US Men's National Team (15 Viewers)

South Florida native Agustin Anello makes his Eredivisie debut for Sparta Rotterdam - a 64th minute sub with Sparta up 2-0 on Feyenoord. - The young winger told me he very much wants to have an opportunity to make the U.S U-23 team. He’s never played for the USA at any level
Have we announced an Olympic coach yet? I thought we were going to have a joint camp in this next window and we're a few weeks out now of announcing rosters.

Btw, watching the Leagues Cup final last night and Yedlin was dreadful. I think he's never going to fit into the new Miami squad because they are trying to play possession based and inviting pressure to play through. Yedlin is just a fish out of water in that style.

From the Athletic, Adams confirming he reinjured himself this summer

================================

He said: “Yeah, there’s been a lot of ups and downs. This has been my most major injury in my career. I got a little bit excited when I started to feel good early on but came back a little bit too quickly and had a bit of a setback.

“Throughout the summer I was able to make a lot of progress. I’m excited about where I’m at and I’m hoping that I can have an influence on the pitch very soon.”

I can't get this to play for whatever reason but I'm guessing there are some positives here. I didn't watch the match and Aaronson has a tendency to do positive things not in the stat sheet, but his stats looked not so great.

Playing as a 10 for a side that scored 4 goals, he had 0.01 xA and overall seemed very uninvolved. His FotMob rating was the worst of all Union players by a fair margin. Hopefully the stuff beyond stats he did was positive enough as he finds his sea legs for them. But I was really hoping he got off to a good start just for his confidence.

Fans appreciated him today

Hmmm, Juve up 3-0 at half but make 2 subs. Weston on for Weah was one of the subs. I have no idea if Weah played bad or got a knock.
when I looked at ESPN stat tracker, they had him wide right MF in a 3-5-2.

at a guess- at 3-0, Swag came in to offer more defense and to help plug up the middle... maybe a tactical shift as well.
or they can't have more than 1 american on at a time.

Not in STL last night

Speaking of which, STL City with another win last night and still atop the West with a 3-0 win. Of note, I wanted to mention someone on City's roster that was recently called up a few weeks ago due to the injuries. Sam Adeniran is a striker and only 24 but has only been called up a couple times to MLS until recently with City.

Might be the homer in me and I'm sure there's something lacking up until now or he would have been called up more, but after watching him score another really Big Boy header last night, I'm intrigued at what he can do moving forward and if there's ever a chance for him with the USMNT.

Here's some Adeniran highlights. I watch that and wonder why he hasn't had more of a chance. He's definitely looked the part for City this year.
Uh, this goal by Adeniran....

Whoa

Looks like Weah played well, got hurt, then McKennie played well

More angles

I have no idea how he generated that much power with just a quick flick on the outside of his boot.

force him to his right! Oh.

Pulisic out at the 73 minute mark. Quiet second half (which was the same for all offensive Milan players). He has to be happy though with his first game.

There is no way Musah is unseating Hernandez, but RLC's spot might be in play during the season.
What about Krunic?
That is also a possibility. I am sure he will get his chances, and hopefully he can take advantage.

ESPN listed Hernandez as a left back but that does not seem correct. He played as a box to box central midfielder it seems. Maybe their defensive and offensive shape change

I posted this in the soccer thread but I decided to cross post since it may have some knock on effect with Gaga

Petrovic's hold out seems to have worked. The Revs made a nice score here with Turner's replacement. This is one of the biggest sales in MLS history

EXCL: Djordje Petrović to Chelsea, here we go! Verbal agreement in place with New England Revolution on €16m deal

More info on the deal. That is a long contract in terms of years. No idea what this means for Gaga.

Understand Djordje Petrović will sign on Wednesday as new Chelsea player — it will be 7 year contract until 2030. Told it will include option for one more year, 2031.

$17.5m fixed fee plus $2.2m add-ons to New England Revolution

Guessing it means that the two of them will be fighting for the top spot in 3-4 years when/if Gaga is ready. Don't see Chelsea handing the reigns over to Slonina until he absolutely balls out in a couple of loan spells.
