Hrm. well if that's the case I'll be playing more Craps and Poker. I've only allotted a grand or so gambling budget per day so I'm not too keen on getting much bigger than a green chip game. We shall see though.
####, I wish that was my allottment! I've got only a bit more than that for the trip.Really relieved to see the Buckeyes and Orange with late Friday games! Didn't want to be on a plane Thursday for those...

Each year I use my tax return for a trip. Last year it was a week jeeping in Colorado. Year before that it was a week jeepin in Moab, UT. This year I'm taking a break from the extended jeep trips so that frees up the return for Vegas play money. Considering I'll be using GooRoo's picks for games I should turn a profit on Hoops. Poker should be profitable as well (last two casino sessions in Tunica I am +$1400 or so at 1/2 and 2/5NL). The hook is making sure I don't piss it all away on Blackjack/Craps/Table Games. Giving myself a reasonable budget at spending more time at Poker Tables than other tables should help with that.

I'd love to come back up... but would be happy coming back even to -1000. If I blow the whole 3.5k then so be it.

Care to share the hoops picks? $800 budget for the whole trip for me. :bag:

GooRoo gets cash for his picks so I can't really give em out in good conscience. Suffice to say if I'm willing to fork over my hard earned cash for them, they're good. I think he's running a special for March Madness. Shoot him a PM. He's a great guy. Tell him [icon] sent ya and maybe he'll hook ya up. :mellow:you guys should see Chet's budgets when he plays  I shot dice and played blackjack with him in tunica. He's like a mobile blackchip sprinkler system. ;)

We figure out a poker plan yet? I'll be arriving Friday about 7 PM (depending on dam traffic). Meeting a buddy then probably heading to the MGM for 1/2 sessions. Be cool to meet up Friday night and discuss some MM plays.

Im debating if this is a good idea but here we go...WOZ, me and my gal will be in laughlin this weekend. :goodposting: Let me know if youre going to be around. I can buy a free beer for anyone who puts me in their sig :lmao: :banned:
Say what??I think I'll be down Saturday or Friday night. You should let me know because a GB's band is playing in Bullhead City.
I live in Phoenix. We're only there 2 nights. Our goal is drinking and playing craps for 10-15 hours a day. What kind of music? I doubt we would leave, but maybe.we will be there tomorrow night.
How's the trip since Friday? :hi:

My poker is going to be random. I'll likely be getting in about 10-20 hours of poker over that 72 hour span I'm there, but I'm not 100% on when/where it will be. Friday I'll likely be mid/north strip. Thursday night is my south strip night. That said if the games are epic at MGM Grand / Hard Rock / Mandalay bay then I might be back down that way...depending on if/when assani is going to want to meet up.

Going to Vegas in 2 weeks for my GF birthday. There will be 20 of us (10 guys/10 girls) staying at Bally's (my friend got rooms for $230 total for Thurs-Sat, 4 adjoining rooms).

Since my GF B-Day is Friday I'm planning on doing a day spa/massage for her and then hopefully have a sit down dinner before we head to XS for the night.

Anyone have any recommendations for a spa/massage and a nice place to have dinner for possibly up to 20 college people (all have jobs) that would work with a starting point at Bally's and end up at XS?

The 10 guys also are planning to do bottle service that night and the girls have passes for free admission at XS, so we were wondering how easy would it be for the 10 girls to join us 10 guys at our booth?

Cool, I'll text or call you when I get in. Be fun to play some NL with you and Assani

A 20 person mixed guy/girl group in Vegas. Good luck with all that. Do you have people that really want to drop $1.50-$2/minute on a massage? They are all the same unless you want something a little "special".I have no idea, none, of a place that a party of 20 would really work out.

We did a mixed group of 6 guys/8 girls last year and had no problems. As long as we keep the ratio even we should be good to go.

Hrm so it's looking like my 12:40 flight out of Vegas Sunday afternoon is oversold. SINCE I'M OUT THERE I might as well take the Voucher and stay the extra night (pretty sure harrahs would extend my comp stay)? RIGHT?

Well.. I don't know the voucher will be offered yet but as the sweet spot on a non-stop flight LAS>MEM I've gotta think with it already being oversold (called Delta Reservations) that there will be something on the table.

Considering going ahead and letting work know I may be taking another day and going ahead and extending my Harrahs stay a day in anticipation...

Anyone have experience with flight bumps out of LAS? how do they usually handle them? I gotta think the Sunday after March Madness opening weekend is going to be a madhouse and I've got to think most folks won't have the flexibility I'll have...

The airport should be a circus, I know that much. I think most flights will be overbooked.

Well.. I got my room extended thru Monday gratis as expected. Now I've just got to hope they throw some vouchers out there and be first in line for one. Figure I'll just not check out of the hotel and IF I don't get bumped just fly out and they'll figure it out the next day.

If I DO get bumped, just jump in a cab and head back up to my room and drop my stuff off

Hrm... possibly FOUR nights in vegas now... could be interesting....

Hell ya 4 nights! They should give you a voucher...that's how they get people to change their plans.

Yep. I've got a $300 voucher sitting in my safe from a previous bump this January. Goal is to get another one this trip so the GF and I can both fly out free later this year (and get rooms comped again ideally). Been tinkering with the budget to rework it for 4 nights. Should be good to go. :)

My idea of hell is going to vegas with a bunch of women. So I got nothing I guess. :hifive:

Just worked out a "barter" with a guy from over at 2P2.

I now have a room at Mandalay Bay Fri/Sat/Sun night plus $200 in MGM Food credit and 50% off on overages.

In exchange I'm throwing him $200 and a set of golf iron shafts (value $400ish - zero cost to me) :bag:

Considering the room is $250+/night for their base level room (not sure what i'm getting) I'm stoked. Nice upgrade from the harrahs spot I was at and already staying in a 750GR Suite at MB on thursday night.

I'll be keeping the Harrahs room as a mid strip crash pad (unless someone here wants/needs it).

Bobcat, how much were you guys paying for your place at Harrahs?

4 nights 250/person. I'd cancel if I could...didn't book thru Harrah's unfortunately. Dang. Thanks though.Probably would be south strip myself but a few of the guys had a hard on for a Venetian suite this time. Usually stay at the Bay/Luxor/MGM.

Damn dude. I'd give you the Room for $200 for all four nights total. I think my total cost for the thing with all the BS is $80 for the 4 nights. At that price it's worth holding onto if for no other reason than to have a midstrip nap/####/whatever spot since I'll be hangin at Osheas/Bills a bit. That said, if anyone wants it they can have it for that. Never done south strip before. Eager to check it out.

Saturday cabana idea has been tossed around. You can't place bets poolside anywhere yet can you?

Plans are firming up. Now booked at Mandalay Bay for all 4 nights. Got a nice $200-300 in food credit that I plan on taking advantage of.

Thursday Night : Strip Steak (comped)

Friday AM : House Of Blues (late breakfast - Comped)

Friday Afternoon : Stripburger (late lunch)

Friday Evening : Mix : Canceling - Maybe Hitting Ellis Island Instead

Saturday Lunch : Unsure yet

Saturday afernoon : Blondies for a couple hours, followed by Rhumbar Viewing Party

Saturday Evening : Sage (dinner - comped)

Should work out well. I think we're going to be watching some of the games Friday at Planet Hollywood as they have a big setup for the tourney and we are likely going to be fairly mid-strip that day anyway.

Yeah, sorry about heading out so soon. I thought the group I was with was heading to Loser's Lounge so we'd meet back up with you but my gf went from 10-2 quickly and wanted to head back and I was in agreement after a bad blackjack run. Thanks for the beer and let me know when you're up next time!ETA: Wait, you went all the way back to Phoenix?

Yeah I think Thurs/Sun were comped and Fri/Sat were $39/night. I booked a month or two ago and I've got some decent play status with HET. It's much better status now though (after 2 more trips to tunica). Starting April 1st I can get up to 4 nights free at Caesars, Paris, Pretty much any HET property. Certainly not big baller status like Chet/Cav but it works for my purposes

Thinking about getting a crew together for the start of the World Cup. Arrival 10 June, stay for 3 nights and get to watch a lot of soccer.
I'm going out the 11th with 3 or 4 friends. Staying until the 15th. Gonna be watching and betting on many matches.
Anyone have any good suggestions for this weekend in June?Somewhere between 4 and 8 guys. Not looking to spend big bucks, but want a roomy place. Will be mostly betting on and watching NBA playoffs and World Cup matches and probably look to play in one largish poker tourney. Oh, and we will probably want to golf one day.I have been to Vegas once, for about 3 hours a few years back. I was driving to the west coast and stopped to spend a day, but it was 4000 degrees out and I had 2 dogs with me and didnt want to deal with the heat. Thus, the 3 hour visit. So, I am a complete newbie and I am not sure I trust a few of the other guys to hook us up properly.I have slugged through a lot of the thread, but man there is info overload.

I'd recommend the Rio or the Hard Rock. Both are off the strip so costs are down and I have been very pleased with their rooms and services - good bang for your buck and suites are attainable at the cheap. Decent restaurants at both places as well. Both have quick shuttles to the strip and you'll have plenty of time if you're their for 8 days. Rio's sportsbook is also good with comping drinks so long as you are betting and tipping. Hard Rock is a younger crowd but it's new and I just really like the feel to it.

Cool man, may hit you up on that. I'll text you closer to Friday or something when my plans get finalized. Sounds like you're booked up pretty tightly but we should definitely try to play some 1-2 or 1-3 on Sat. I'll be with some lowkey college buddies so I'm pretty flexible. .

No idea.. sorry GB. I will say this. Maybe look at VegasCasinoInfo.com and check out the property maps of all the places with good pools (that have cabanas) and maybe find someone with a layout that has the Sportsbook nearby the pool?

:lmao: Sorry.. best Idea I've got.

Anyone have any recommendations for a spa/massage and a nice place to have dinner for possibly up to 20 college people (all have jobs) that would work with a starting point at Bally's and end up at XS?The 10 guys also are planning to do bottle service that night and the girls have passes for free admission at XS, so we were wondering how easy would it be for the 10 girls to join us 10 guys at our booth?
Help?
Dinner? I'd call around. There are a ton of solid restaurants around there. Call the good places in the Wynn / Encore and see if any would work a private room deal for a party of 20. Regarding girls joining your table. I have never been to XS but typically part of buying a table is getting to bring girls up to it. IF you guys are wanting your girls to join you, I don't see that being an issue. One thing I'd suggest is make sure your table is large enough to accomodate your group. You'll need to talk to your host about that. If you're worried about them factoring the 10 girls in and doubling your bottle minimum, then I'd just say you want to make sure the guys all have room to bring a lady up. Shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks. Care to drop a few suggestions especially in relation to our location. Our hotel is at Bally's and we're looking to party at XS that night so restaurants near by would be great.

Also has anyone be to the Qua Spa @ Ceasers? Care to share your thoughts/tips?Thanks.
One of the best. The spa at Caesar's has a great rep. Also for dinner, Koi at Planet Hollywood is a nice choice, if you like sushi. Not crazy expensive, and close to everything.

Oh, and we will probably want to golf one day.

I have been to Vegas once, for about 3 hours a few years back. I was driving to the west coast and stopped to spend a day, but it was 4000 degrees out and I had 2 dogs with me and didnt want to deal with the heat. Thus, the 3 hour visit. So, I am a complete newbie and I am not sure I trust a few of the other guys to hook us up properly.

I have slugged through a lot of the thread, but man there is info overload.
There's a pretty good deal I found on a room at THE Hotel at Mandalay Bay. You get a 725 sq. ft. suite. See details here: http://www.mandalaybay.com/accommodations/thTHEsuite.aspxhttps://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookinge...amp;code=PSPR10

Details:

Arriving: Thu Jun 10, 2010 2 Guests

Departing: Sun Jun 13, 2010

1 THE Suite 3 nights $385.97

Taxes: $46.32

Total: $432.29

So, avg price per nights is about $145. I stayed in a similar setup in the Palazo during March Madness last year and we had 3-5 guys in there each night and it wasn't a problem. The extra 1/2 bathroom is critical here...

My wife and I always stay at The Hotel....great room. 2 bathrooms is great. I think they might all be one king bed though.

Heading to the airport now...icon, give me a call if there's a sudden interest in a poker tourney or anything. GL all betting on the NCAA games....

Looks like 1 king or 2 queens

So I take it you like the place? I'm hesitant to stay so far south on the strip. I'd much prefer a place mid-strip, but this deal looks very very good. Also, it's 2 queens or 1 king.

TheHotel and Mandalay are my favorite places. I really don't consider it that difficult either to get around from there. Just tack the tram to Excalibur and walk from there (but then again, I'm a fan of simply just walking up and don't the strip so I don't mind the 20-30 min walk).

Thanks. Care to drop a few suggestions especially in relation to our location. Our hotel is at Bally's and we're looking to party at XS that night so restaurants near by would be great.
There's a french steakhouse in Paris (right next door to Bally's that is good and decently priced. It's called Mon Ami Gabi or something like that. They make a good steak (not the greatest in Vegas but it's still very good) and have great desserts. They have seating outdoors that overlooks the fountain an the Bellagio but it may be too warm to do that in June. Also, the brunch buffet at Bally's is one of my favorites. Definitely check that out!
