Don't know if this is a honda... but I havn't seen it...

Positional

Might be interesting to have the draft gurus here comparing this to their own rankings... Evidently, a few 'cough' NFLDraftGuys 'cough' CC, Herd! names come to mind... thoughts?...

Not a bad list at all. I found it interesting that Brian Leonard moved to the "RB" not the "FB" list.
Leonard is an RB all the way - he can play FB, which adds to his value, but by the end of Senior Bowl week, he was lining up at tailback in practice a lot more than he was lining up at FB.Big Sean Baca and I debate Leonard here:

RB rankings coming next. I pledge to release rankings for every position before the draft.FYI, these are NFLDraftScout's actual rankings, not an independantly generated list.

What do you guys think of Scott Wright and his Rookie Rankings (http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com)? It is the site I have used the last few years to learn about the rookies in the draft. Just curious.

Leonard was perceived as a FB as little as one month ago. I agree, his shedding 10+ pounds and his speed (great 40 time) makes him a solid RB, and I'm certainly on his bandwagon. I'm just a little surprised that on a list that has both RBs and FBs, he's differentiated as a true tailback. I think Leonard is worthy of a Top 5 ranking as an NFL RB prospect - but the question is how will he translate to FF.

I think I might have to jot a few things down for this "other site" ;) .

More later, but Ginn below Jarrett and Rice is odd. Same with Bowe ahead of Meachem, although I can see the logic (even if I disagree).

Palko ahead of Palmer is not so good IMO. I think Palko is terrible and wouldn't be shocked to see him go undrafted.

Chris Henry as Rb14? Seriously? A guy built like that running a 4.4 is going after 13 other guys?

I don't see Beekman as OG6. Blalock is this year's Marcus McNeil.

Justin Harrell is correctly ranked as DT3.

HB Blades in the 3rd is a steal for someone, although as an ILB he'll likely fall that far.

Chris Houston as CB4 is way off, IMO. Hall goes CB1, Houston as CB2.

So is Zac Taylor at QB14. How many other QB's above him have already run an NFL style offense?
More than half?I'm not a college football expert by any stretch (don't have the bandwidth to watch it all and do it justice), but going down the list.....1 *JaMarcus Russell LSU YES 2 Brady Quinn Notre Dame YES3 Drew Stanton Michigan State ???4 John Beck BYU YES5 Troy Smith Ohio State NO6 Trent Edwards Stanford YES7 Isaiah Stanback Washington YES IIRC8 Kevin Kolb Houston YES9 Jared Zabransky Boise State NO10 Tyler Palko Pittsburgh YES - Wannstedt11 Jordan Palmer Texas-El Paso YES12 Chris Leak Florida YES13 Jeff Rowe Nevada NO14 Zac Taylor Nebraska

"Running an NFL style offense" isn't nearly as important as "running an NFL style offense WELL."Taylor was good this season, but far from great. 8.8 ypa means he was efficient and safe. He'd be MUCH higher if he was closer to 10-11 ypa.

The question is how did a guy built like that with that speed be such a non-productive player in college? I would not put him significantly higher, if any.

5 to 7 Defensive Ends going in the first round? That's an awfully high number if you ask me....
It has been a poor spot in the 1st in recent years. Things work in cycles, and this happens to be a year when DE, CB, and WR are on the "up swing" as where RB, for example, has been an up position the last couple of years.

Agree - he could/should have been more productive. However, remember that coaches in the NFL are PROUD folks, thinking they are the difference between a wash out and a guy who puts it all together. 5'10, 230 w/ 4.4 speed is going to get some attention.

I know that Arizona is going to a non-RB friendly offense, but i really think that guy should stuck it out another year. If he was even moderately productive say 200 carrries 950 yards 8 or so Tds, he is easily a 2nd round pick and maybe a first. Now, he is most likely a 2nd day guy unless he lucks out and finds that coach who thinks he can mold the lump of clay that is Chris Henry.

Oregon WR Jordan Kent #27 ???

Pretty high for a basketball/track star standout. Kent is an outstanding athlete, but he barely has two years football experience, including high school and college. Talk about a project.

Is Blalock going to play tackle? Or are you just saying he'll be a great value at guard.Who are some LB's that you think will fit the Colts' system.

According to ESPN.com, no QB in Div-I broke 10.0 YPA and Zac Taylor had 8.4 YPA.Let's look at this:1 *JaMarcus Russell LSU 9.1 Higher2 Brady Quinn Notre Dame 7.6 Lower3 Drew Stanton Michigan State 6.7 Lower4 John Beck BYU 9.5 Higher5 Troy Smith Ohio State 8.4 Tied6 Trent Edwards Stanford - not listed7 Isaiah Stanback Washington 7.0 lower8 Kevin Kolb Houston 8.7 Higher9 Jared Zabransky Boise State 9.0 Higher10 Tyler Palko Pittsburgh 8.9 Higher11 Jordan Palmer Texas-El Paso 8.4 Tied12 Chris Leak Florida 8.3 Lower13 Jeff Rowe Nevada 7.3 Lower14 Zac Taylor Nebraska5 of 13 were higher than Taylor, 2 tied Taylor, and 5 were lower, with 1 not listed. Explain to me why YPA matters again?

Continuing:

Name YPA ATT YDS CMP% TD INT

1 *JaMarcus Russell LSU 9.1 308 2797 68.5 26 7

2 Brady Quinn Notre Dame 7.6 432 3278 63.4 35 5

3 Drew Stanton Michigan State 6.7 269 1807 61.0 12 10

4 John Beck BYU 9.5 371 3510 70.4 30 6

5 Troy Smith Ohio State 8.4 297 2507 67.0 30 5

6 Trent Edwards Stanford - not listed

7 Isaiah Stanback Washington 7.0 189 1325 53.4 10 3

8 Kevin Kolb Houston 8.7 393 3423 67.7 27 3

9 Jared Zabransky Boise State 9.0 259 2325 66.4 20 7

10 Tyler Palko Pittsburgh 8.9 322 2871 68.3 25 9

11 Jordan Palmer Texas-El Paso 8.4 429 3595 65.7 26 14

12 Chris Leak Florida 8.3 329 2729 62.9 22 13

13 Jeff Rowe Nevada 7.3 235 1715 64.7 16 7

14 Zac Taylor Nebraska 8.4 365 3071 60.0 25 7

Taylor is Tied for #6 in YPA, #5 in ATT, #5 in YDS, #12 in CMP%. He's smallish (6' 2") but by no means "short." Why is he rated #14? I would put him in the 5-7 range.
