Not tryin to make this a coaching issue, and maybe it should be there, but hear me out.
We are in the 3rd week of the season, and several trends have started, but there are 2 that I am concerned with.
The one catch to this, is that we have set roster spots. . .meaning we can only have 4 RB, or 6 WR. . .and we HAVE to have 2 kickers and 2 DEF. . . .so we cant drop a kicker to roster an extra RB or WR.
1 - Players that are out performing their projections and may still be on the wire. These are players that for 2 weeks straight have had better than average performances, but the question is how long with it last. The problem with these players is that you can leave them on the wire if you want, but someone will be picking them up this week if they are even still there. These are the players that I think win your league. . . .the ones that no one knew were there, and the ones that everyone wish they had. Right now Frank Gore is close to that player, but he is on a roster in every league during the draft if not after week 1. . .so he no longer applies.
2 - Players underperforming and are on your roster. These are Veteran players that for some reason are struggling. They are hurting your line up the last 2 weeks because you “assume” that eventually something will change or will show up. These are the players you have on your team because they were supposed to add stability. The problem with these players is that you can’t get anything in a trade, no one really wants the risk of them, but they are taking up space on your roster, and keeping you from being able to get a player from the first list.
Now this isn’t a discussion about weather you agree with my WW list or my Anchor list. . .I know there are some players on the wire, that shouldn’t be there, and there are some anchors that you could say “well DUH”. . . .but that’s not the point.
The discussion is if you can’t trade away a “drafted anchor”, is it worth dropping them to the wire to let someone else have the headache, or do you wait for them to find the season they are supposed to have? And the question becomes even more interesting if you either A) They are/have become depth on your roster (see D. Foster), or B) they are the core or your roster (see R. Moss)
(The players that I’m goin to list are players from my WW and from my personal rosters, but they should pertain to may of you out there, or you will be able to relate then to others.)

I have my thoughts, and moves that I might make. . .but I’m pretty sure there are several guys from my league that will read this, so I cant go too much further in depth. And I know there are players on the #2 list (SA), that you just keep and you have to ride out, but lets be honest. . . .his last 2 weeks have been awful for a top 3 back!
