Using A/C plug adapters in Curacao (1 Viewer)

I'm taking the family to Curacao next week and just ordered adapters for the plug ins. My wife was reading the reviews for the hotel (Curacao Marriott Beach Resort) and some were saying using expensive electronics is a bad idea because their outlets run at 50 cycles vs our 60. So is this a real danger? I will need my laptop for work.

The hotel says they have one US outlet per room, but I assume this uses the same power supply and would still be a problem?

Most power supplies for laptops are rated for 100-240V and 50-60Hz. It shouldn't be an isssue - but not prepared to pay for your laptop if it is. ;)

I've travelled with my laptop to many, many countries and have never had issues with that

Thanks! The wife and daughter just got back from Europe and had no issues with small electronics, but they didn't take laptops.

Laptop should be fine. Careful with adaptors though. All it does is change the connection, not the voltage and you could fry your other electronics.

Adaptor ≠ Converter

Never been to the Caribbean, but I've been in many European countries with several different laptops and they all worked fine with the various adapters and such. Just check the specs on the power brick.

Was there in December at the Hilton next to the Marriott. No issues with the US chargers they had in the room.
