beantown said:very surprised that no one laughed at the mad crapper works for charmin fake email enough to get it in. Oh well. I think these are won before they are even played out. There is an inner circle of posters who are very well liked here and if your not in it you don't stand much of a chance of winning anything on this board and its been that way for a long long time. If your known and liked around here then all you have to do is submit and your in and if its the other way around and you are new or unknown don't even think about winning anything. No matter what anyone says about this i have read this board long enough know this is the truth. If we laughed. In all seriousness, a panel of staff were assigned each contest distinctly. We each nominated people independently and then narrowed it down from there. Also keep in mind that many people submitted entries for multiple contests. In the event someone was in the running for multiple categories, we gave them one spot, and went on to the next person.Who picked the winners?
What did they base the winners on?
Also keep in mind that this is a subjective thing. I was a judge for several of the contests and can tell you that this wasn't easy. There were a ton of laugh out loud captions and while we agreed unanimously on a few in each, there were some that missed out I'm sure each of us felt deserved to make the cut.
The good news is we're paying close attention to those people who either almost made the cut but fell short and/or submitted a lot of entries (i.e., gave it the old college try). Effort will be a factor in determining the wild card entries for sure.

Really? I don't recognize all that many of the winners and I'm here way more than I should be. I think humor is just very subjective. I'm pretty known in person as a very funny guy, but I seldom get any laughs with my jokes on here, including my fake email about Mike Brown and the "Staff" infection. I don't consider myself part of any inner circle here, and I thought my winning submission was the least funny of all of my submissions. Goes to show you that humor is subjective, and your not going to help yourself at all complaining that people don't find you funny. If he turned his whining into a Fake Email, he might have a chance here....Really? Best Ball = Everyone plays against every other team. Rank everyone's points for the week, top team goes 11-0, 2nd goes 10-1, last goes 0-11. Add up records over the weeks to see which teams move on.Survivor = Each week separate. Low team(s) by points eliminated.Best Ball and Survivor?Quick definition, anyone?

Hope a dozen attmpts (9 caption and 3 fake e-mails), while apparently not belly-busters, were good enough for the ol' college try. I hope that I might be lucky enough to gain an "at large bid" today to have the opportunity to compete with some of the best FF minds in the world. I hope the judges take in to consideration that I am from a small conference, play on the west coast, and have a high RPI....but who knows - I may not even be on the bubble. If we laughed. Yes the auctions will be a $200 cap. Best Ball (and Survivor too) will just take the best performances each week. We know everyone is busy with many other leagues so we want this to be a draft and forget about it situation. Thanks so much for including me!
My choices are: 3/12/1 in that order.
Quick question about best ball - Do we submit a lineup each week, or does it take our best performances at each position for us.
Edit to add: Do we start with $200 for the auctions?

Holy ****. That'd be sweet even with all the people not into fantasy football looking at you like you are a moron for displaying a fantasy football trophy.
Oddly enough however, a fake news report stating that Steven Jackson's colonic isn't funny might've made the cutGood luck to all the winners!Show no mercy to the staff, who surely tremble before the collected might of the Shark Pool.
Note to self, Steven Jackson's colonic is not universally hilarious.
