it was never about children’s health or well being. It was always about getting rich or die trying. Mutilating children for money. More far left Marxist lies peddled as “science”
The Clinics are motivated by money. The institutions have been overtaken by far far far left-wing activists and are motivated by an extreme ideology. How do you know when something is evil:
1. They operate in darkness. Vanderbilt has since taken down their entire gender website since it was used to expose their agenda and practices.
2. They suppress all criticism. Tik-Tok, Google, Twitter, and even PayPal have been banning accounts which criticize these barbaric practice of mutilating children. Vanderbilt has threatened to terminate any doctors who do not go along with butchering of children for no medical reason.
These bottom and top surgeries can generate upwards of $100K per patient, plus generate a life-time customer who must continually return to try to stay healthy after destroying their bodies. Even those on hormones generate many thousands of dollars per year because of all the visits and lab work it requires. They are pushing this crap on children as young as 13 at Vanderbilt.
Places like UK and Sweden have finally started to shed some light on these absolutely evil practices and doing actually research and studies and blowing the lies that US institutions are telling out of the water. They are coming up with new standards which will stop these gender-affirming voodoo that goes on in US Clinics today. Supporting these gender identity so-called healthcare is not compassionate, it is supporting evil. EDUCATE YOURSELF ON THESE LIES. STOP DROWNING IN YOUR OWN BIGOTRY AGAINST CONSERVATIVES.

Let's look at the general numbers and see the games these butchers are playing.
Before 2000;
Gender Dysphoria: 0.04% of the population, with about 70-90 percent of those growing out of it through adolescences with no medical transitioning.
Transgender Suicide Rates: 60 per 100K
Male Suicide Rates: 22 per 100K
Female Suicide Rates: 5.5 per 100K
Now:
Gender Dysphoria: 2% of the population, with 90 plus percent being medically transitioned.
Transgender Suicide Rates: 42 per 100K (best case assumption)
Male Suicide Rates: 22 per 100K
Female Suicide Rates: 5.5 per 100K
So what we are doing is pushing a much larger percentage of children into the Gender Dysphoria camp and destroying the development of their natural reproductive organs Let's say we believe their dubious data and they have reduced the suicide rates in Transgendered by 20-30 percent. Have they really saved lives? Absolutely not, what they are doing is taking mostly from the lowest category of suicide rates, females, convincing them they suffer from 'gender dysphoria' and then claiming they reduced their suicide rate from 60 down to 42 per 100,000. What they actually did was take girls with a suicide rate 5.5 and increased to 42, which is nearly an 8-fold increase. That is why you need real controlled clinical trials. These left-wing loons are playing games with the numbers.

There is nothing hyperbolic about what I am saying. Not a thing. These medical procedures are not helping children, but they are clearly destroying their future. I don't have an issue with adults. But these adolescents going through puberty are in the most vulnerable state and are heavily influenceable by peer pressure and are not mature enough to make such permanent decisions on destroying their bodies and unnecessarily creating a lifetime of medical headaches. You are mistaking care with hyperbole. It is not.

I tend to agree with a good portion of this.
What I'm trying to get my head around is the cases where a kid, even before becoming school-aged, goes to their parents and says something to the effect of "I'm a boy. I know I am" when they were born as a female. This happened to a family we know. There wasn't any peer-pressure, or contact with school influences, or anything other than the kid just "knew" it. He must have been 3 or 4 years old? (I don't know every single detail obviously) It was a unique occurrence for me, I naively had never even heard of that.
So when that happens, I'm torn on the hormones and body stuff. Part of me thinks that people need to attain adulthood to make these decisions (a lot of kids are still dumb even at 18 but that's another story), but part of me thinks it must be horribly cruel to go through the first 18 years of life as the "wrong" gender.
To address the political part of this though, is why is this even a government thing, or a politics thing? This family I'm referring to above, it seems to me the last thing they would have needed is some government ******** getting involved in their lives and decisions over this. Like, I get it, you're against this stuff. I'm not sure where I fall, as stated previously. What I am sure of is it's not up to me, and I would say it's not up to you, to decide for other people. That's the main point on politics/government, to me. The government largely needs to stay out of other people's business when it comes to their personal lives, IMO.
Also I'm interested in discussion on this, but just in advance if someone responds with a "whataboutism" I probably won't address that type of discussion.
See that is the 0.04 percent of the population who were treated 20 years ago by psychologist who did actual diagnosis of their condition. But that is not what 98% of the current children being medically treated for gender dysphoria actually have. It is medically insane to rubber stamp self-diagnosis of children, but that is exactly the standard that is being practiced today.
And part of what also makes this political is the language in the affordable care act arguably forces insurance companies to cover these treatments even-though they are largely elective and it is not life-threatening condition. The money pouring in from insurance is a big incentive for these clinics to perform these surgeries and treatments.

That percentage makes sense to me. Without having done much research admittedly, I always assumed or somehow else inferred that this type of case must be extremely, extremely rare. I could see how the raw numbers may be increasing as more awareness and acceptance of this is recognized, but generally speaking the percentages shouldn't be increasing that much because the denominator in this equation is a huge number. That's just math.
I'll use a crude example. Let's say 20 years ago, 3,000 kids in a state that has 20 million residents were properly diagnosed with this condition. If 20 years later, 4,500 kids were diagnosed, that would be a 50% increase in the raw numbers, but as an overall percentage that increase would be barely noticeable because of the large denominator.
What raises a red flag for me is the age of the kid. You pointed out the influence of peer pressure, etc. I understand that concern. What seems off to me is if a kid goes though the first 10 years of life let's say, and never mentions an issue once. Then one day, comes home and says something? That would seem fishy to me, like in a "where did you get that from?" kind of way. So I think we probably agree that a kid shouldn't be making big medical decisions in a case like that.
I'm still against the government getting involved.
I'll add that for-profit medicine, including doing these types of treatments, is an anathema on our country. I certainly oppose the for-profit motives of these medical institutions. Shame on them if they are overstepping medicine for profit in these cases, but also in every other aspect of medicine and procedures. Let's not kid ourselves into thinking it's only these procedures where profit motive is coming into play.
When the medical community becomes more responsible and bases treatments on legitimate medical diagnosis which evaluates the patients for all kinds of conditions and rules out other problems, then the government should get out. This is happening in the UK and Sweden, who were initially at the forefront of this gender identity movement. They are backtracking in a major way and creating more responsible medical standards for diagnosis and treatments. The US and Canada are still under the control of these extremists and any medical profession who disagrees with the current standards is subject to medical ma[practice and will lose his job, and in the case of Canada faces up to 5 years in prison.

There are some many problems with that statement, and I want to focus on the less obvious. Socialism has absolutely nothing to do with gender politics. 3. Details of the risks and long-term consequences of such treatments, instead of outright lies such as these treatments are completely reversible.
4. The process of how these children are diagnosis with gender dysphoria and if other possible conditions such as depression or ADHD or autism have been eliminated
5. How much money they are making on these children

But instead you are driven by your absolute hatred of everything rightwing and your irrational trust in these far-left gender ideological loons who have taken over major university departments and are spreading absolute lies. You are not moved by the fact that gender dysphoria has somehow skyrocketed over the last decade to the tune of about 50X in adolescence girls. We are just suppose keep chopping off healthy breasts, removing their uteruses, removing large portions of their arms to create some odd appendage that is suppose to represent a penis without any facts or data to support such insane procedures.

This is a thoughtful post. I'd like to say I agree about government not getting involved, but I'm not sure I do. In principal, I'd like to think we never should have government involved in how parents raise their kids, but of course in practice there are some things we simply have to regulate to protect kids from those outlier parents who are just too extreme in their beliefs. As an example, I think most of us would agree, as Americans, that we shouldn't allow the genital mutilation that hundreds of millions of African girls have undergone over the past decades. The people/parents who allow this to happen in Africa obviously think differently.

As an atheist, I assure you I can tell good from bad, probably more effectively than you can because I don't need to use a book as a cheat sheet. Also, I find your post incredibly offensive to me personally.
This is an interesting question. An atheist would tell you that both theists and atheists base their morals on the same thing. Atheists believe that God is a human construct therefore morals are as well. Interestingly, other animals (if humans are just animals) also have morals and beliefs. For example, elephants also have death rituals similar to humans.
