US Men's National Team (18 Viewers)

Speaking of Jedi, the media is speculating that he might be at the top of Liverpools list to upgrade their LB spot.

His offensive stats (which were once his weakness) continue to be excellent when compared to all EPL full backs

Jedi put out a statement. It does not sound like a new injury but something he has been dealing with for a while and they decided now might be the best time to get it better.

He said he has been dealing tendinopathy for a few months now.
That's what shut me down two years ago (Achilles). Still haven't worked to get through it.

all the soundbytes I'm reading from US players have been talking about playing with "nastiness" and "bite". I'll believe it when I see it... not feeling terribly confident about tonight.
If you think about all the players who are likely to start, and think about those terms you use, I immediately think of Adam’s and then kind of scratch my head.

My news algorithms tell me he's too old for them, and they're looking at other younger options.

He might be but he may also have 3-4 more years of top tier soccer in him given his athletic ability.

Swag and CP both were sources... swag has that, sometimes too much. Cp? You can see when he's playing fired up... It's not nasty or biting on the defensive side, but quietly there offensively.

Gio can go there too. Oddly, I can't think of anybody on the backline who's like that other than Dest (again, not in the most useful ways).

Weston is always quick to protect a teammate but I don’t see over aggressive or “nasty” in his normal play.

I definitely agree Pulisic can get chippy when needed but most times it is response to him getting hacked. I don’t think he instigates things too often on his own.

I had it off and on for about 18 months a few years back. Maddening injury. Of course, I just had my own numbskull ways of dealing with it rather than a paid team of physios, so hopefully Jedi can get past it faster.

From Bogert

Plenty of scouts will be watching a number of United States U-20 players in Spain this week, but I'm told a few European clubs will be there for San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Niko Tsakiris

Tsakiris, 19, has EU passport & is under contract through 2026. Has 61 first team apps

I've liked what I've seen of him in previous youth appearances.

Me too but he has been all sorts of blah for San Jose.

Even right now he is having trouble cracking the line up. Only 2 sub appearances in 4 games so far. But I don’t know if he has been injured or not to be fair.

I guess I don’t know how the fullbacks will line up. I’m guessing Scally on the left but maybe not. Could be Wes, Musah, or Weah on the other side.

Seems weird to take two 10s (Gio and Luna) and not play a 10, and Wes would be the most natural 10 out of the starters. But if Weah is your fullback, I don’t like Musah as a wing, even though he was listed as a forward. Poch is smarter than I am.

Hmm..

I guess there is an outside chance this is a 352 with Ream in the middle.

But more likely it is a 4 man back with I think Weah on the right as Poch seems to think he can unravel the Musah final 3rd mystery.

I agree. Musah RW and Weah RB seems most likely to me, with lots of overlapping. Lots of other possibilities though.

FotMob may just be guessing, but they have Musah at RB, Weah at LW and Pulisic at RW.

Edit: they must be guessing because they have Tessman at the 10 and that makes no sense.

With Pan packing the middle, the US needs to play quicker to width or over the top. Been an extra touch from the CBs and MF too much so far
