Ummmm.....NFL INJURY REPORT HAS ALEXANDER "PROBABLE"! (1 Viewer)

IIRC, the updated injury list doesn't hit the NFL site for a few hours.

FYI, pretty sure that's last week's reportedit: weird, it's this weeks matchups with last week's injuries
Until they have the updated injury reports for the week, they go forward with how a player was listed the week before. Alexander was probable going into last Sundays game so this is how they have him listed right now. They have yet to update the site, but once they do he will be listed as doubtful.

Per FBG blogger

RB Alexander's Foot All Healed?

Mike Sando, Tacoma News Tribune - [Full Article]

Seattle Seahawks RB Shaun Alexander hopes to play Sunday vs. Chicago. Alexander is crediting the power of prayer for possibly healing the cracked bone in his left foot. The foot stopped hurting Tuesday and word spread as Alexander began alerting friends and family. UPDATE 1:15 Pacific Time: HC Mike Holmgren verified the report in his press conference and said Alexander has a chance to play Sunday pending the results of additional medical examinations today. Alexander came to work today without his walking boot, and was apparently jumping around to prove his good health.

Maybe more to the story than you think.

why are teams playing these games with the injury list this year. First portis, that went on for a month and now this. :wall:
Reading comprehension down? It's the website that's using old info, not the teams.
Holgrem said today he'll probably go.
I'll take that bet. Alexander has been hurt for the past two weeks, and do not see him being good to go for this week's game. Homlgren is using this to make Chicago actually game plan for Alexander, rather than saying Alexander is out and Chicago gameplans for Morris and a big time passing attack.

That's last week's.Here's last week's injury report. Notice any similarities:

Seahawks

Shaun Alexander RB L Foot P P P

Itula Mili TE L Knee Q Q Q

Floyd Womack G L Knee O O O

Jerramy Stevens TE L Knee O O O

Also, that link you provided shows Vernon Davis as "Probable" with a shin injury. He has a broken leg and is Out. Last week, however, he was struggling with a shin injury he sustained in the Arizona game.

Again, this is last week's injury report.

I completely agree with you but just relaying info. But this is just getting to be so standard for coaches to do I'm sure your right.

Can't say that I necessarily disagree with you, but Alexander reaggravated the injury early in last weeks game and continued to play deep into the third quarter while his team was up by approx. 30 points. I wouldn't be surprised if the injury is not as serious as reported earlier. There are several bones in the foot that can be broken and cause pain, but wouldn't necessarily force you to miss games. Obviously it is not a good thing for a RB, but it comes down to pain tolerance.

They are two seperate injuries. He started the game as probable due to a bruise, not a broken foot. The Seahawks have already said they do not know when Alexander actually broke his bone in the game, so I am unsure how you know he broke it early in the game.
