The daily Balogun rumor

Fulham have stepped up their interest in Folarin Balogun but remain £10m short of Arsenal’s £45m valuation. Arsenal had initially wanted £50m before lowering their price-tag, however Fulham are only willing to pay a maximum of £35m. [Simon Jones, Mail]

what a mess it has been for Adams this summer

Bournemouth believe they met Tyler Adams's release clause on Monday by making a £20M bid. When Bournemouth officially lodged their £20M bid on Monday the release clause was still in place. It is understood, however, that Leeds maintain that the clause was not triggered and that it has since expired. As it stands, there has been no agreement between Bournemouth and Adams on personal terms. Any move, if it advances any further, would be subject to a medical.

if they sell Mitrovic to the Saudis for ungodly money (and it must be hard to turn that down, even for the guy that's been THE guy at your club), I'd think they'd have a little more in the jar for Balo.

agreed.

If it is true that Arsenal has slightly lowered the price, if the Monaco rumors were true, they must be very close on agreement.

Having two relatively equal bids for Balogun should give him a choice of where he thinks it is best for him (salary, culture, playing time etc).

not as ungodly as I thought.. and would be essentially spending their entire Mitro kitty for Balo.. and maybe more. Balo's younger, but far less proven vs a guy who has consistently been knocking in goals for the club in a manner that fits their playing style.

talks with Fulham and they hope to secure an agreement over a fee that is likely to be more than £40m in the coming days, with Mitrovic having already agreed personal terms with Al-Hilal.

WTF? I thought it was reported that Inter had dropped out of the Balogun signing??

𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 Inter Milan have reached verbal agreement in principle with Folarin Balogun on personal terms on five-year contract. Monaco still in race. Arsenal want £45m fee to let him leave. Both clubs are in talks to reached full agreement on fee.

Impossible to know what rumors are true and what are being fabricated by agents to the media to try and increase exposure for their clients.

With Monaco, Inter and Fulham all in the active rumor stage for Balogun, hopefully at least one of them is true and can close soon.

info on Vazquez from the Athletic

=====

FC Cincinnati’s position has been clear for months: With the possibility of multiple trophies on the line in the club’s best season to date, there is no intent to lose key players.

Cincy sits atop the Supporters’ Shield standings with an eight-point cushion and just 11 matches remaining.

It’s also are in the semifinals of the U.S. Open Cup and stands to be among the favorites for MLS Cup when the playoffs start.

Still, USMNT forward Brandon Vazquez continues to draw interest from European clubs. Borussia Monchengladbach remains interested, as well as fellow Bundesliga club Hoffenheim and Spanish side Cadiz.

In addition to Vazquez, 22-year-old wingback Alvaro Barreal is the subject of a potential European move, as Dutch power Ajax is interested. The 22-year-old is integral to Cincy’s position in the table and, as with Vazquez, FCC has no interest in a deal this month.

However, Cincy would be open to dealing in the winter at the right price for either.

Surprising news out of the Bundi... Gio is hurt and out for the season opener without a timetable for his return.

scratch that, reverse it. not surprising news.

I know it sucks. From what I understand he has not been training at all.

I really can't consider him an important part of the US team for now. This is no longer a fluke as it has been going on way too long. If he gets healthy and can stay healthy it will be a pleasant surprise but it would be a mistake to be thinking about US lineups with him as an important piece imo.

And this sucks because we needed him as the compliment to Pulisic. For as much improved as our development is, we still have a hard time developing the elite talent like Pulisic and Reyna. And Cavan, if he gets there, is way too far off.

Update:

Moving Adams from rumor to close. Lets hope this goes better than the last time I moved him to close

The US beat Mexico 4-2 to win the Concacaf U15 tournament. The US won every game they played in the tournament.

Cavan Sullivan won the Golden Ball as the tournaments best player.
Highlights from the final (the first assist from Cavan )

I think Cavan was #16? Very clean and explosive on the ball.Really liked the moments they caught the #10 on film too... That first goal was all him.
Cavan is #10
Julian Hall is #16
Good lord... He's 13? Doing that kind of filth to Mexico in a final? All in.
I tuned in to watch Cavan, but it was the CDM Jude Terry who really impressed me. Absolutely dominant performance from that kid

Kevin Paredes didn't play all pre-season due to injury but on opening weekend he came on as a late sub. He really needs to take the next step this year and force his way into the starting lineup, but it's great to see him back on the field.

In the same game, Lennard Maloney started for Heidenheim as a single pivot. He played for our U20s a few years back (he's a 1999). Still only 23 so probably worth keeping an eye on a kid starting in the Bundes. He's also eligible for Germany but surely he's not even on their radar.

Men In Blazers reporting that Chelsea are interested in Balogun.
all over my **official floppo news feed now.

they're starting that Jackson kid up top- who looks ok, but not world-beating. I assume they'll need somebody else.
Don't they have Nkunku?
yes, but he got badly hurt in the preseason and the injury was worse than originally feared. He is not expected back until January some time.
