But it's not like URU has been much better than the US, just cleaner and more efficient.
US has been aimless and sloppy.
To me, battle of shape and the second ball... Which have favored URU.But it's not like URU has been much better than the US, just cleaner and more efficient.

Flukey shanked clear that went in for an own goal and a flukey save against his own player by Pukstas. Otherwise fairly even.
He continues to reinforce my view that he's a flat track bully every time I see him playSpeaking of .. this has been a poor performance from Luna.
Picked it up 2nd half. Only dangerous guy. But no end game today... And Cowells game sank when Luna's rose.He continues to reinforce my view that he's a flat track bully every time I see him playSpeaking of .. this has been a poor performance from Luna.
Andy... No comments on the game?

Zlatan is destined to be the Shaq in Paramount's Champions League studio show. Just Zlatan and Henry mercilessly slamming Micah and Carragher non-stop.Either that or to join the cast of It's Always SunnyAnybody else thinking Reynolds reached out to The Zlat today about joining wrex?
And hopefully that means Puli and Weah will score.Mexico is going to kick the ever loving **** out of Flo until the red stops them.
Will be interesting to see how they line up... one of gio or weah will likely sitAnd hopefully that means Puli and Weah will score.Mexico is going to kick the ever loving **** out of Flo until the red stops them.
It might be meaningless but Gio was listed as a midfielder when the roster was announced. With Adams hurt I think we may see two 6's with Gio as the AM.Will be interesting to see how they line up... one of gio or weah will likely sitAnd hopefully that means Puli and Weah will score.Mexico is going to kick the ever loving **** out of Flo until the red stops them.
I've started to type this out a few times and then withdrew.A day later, What a bummer that u20 game was. So... Meh.
Granted, they hadn't really played anybody tippy top yet, but they had been so consistent and dominant... My expectations were raised. And then that. Against a team we all agree we're just fine, but not scary talented or dictating play. The US just couldn't elevate when it needed to and when the path forward was so wide open. Bleh.
Thank you for that.I've started to type this out a few times and then withdrew.A day later, What a bummer that u20 game was. So... Meh.

I've been a Varas fan to this point, but I think he royally effed up this match. The idea of running out a 2-man midfield with McGlynn can work against weak sides but is insanity against Uruguay and we got run over because of it. Starting Wolff out of position as a winger, Luna out of position as a false 9, and Halliday as a wing back is just dumb. If you were hell bent on this formation, call a roster that fits it.
And what irritates me most is even after it was so obviously flawed, we subbed out Wolff for Paredes and made no formation changes. Then we subbed out Halliday for Pukstas and again made no structural changes (Pukstas spent 15 minutes playing RWB ffs). It showed exceptional stubbornness to do that. By the time we finally fixed the structural flaws, the game was gone. This was a tactical loss as much as anything.
Oh get your cleaver ready. I firmly believe that's the plan with the rotation of interim managers coming through. Just waiting long enough for no one else to hire him while others get hired leaving only him. "Well we tried. And Greg knows the American player and can lead us out at home".I have to tell you, I am ambivalent on GGG but if we wasted all this ****ing time just to turn around and rehire him, I am going to run amuck with a meat cleaver.....
There is not enoughturn around and rehire him
on the planet to satisfy my needs if this happens.SadAnd let's not forget URU was coming off a 10man nail biter exhausting game 2 days prior, while the US breezed through theirs 4 days earlier. But it was URU who looked fresher, hungrier and frostier
Pulisic continues to stump for GGG

Christian Pulisic on Gregg Berhalter, today: "I think he is still considered. I think he should be considered. I think he did a great job with the team. He brought us a long way. I think a lot of people, and a lot of guys in the team, especially would agree with that."
Deuce also came out pretty strongly in favor of Berhalter a few days ago (probably posted here I guess.)

Canadian Men's National Team coach John Herdman says Aidan Morris's "heart is with the U.S." and that he thinks he could be cap-tied with the U.S. at the Gold Cup
The Athletic is reporting that Newcastle won't bid on Pulisic and that Serie A is looking like the likely landing spot.
We have almost zero depth at the natural 6 position so that would be his best fit if he continues to develop. Is Morris actually a potential depth piece? Thought he looked really bad when he was first called in a while back
