So Adams goes into a side without European football, has 72 players already, and would theoretically be one of two new signings - the weaker of the two - at the base of the midfield to pair with a world record signing in Enzo. Swell.

Other than that, how was the play Mrs Lincoln?

Oh dear, Arsenal looks like they have raised Balogun's price

==============================

From ESPN

The Premier League club value Balogun at around €58 million ($64m) and are thought to be open to letting him leave at the right price, with Inter Milan also expected to enter the running for his signature.

That 72 figure is before 17 of their players were signed by Saudi Arabian clubs.

Sacramento Republic has announced they signed 13-year-old (!!) academy product Da’vian Kimbrough to a professional deal.

Republic say he's the youngest professional athlete in American team sports history.

Kimbrough scored 61 goals in 81 apps in academy matches the last 2 years

Club America and Nashville went to pk's. Both Zimm and Zendejas made their pk's.
**** me.

I was following this online on ESPN, and watching the pk's via text. ESPN had Club America winning after the last kick was saved

A while later I saw online that Nashville had won and was confused until I saw this:

================

[MLS] Nashville SC win on penalties! (Club America initially ruled as winners, celebrated and pitch invaders came onto the field. Only for VAR to determine the goalie was off his line, the penalty is redone, and Nashville eventually win)

Update:

Moving Turner from close to official.

Not holding my breath on him. but considering the attacking skills- would love to see him stick and grow the rest of his game. obviously behind CP as a left wing/attacker... but would provide apparently needed depth or a late game width sub. so singular with his skills though... not sure if even the late sub is viable for that particular skill set (wide, good dribbler, ok passer/crosser, no defense)

I was looking forward to the GGG-Gio drama officially being put to bed in the September friendlies but with Gio still not even dressing, the likelihood of him being called up in September seems very very low.

saw a headline saying Newcastle was "tipped" to land Balogun.

opened the article and saw them quoting wynalda of all people for the source... as places HE thinks would be a good fit.

he's not going to newcastle.

but got me thinking again... he'd be anywhere in europe right now- definitely Inter- if he hadn't shot down all loan opportunities. with his current arsenal valuation the options are limited for a sale, IMO. hopefully it works out- especailly seeing as how he didn't even dress for the opener vs city. otherwise, it's going to be a long year for him.

GGG has brought him and others in previously when they've been coming off injury for club and not dressing yet. at least, my memory says he has.

Pulisic went ~70 minutes just yesterday so I don't think he will play nor will any normal starters. This seems like a perfect game though for Musah to get his feet wet as he did not play yesterday.

That interviewer went in with her questions- some of them good- but lacked the ability to veer off them... even when opportunity was there to get him to be more specific about Milan, or what it is exactly that he needs to work on to improve his consistency.

but I liked Dest's answers (other than justifying his red vs mexico) and really want him to find his place somewhere- such a great player. would flat out SUCK to have him and balo stuck at their current clubs wasting seasons in the doghouse.

I think if Adams is good enough, he’ll play. He won’t give any locker room, training ground, or off the field reasons for Poch to bench him.

I might be in the minority, but I like the move for Adams IF Caicedo isn't brought in.

If he's getting starting minutes I'm all for it. I think the bigger concern is even if they don't bring in Caicedo, how many other dozen guys are they going to add every transfer window that could be a problem?

my news feed is rife with Balo to Monaco tidbits, with Monaco reportedly upping their offer. I'd prefer Inter as a homer.

also pointed out (true or not) that he's not been included in Arsenal's media material, which suggests he's gone.

I feel like the last couple seasons, chels has subbed their holding MFs in and out a lot- so even if he's not starting, he might still see regular PT. but not sure how Poch plays things there.

I was hoping for non France since he already proved he could score there but I guess doing it two season in a row to show it was no one season fluke would also be helpful.

He is still in France but appears to the replacement for Kane should he go to Bayern.
