Trusty out with a calf injury today. Does not sound serious but I don’t know if it will preclude him from joining the US.
I saw he was a scratch today and had meant to ask.. thanks for explanationTrusty out with a calf injury today. Does not sound serious but I don’t know if it will preclude him from joining the US.
That first link was a gorgeous team goal. Just shredded the defence.. led by LunaDiego Luna grabbing the game by the balls from the kick off
And a goal later in the game
Saw that too. And earlier in the season he was a key cog of that Venezia team. This is a long enough run to show they've gone a different direction... wonder what happened. Not sure what's up with Busio. He's on the bench again today and has only started one of the last 5 matches. Last week was a DNP.
I don't ever watch Venezia so no idea how he's been progressing but he seemed decent the last time he played for the Nats. Not that he's old or anything, but at 22, he seems to be falling further and further out of the conversation as guys like Tessmann and Johnny have moved well past him.
Unfortunately, the U20s are playing in Spain.I think it will also be Miles but it is worth noting that Banks is already flying over for the U20's. They could just as easily divert him to the main team.I assume that any players that drop out will be covered by MLS/LigaMX players just because the logistics at this point are a bit tight. Guessing maybe Zendejas gets the call for Johnny. Not sure what we'd do if Trusty pulled out. Miles I guess.
The replacement for Johnny will either be Zendejas or Paxten I think.
oh for some reason I thought they were playing in Costa Rica.....maybe that is the U17's.....Unfortunately, the U20s are playing in Spain.I think it will also be Miles but it is worth noting that Banks is already flying over for the U20's. Goalkeeping can be very much about confidence. He IS playing the best of our options right now.
I thought he played well in the January camp as well. Keeping my fingers crossed.Goalkeeping can be very much about confidence. He IS playing the best of our options right now.
Wow... Didn't know he had that kind of leg. Bullet.
He is fun to watch. He may be missing just enough athleticism to have him succeed at a high level but he has everything else.Man, 30 years ago Luna would have been a superstar #10. So much skill. It'll be interesting to see how his career plays out.
Quinn is one of the best ball strikers in MLS so this doesn't surprise me much. I've flipped a little and am probably more excited for Albert than Cavan but these things remind me that they can both be elite.Wow... Didn't know he had that kind of leg. Bullet.
McGlynn and Arfsten also there. Apparently Poch brought a few guys not officially on the roster to train with the team. Rumor is McGlynn is filling the spot.Hmmm. Brian Gutierrez was spotted training with the USMNT today.
He is on the 60 man roster so he may be the Johnny replacement or maybe just training in general.

I only really saw Quinn as a youth nat... Seemed like he had top level athleticism and solid skills, but nothing elite that I saw at the time like with lil brotherQuinn is one of the best ball strikers in MLS so this doesn't surprise me much. This is infuriating because Dest and Jedi might be the two most important players for Poch to get working in his system.Well, ****.
We really could use Ledezma or Reynolds right about nowLooks like Scally will have to be on the left.
With Scally very unlikely to attack, Poch may have to consider Weah at RB.
it makes you wonder if they contacted Brown about the 60 man roster or not. No way to know but damn he would be nice to have as an option. We really could use Ledezma or Reynolds right about nowLooks like Scally will have to be on the left.

On the bright side, at least Moore wasn't added to the roster
Given how few wings we're bringing, I'd assume that Weah will still play RW and Fossey will be the RB, although I think our strongest starting lineup would put Weah at RB, McKennie opposite Pulisic at wing, and Reyna as the 10
McGlynn is also on this list as he is still eligible for Ireland.I believe if either Guti or Luna plays, we will be able to cap tie them.
I don’t think there is anyone else on roster that needs to be cap tied but I may be missing some one.
How is it that the club in second place in the table has no one in that XI?When you look at the other names on this list, Jedi may be having one of, if not the greatest, club season of any US field player ever.
I still think I would put Dempsey's 2011/12 and maybe Pulisic's first year with Chelsea(the fabled lockdown Puli year)over this, but wow..... Good for Jedi. What a surge he's made the last few years. When you look at the other names on this list, Jedi may be having one of, if not the greatest, club season of any US field player ever.
Remember though, for Puli it was a not a full year of being great. He had an incredible burst after lock down ended but he was not great in the early part of the season. He had a huge break out after the lock down ended and for that time period, I believe that was as good as an American has ever played over a couple months period.I still think I would put Dempsey's 2011/12 and maybe Pulisic's first year with Chelsea(the fabled lockdown Puli year)over this, but wow..... I think Saka would have been if he did not get hurt since the team listed has a minimum games played requirement attached to it.How is it that the club in second place in the table has no one in that XI?When you look at the other names on this list, Jedi may be having one of, if not the greatest, club season of any US field player ever.
They won their first open cup game tonight, beating Sporting KC 2, 2-1.Dax McCarty, Matt Hedges and Ozzie Alonso have also joined Des Moines for the Open Cup.Sacha Kljestan is doing it again this year, playing for Des Moines Menace in the US Open Cup.
And he brought old friends Bradley Wright Phillips and Benny Fielhaber with him. More old hats are expected to join soon.
