Vasectomy in the AM... (2 Viewers)

man that was easy. sitting on frozen peas with vicodin and whiskey on hand.....video games, movies and books loaded up...

i had built this up as a big thing, don't be touchin my balls dude!! but it was easy. small ouch moment when they numbed me, pretty simple procedure, talked to the doc like we were two dudes at the bar.

piece of cake, mi amigos.

UpdateMinutes after posting the above nonsense, I went to take a piss. Curiousity got me, and I had to check out the balls...well, I got light headed, passed out, and put a big hole in the drywall with my head. So now I had purple balls and a jacked up neck.

Today is day 5. Those guys lied about being able to lift today. Today is the first day that my balls are not enormously swollen and I can walk kinda normal. Still sore, still purple.

So for you future candidates....its an easy procedure, but give yourself lots of time to get better.

Today is the day. Any last words of advice?

Also, I expect I'll pretty much be sitting in bed doing nothing tomorrow. If someone could create an alias and a really good Friday thread tomorrow to pass the time, it would be much appreciated.

Sitting at home, chillin' with a bag of corn (no peas in the house).

The procedure wasn't bad at all. The anethestic was the worst part, until the end. I hadn't heard this from anyone else, but they taped my unit so it was out of the way. Taking that off was by far the most painful part of the whole deal.

see my post above. dont push it

Getting snipped in a little over an hour. :lmao:

Got my peas frozen, movies ready to go, tighty blackies on, about to take my Lorazepam (Ativan knockoff) and head over.

 Good luck. The procedure itself was a breeze I thought. Though, I went in dreading it, so I was prepared for the worst. Nothing to it though.Had it done last Thursday, and I'm almost back to normal today. My doctor gave me a stitch on each incision, and told me to take them out myself. Anyone else have to do this. I'm a little nervous about taking out my own stitch down there.

The procedure on Thursday PM wasn't too bad, even the needle in the nuts wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Have a feeling the doctor really wasn't concerned about being that gentle and I was pretty bruised and swollen though. Went home and took the vicodin I as prescribed, sacked up with some frozen peas, and went to sleep.

Woke up the next day with some pain so went right to the vicodin again but that may have been a mistake on a pretty much empty stomach. First I was just nauseous, and then instead of kicking back and watching movies all day I had a pounding, light sensitive, headache pretty much all day, WTF. Tossed it after that and just used Tylenol.

I was still pretty swollen that day but after a couple days the swelling went down and I could sleep on my side and put my legs together without squashing the boys. By Sunday I was feeling better and went to the Eagles game (and then wasn't feeling good after the game but that was more the Eagles' fault).

Doctor said to hold off on sex for 72 hours and it really hadn't crossed my mind. Never even stood at attention during that time except when I woke up in the morning and I was a little concerned if I would have any issues. That is, until we got home from the game and the wife was ready to go. 79 hours after the procedure and everything was working fine. :lmao:

So here we are 11 day after the procedure and I'm pretty much back to normal except for the remnants of some bruising and maybe the slightest bit of soreness up high on righty and maybe some irritation from my underwear rubbing the stitch. (Isn't this thing supposed to dissolve or come out itself?) I went over to the gym at lunch and exercised for the first time since the procedure and ran 2 miles without issue. :goodposting:

You're luck, my doc didn't give me any presciption meds. I just had Advil.I was really tender for about a week, but it gradually went away over the course of two weeks. Now 2 1/2 weeks removed, I can say I'm back to 100%.My doc said I should take the stitches out after a week. That was an interesting effort, and had to have the wife do it for me.Before I had it done. My brother in law said I shouldn't do it, that he regretted his. I asked why and all he would say is "you'll never be the same." I have no idea what he was referring to, because I have expereienced zero downside and can honestly say I feel I'm back to where I was pre-procedure.

I haven't read the complete thread, but what I'm wondering about is the volume. Has anyone seen a decrease? Most of it comes (no pun intended) from somewhere other than the balls, right? This would be my main concern (other than the procedure not taking).

no differenceI would say the first couple after the surgery were above average.

:lmao: Are you in movies? Otherwise, what concern would there be for less volume?

Are you a pornstar and need to maintain the money shot?

My experience is a slight decrease... but my wife and I are WAY past the desire to have more 'volume'...

I'm a little surprised at a couple of these responses. Whether there's a camera or not, wouldn't you want to maintain the money shot?

:overrated:

About 1 yr later and I'm experiencing some discomfort at the incision spots. Feels like scar tissue ripping inside. Makes me paranoid that somehow things got reconnected.

FTR, my comment was a complete :softball: I was expecting you to crush out of the park. I love the money shot. Of course, the wife is not so big a fan.

Ahhh ok. Had me a little confused!

I'm going back in Tuesday morning (Dec. 7). I think it's very slowly getting better, but there'll be times where I'll feel a sharp pain and other times a feel a dull soreness...
The doctor said he thinks I'm just suffering from sperm build up. He said just to take some Advil or Motrin when needed and I should be getting better
I had been doing a lot better until a few days ago. We have a leak in our water softener and I investigated. While doing this (no heavy lifting or anything) my righty started getting sore. It kept getting worse and worse until I had to take some Tylenol and sit down. It hurt through the night and into the next day, but it's feeling better now. I'm just afraid that I still have to stay away from physical activity...

I don't think I've seen anyone keep replying to their own post like this before. I'm glad your updating yourself on your progress.ETA - You do realize your wife isn't reading this thread to make sure that the lie is being spread everywhere?

:thumbup:I figured other people were posting their progress in this thread, and I found it informative, so I thought I'd do likewise. And I replied to my earlier posts so people would be able to see where I was at before without searching around.

Will eventually read through this thread, but for the time being, talk to me about this...

I'll be 35 in April and know for sure I NEVER want kids. Is there any downside here other than a little initial pain and recovery period?

Are there any side effects or differences (better or worse) in the bedroom performance department after having it done?

No difference, everything looks/feels the same.

Update: Went in to drop off my 2 test samples on 3/8 and 3/24.Got the all clear from the Dr/Lab on 4/1.No issues / setbacks / pain / etc after the initial post-surgery swelling described above.

June 3rd, my boys stop swimming. Not looking forward to this. Wife wanted it done Good Friday, I did not want to waste Easter weekend and a day I already had off work on this.

Wait for the pill dude. I've had friends get this done, one got his wife pregnant again and the other said yes there was a difference, could be in his mind but doesn't matter if you think there's a difference there will be.

I am sure the $500-600 I am going to spend will be far less than doing this over the amount of time I am sexually viable.
If cost is your point/reason then use condoms which will most likely cost less than getting clipped.
Cost is not an issue, it's the peace of mind. Furthermore, it's all about the feeling. I am in a happy marriage with two great kids and have no plans for more kids whether in this marriage or, if something goes south, the next. So for me this is an easy decision. May not be the case for others, but I don't mind the permanency.

Yes, because sex with a condom is awesome.I wouldn't take the pill either. One uncomfortable weekend (which wasn't really that bad), and I don't have to worry about it again.

Note:

When a urologist pulls on your vas defrens and you aren't fully numb, it feels like he's ripping out your spine and the nerves down your legs with it. Other than that, no worries.

Wuss. I just said "doc, are you gonna numb me up or what?" He started freakin out but I was like "whatever" :thumbup:It's been 18 days or so since mine and it was the best thing I ever did. Things actually seem better now on lift off. I got down about 36 hours after the procedure and around 30 times since. I do forget when I'm supposed to give a sample but at this point I'm not worried. :boxing:

Yes. Yes, it does. Had mine done on Friday. "Simple 10 minute procudure" turned into "Difficult 45 minute procedure" when he couldn't find one of the tubes. Still sore and bruised 5 days later, but pain meds are generally taking care of things.

Now this sounds more like mine--noooo problems! Actually never did the samples either but was pretty comfortable about it since they used me for training! :D

ok--kinda lost here. Maybe I had really good meds leading up to this but as I remember it wasn't much more than a copay. :banned:
