Yes, yes we do. Place is great for a non club and standing around getting drunk and people watching. It's not the concept that I care about. The place is busy but not overly busy and his wife could dance if she wanted to. I have never had a bad time there.

Thanks! Looking at a trip possibly Halloween weekend, and think that would be our "high-end" meal for the weekend. Hope it turns out better than Bouchon the last time we went.As an aside, any ideas why it is so cheap to get/stay there that weekend? I'd think Halloween would be hopping.Alias said:

there Vegas or there Palazzo?Not sure, I think in general Vegas is hurting, I can't remember the last time it only cost $200 to fly out there. March Madness opening weekend is still about $350-ish RT tho. I don't think Vegas is a big Halloween destination, it used to be a good choice for Vegoose, but I think that is dead unless they brought it back?

There Vegas. Flights are cheaper than any other time in the next many weeks, and hotels are ridiculously cheap (e.g. $84/night for the Venetian). I expected the general downturn but was surprised that weekend was the cheapest. Looking at places to go for a weekend to maintain my United status for next year.

:XI vaguely remember my time in there. I know I was talking to a smoking hot chick at the bar who was NOT working (she laughed at me when I called her out as an employee/callgirl... then I recall (vaguely) leaving, bumping into a moderately attractive black chick who tried to get me to come back to her room. I declined, got in a cab. Next thin I know I woke up face down on my bed fully clothed at 1:30pm (about 90 mins before my flight out of town).

Yep. Definitely less hustle then you see at Rhino/Sapphire, better mileage, cheaper drinks (mixed drinks are 12), not a single girl approached me with only saying "wanna dance?". Plus the girls join you for a drink and aren't even begging you to buy them a drink. They are plenty hot enough, yeah I'm sure the talent is slightly better at the mainstream clubs, but it comes at a price.I vaguely remember my time in there. Went to check it out opening night (didn't know it had changed). THe guard wouldn't let us in, I guess there was a private party. My friend checked it out the next day and said it was terrible.

Quick Recap of my trip last weekend:
- Watched pro games at the Bellagio Sportsbook, and again, I did not like the atmosphere. The one huge bonus was the free drinks.
- Watched College and Monday Night game at Planet Hollywood sportsbook. Fans were more lively, definitely a more fun crowd than the Bellagio. For every 50 bet, you get a free drink voucher. Small sportsbook, but I like it.
- As mentioned in post above, tried going to the Stadium at Palazzo on Friday Night, but found out it was the grand opening of Emeril Lagasse's sports book/restaurant. Private Party. Friend went back the next day and said it was horrible.
Food - We like to spend good money on one meal when we go. Last time was Strip Steak at Planet Hollywood (really liked my filet). We were supposed to go to carnevino, but ended up not going. We are heading back to watch the UFC fight in November so that will probably be where we eat. Ate a couple of buffets - comped a buffet at the Bellagio, and also ate at Planet Hollywood. Other than that, just ate food by the sportsbooks. Earl of Sandwich at Planet Hollywood which I like. It is a quizno's type place. And Snacks at the Bellagio which was awesome. Ate there quite a bit.
Hotels: Not impressed with the Bellagio. Seemed more geared towards older crowd (I am 32). I feel like I have outgrown Mandalay Bay and the frat atmosphere there, but am still too young for Bellagio. We stayed at Planet Hollywood the last day, and once again I was impressed with the room size. Actually had a fountain view, which was pretty cool. It was 70 bucks, and for those of you who are starwood members, Planet Hollywood is a Starwood Hotel, so you can use your points there. Crowd is more lively, great atmosphere.

Any clubs offer free cover up until a certain time or anything? Long story short, we had 15 people all set for bottle service at LAX for $100 a person for Saturday. A bunch backed out and we've got 6 people who at least want to check out the scene for a few hours. Any suggestions for short lines, cheaper cover, but decent atmosphere? 4 of the 6 of us are married couples so 'beauty factor' not so important. Someone mentioned Coyote Ugly above but that place always looked jammed full when I go by there......TIA...

Definitely will have to check out this thread a little more. Going there 3/10-3/14 for the 311 day concert/happenings. About 10-15 of us. My first time. Not a huge 311 fan anymore, but there's obviously other things to do including the Wailers show and we were lucky enough to get a skybox suite at Mandalay Bay.

We're doing a bachelor party during rounds 1/2 of MM. Still have not booked anything. Flights are expensive and rooms are nothing special yet. I was actually going to look again this morning.I suppose if you know exactly where you want to stay, book it. When they start popping up better deals than what you book at your hotel, just call and adjust your stay (re-book). This also assumes you are not using Priceline.

I'm headed to Vegas for new years, not by choice ( it's my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary) but I'm not complaining. I'm hoping the economy keeps it a bit mellower as néw years crowds there are just a head ache. I need to find a good party that won't break the bank for the wife and I.

Flight officially booked for Thurs March 18th and leaving on Mon March 22nd. That's the opening weekend of the NCAA tourny. Used airline miles since I have not seen the ticket prices come down in months, so the ticket cost me $10. Now just waiting for all the springtime deals for the casinos to start popping up.

Yeah I chose the 25k roundtrip with a layover route instead of 50k nonstop. A bunch of United flights popped up on Continental so after thinking about it a few days I pounced. Should be fine on the way there but layovers suck on the way home...I'm just glad the 2nd flight on the way home is less than an hour.Had comped rooms at harrahs. Not quite as nice a setup as Caesar's palace but it's a free room. Got the flight booked via miles (50kfor both ways nonstop

The main hotel at the new City Center (City Center), opening New Years Eve. Well, I am not sure when it is opening, City Center is getting rolled out piecemeal.I'll be interested to see how it goes. It should be said if you are staying at Aria, you will be center strip, but still a 10 minute walk to the strip. It's set pretty far back.

Will be going with few folks from work (fun guys). Looking to definitely make a bunch of bets but also looking for poker / nightlife. I've heard that nightlife is a swordfight during MM weekend. Not that big of a deal as I've got a GF but scenery is always nice.
Pointers for the books are welcome as well. I've heard you gotta show up at dawn or before to have a chance at seats/table. Buddy has mentioned ESPNZone but heard the lines can be hours long there as well.

As far as nightlife, hang back on that question. There's a bunch of new places opening in the next month, and the nightclub wars are beginning. XS at Encore is #1 right now. I'd also check and see if any pools open by then. A few might. I don't think a swordfight is a problem, at the right place. The door won't let it get like that. None of the books have huge seating. They will be packed. ESPN Zone is in NY/NY and the entrance is right next to the sports book. Terrible sports book, but gets the job done. I think it's worth calling to see if the accept reservations. The lines shouldn't matter, because if there's a line, why wait? Anyone in there isn't leaving till games are over, right? But if you can get a reservation, do it. Because even if you get a seat, it's uncomfortable, no service, etc.[icon] said:

The Paris opens up their theatre for the games, and it's very cool. Three movie size screens showing the games going on at that particular time.They server beer/food there too (food very limited, hot dogs, popcorn, that kind of thing), as well as take bets in that section. It's a great place to watch the games.

Yeah Yeah I know. 1st time was only for 2 days for a wedding. Went with the GF. Ended up not doing any clubs or anything. Stayed up all night for poker the first night. Toured Vegas the next morning afternoon. Did the wedding thing that evening. Went out drinking but ended up getting food poisoning and struggled through the 2nd night. Flew out the next day. 2nd time was on business for a tradeshow. Had 24 hours in town roughly. Flew in, hit the show. Then did burger bar at mandalay bay for dinner. Went out with the one guy who wasn't a lump. Hit Coyote Ugly for a bit, then ghost bar? (some inside/outside deck bar way up on a tower overlooking vegas)... then ended up at Seamless for an interesting finale for the evening. Missed the tradeshow the next AM and barely made my 3pm flight out of town[icon] said:

I went once for March Madness. It was fun, but I wouldn't necessarily do it again. It's spring break for many schools at that time, so you get a lot of the amateur hour, frat boy Wooo! guys in-town at the same time. It was standing room only as the sports books were packed to the ceiling, but it's cool to hear the roar of the crowd at the end of close games.

It's opening NYE but it's "opening" in 10 days. The casino is open now AFAIK. This is from talking to them on the phone about my trip in a few weeks. They were begging me to come. Knowing nothing of me than my name was offered 50 meal credit 50 game credit per day for a 100/night room. And all their rooms are like the Wynn rooms from what I gather.massraider said:
