Went there during my Bach party trip - great experience. Bed couches , total lounge options in stadiumSetting plus a bunch of recliner like chairs and normal tables too. Some private / semi private rooms but many only have one tv which is fine for NFL playoffs but not ideal for a regular Multi game day.

Stayed at the Orleans this trip. Great value for $35/night, rooms very clean and large. Fairly priced breakfast buffet (pretty good too) $7, very good Kings of Comedy show (vip tix for $12), and nice pool and gym. Free shuttle to the strip ran quite often. Late night you seem to get the ghettobird crew going to Gold Coast. Can be entertaining. Only complaints are subpar pillows, and the Orleans casino is the smokiest place I've been too. Seems like its mostly old folks there, but for the price, its not bad at all.
DimSum at the Venetian Asia Noodles was very good. Patti seriously hooked us up with tickets to O, best seats in the house for $100 off. Section 103, row M, in the middle. I highly recommend her, she is great to work with. Ate at (?)Mon Ami Gabi (?), the outside restaraunt at Paris afterwards. Service was crap, but food (especially escargot) was good and had a few good bottles of wine. View of Bellagio water show was great...along with people watching.

Heading to Cosmo weekend of Dec 9th. I checked it out a few weeks back when staying at Aria and love the Vibe. Can walk to Center City, PH, MGM, Crystals and Bellagio which is a nice experience for the once unwalkable Vegas.Really looking forward to hitting up Marquee with my wife (she's already on some crazy workout regimen for the weekend

Going to be in Las Vegas for work next Thursday - Saturday at the MGM Signature. I don't usually stay down at that end (normally at the Wynn) so my experience level is rather thin. I get in around 5p on Thursday and am looking for a good place for dinner and then some light gambling (VP, BJ and craps). Suggestions for dinner in that area? I'm on an expense report so want to stick to something under $100 total. I'm always down for a good steak, not really into seafood when there are better options, plus I live in Miami so that's abundant if I am looking.
How far is the Signature (walking time) from the strip and/or MGM casino? On a map it doesn't look too bad but I know that in Vegas, "just down the block" means at least a 20-25 minute walk.

I think it all depends on the DJ. You should check out the Bond Bar inside of the Cosmo. Anyone can get in and it's a good place to have a few cocktails, listen to some beats and do some good people watching.

Heading out for trip #7(?) 12/3 - 12/6 and doing the LV Half Marathon on Sunday Night.
We'll be staying at the Venetian for the first time and looking forward to it. Can't wait to be able to roll right down to Bouchon for breakfast without leaving my hotel.
Will hit some of the standards but look forward to checking out:
The Chandelier Bar and the Book & Stage at Cosmopolitan
Freemont Street East Bars - Haven't been downtown in a looong time and seems to be a growing buzz over the new bars down there.
Thinking of checking out Absinthe but not there for long and with the 1/2 marathon already taking up a good chunk of time not sure I want to invest more in a show while we could be out bar and casino hopping.
Anything else new or interesting in the last year since I've been there worth checking out?

As others have said, it is expensive to go there. $100 min per person is what I remember it being too, but it might even be more for the playoffs in January.

The bar on top of the Mandarin Hotel is really really nice if you are looking for low-key. Usually has live jazz music and an incredible view of the strip. Also usually not crowded because most don't know it is there.

I was in Cosmo the night of Pacquiao fight. The line for Marquee was insane: 300 people deep and about 280 of 'em were female 21-25 in tight dresses. If I wasn't a short, balding 40-something father... well, there's that. So I went back to the blackjack tables and then cried myself to sleep that night.

I've noticed that clubs seem to forget who spends the money. I totally understand letting the woman in to attract dudes, but seems like the are almost getting shutout ESPECIALLY without a table. The last time I went with the wife the ratio seemed almost too much in the female direction. I guess they know what they are doing but I'm glad I'm not having to wait in that type of line..

The bars seemed cool the only one we went to was Coins cause the others were not open yet. It was a fun place old school video games or you can get a booth buy a bucket of beers and play as many game as you want on a Wii, PS3, XBOX 360, Sega or NintendoNot a bad beer selection either.If you do would appreciate a report back before I drag my wife and friends down there.
I wish I could of check out more but buy the time we got out of coins we had to head out.
While we were down at Freemont I seen they now have zip lines that you can ride above the street looked like a blast. I plan to try it out next time.

Looking for suggestions for places to grab dinner the three nights we're there this weekend (Sat, Sun, Mon). Usually when I go its for a poker trip where we just grab something quick, this time I'm travelling with the wife and another couple and looking to step it up a bit.
Looking for anything from a splurge dinner (around $100-$150 a piece) to laid back interesting (one of a kind to Vegas) places on the strip or downtown. We'll be staying at Venetian and heard they have a few good places so may try one of those at least one night. Also want to hit up the bars and zip line downtown but don't know if there are any good dining options to hit down there as a starting point.
Think I already have a solid plan for breakfasts and lunches but open to any suggestions there too:
Lunches:
- Mon Ami Gabi in Paris

Been a very long time since I was at the Venetian (loved the room we were in there) but I can't remember the name of the restaurant, looking at the site I think it was Zeffirino or Valention but I'm not 100% sure. I know it was really good.During the summer we ate at Jean Georges Steakhouse at Aria, expensive but it was real good, helped we had comps

Used Patty on Nov 18th for tickets to KA. Man she gave us the hookup, dead center and about 10 rows back from the front for $230 all in (face value was over $300.) Quick trip this time, did a few things I don't normally like gamble at Mandalay which I really enjoyed. Also went to the Ice Bar in Mandalay, pretty fun with a big group of us. Expensive but worth it in my opinion.
Place must have changed compared to the older posts in this thread, but we did dinner/dancing at Lavo in the Palazzo and cannot say enough bad things about that place. Average food for really high prices, horrible wait (an hour past our reservation), bad service. You get free entry into the club with dinner, but they make you get stamped, go back outside the restaurant and wait in the VIP line despite there being a staircase inside the restaurant, granted it wasn't much of a wait since it was the VIP line. HUGE, non-dinner crowd line to get in that backed up outside (not fun for those in line in late November.) Small club, cramped and the dj the night we were there was terrible. Played about 45 seconds of a song on average before switching. Just had an amazingly bad, all around experience there. :(

I am staying with my wife (she just misses the cut above as she turned 26, but will be in a damn tight dress if I have any say in the matter - and as a balding almost 40 something shortie, that's my best bet)at the Cosmo - anyone know if that will help get us in?Also, what other hot places should we check out, specifically for dancing (she's into top 40 dance crap)? I'd like to know so I can see if there's anyone with pull I know (or meet) to help us get in.

Perfect. This really helps staying at the place. This is what we have done and it's worked in the past. After you check in and settled. Call the front desk or concierge. Some places you can't call concierge directly. Ask some questions about whatever, then say you were interested in Marquee. Ask about dress code, hours whatever. Usually by this time they will ask if you want to be on the guest list, if not ask about it. The only "problem" usually is you have to get there by 11pm to make sure you get in.You get in the VIP line, tell them you are on the Concierge list, and you get in. We have don this for every club and it's worked every time, never had to pay a cover or anything. If it's just you and the wife it should not be an issue, although some of the hosts can be doooshy. We had done this with just us and a party of 4.This worked for us
I'm sure you can call and just directly ask to be on the list but we try to "play dumb" and not know what is going on, etc. This is the onyl way my wife can drag me to a club. Oh be sure to have your wife call.Now if you are to drop $$$ on a table then all of that is not needed. Hope it works out

Here are pics from the club at Aria, tough to find a freaking spot without a table It was ok but I too am old. It may depend what "level you stay" and how much the concierge can/will do. For example at the Venetian - we stayed in a suite and the concierge booked us dinner reservations, club vip lists, and could get us show tickets but not sure if they were any better than us doing it ourselves. Anyway when we stayed there we got in TAO, Tryst, Studio 54 and another club all on the VIP list with no issues.Thanks. Any luck regarding the concierge helping get nice tix at other places? It really depends on if they are Affiliated with that hotel (not sure if Cosmo is part of MGM like Aria, etc) Anyway it can't hurt to ask them, they were successful for us in the past. We did have to wait in a small line at TAO but got in free.
This last time we stayed at Aria and got int the same as I just told you.
SO I really don't know all the ins and out but just what worked for us

I highly recommend "Cut", the Wolfgang Puck Steakhouse between Palazzo and the Venetian. It is expensive, but unbelievable steaks, great music (a lot of classic Led Zeppelin) and great service.

Anyone have experience with the really expensive places (or their somewhat less expensive "cafe" counterparts" for a great / special dinner? One issue I have in Vegas is the overpriced food as compared to what I can get here in NY. For example, someone mentioned Jean Georges steakhouse - as noted, quite expensive, but I was way underwhelmed (a number of far better steaks, not to say dry aged steaks, here, or I'd rather even hit the Palm Steakhouse for taste regardless of value)?

I've eaten at Picasso and Julian Serrano. Wife and I loved the small plates at Julian Serrano. The calamari small plate was awesome, each one we had really was great. Would definitely recommend, I was very pleasantly surprised.Picasso is one of those very pricey, special occasion places. You'll never get twice as a good a meal as the price dictates, but that's always the case. All-in with wine pairing your talking $500 for two. Food was fantastic and so was the wine pairing. Never was a scallops fan but Picasso made me a believer. A nice quiet and romantic setting set next to the Bellagio fountain. I'd do it again but only if you are looking for this sort of setting & meal, because if you are not you will be disappointed due to the price.Oh, and Patti with a great hookup to O. She's awesome.

I've said it about 10 times in this thread already, but Mix at the top of THE Hotel is spectacular - great food and view. The braised beef is one of the best things I've ever eaten.I have eaten dinner at Bouchon and it was also excellent. They had some fancy scallop special, and they were the best scallops by far that I've ever had.
