US source: North Korean leader reportedly dead (1 Viewer)

I've read in multiple places that they do not have a set replacement. His sister is in the running, but not guaranteed.

South Korea would know pretty quickly. They both have spies all other the place.

Right, so I tend to believe them rather than rumors.

Would be happy to be proven wrong, the dude and his family are terrible people. What they subject their people to is barbaric in this day & age.

That would make sense. Dictators have to always be concerned about someone overthrowing them. If one of their kids are in line, the chances of being murdered are less. But other family members? Naming his sister would give her incentive both to kill him and to kill his kids. It would also paint a target on her back in the meantime as well.

I think the biggest issue is, his kids are very young.

"Brain dead" is "dead" -- no ones comes back from that, though in some cases machines can render someone a "living cadaver" for a time. But if the brain can no longer control breathing, circulation, etc. ... the person is unequivocally dead.

Perhaps without a succession plan ... someone in NK is scrambling to pull something together before having to reveal the inevitable. I guess they can hide KJU's death for some indefinite time, but if it gets to where he hasn't been seen in public for six months or something ... the game will be up.

 
So the general consensus is the sister takes the reigns?  Any chance she is less of a delusional, self-aggrandizing dictator?

 
This guy really didn't leave many options on the table for the grace of a wish that he may RIP or even a even-handed obit, did he?

If she’s not at least as ruthless and delusional as him, she likely won’t last long before some man in the military overthrows her.

None of the big, traditional media outlets (American network news, CNN, New York Times, BBC, Reuters, etc.) have moved on this yet. North Korea is keeping Un's whereabouts and health status tightly under wraps -- that's all that's known for 100% sure right now.

So you're saying being a huge fat ######## is not good for the heart? I need to change my ways.

From the 5 minutes of reading I've done, it doesn't look like any of the next in line are any better. But enough of these a-holes are going to die where we can open up North Korea, and people are going to go from living in a hellscape to a wonderland in like 5 years. It's going to be crazy what happens when we get this place opened.
