A guy walked right in front of me while I was sitting in the book watching the Broncos game Sunday night, and $200 worth of slips fell out of his pocket. I chased after him and gave it back.

:karma:

Went to the casino when I was in college. As we were wAlking in, guy in front of me drops a c note on the ground. I pick it up and have it back to him. Surely the gambling gods would be with me.

I was gone in like 10 minutes

Maybe (likely) I'm odd, but if random folks drop cash/chips like that I always tell them. If guy was being a dickmitten and straight abandoned cash in a machine and never came back... F him. Selective morality perhaps.

I was throwing dice with my brother in Tunica many years ago and an old codger came over to our table with a wall of blacks and purples. We were on a crazy run of hitting 7's to pay the pass line on come out rolls. We told the guy and he scoffed... throwing a wad of cash against us. Brother threw... 7..... guy lost. He scowled and gathered up his chips and moved to table behind us. We looked over and he left $300 or so (3-4 blacks)... which was more than our Roll at the time. Still went over, tapped his shoulder to let him know he left some behind. He was still ornery above it but I wouldn't have felt right taking that money.

Now, if he was threatening us, groping on our women, and generally acting like a DB... and completely walked away? well...

He left. That's no different than dropping money on the floor really. If you guys didn't cash it out, the next person would have.
Totally wrong. It's theft. And if that guy contacts security, they got you dead to rights on video surveillance and you're arrested.
It's abandoned. You can't leave money in a machine and claim that machine for hours. Wasn't left at a table.

Was in Vegas for the O.

Town was packed, most hotels had cab waiting lines of 30mins.

Ate at STK in Cosmo. One of the best meals ever. Amazing steak tartar.

Saw absinthe and it was awesome. Any seat in the house is a winner.

Stayed at Trop, disappointed. Would not return.

So heading out this weekend. Plan to watch a lot of football bet often and drink heavy. Where is the best place to watch the games?

It doesn't need to be a sports book as I plan to make my bets Saturday night.

any recommendations on car companies to pick up 5 people from the airport on Friday afternoon (arriving at 4:50pm)

I've had good experiences with Presidential Limo. Nice range of vehicle sizes (we've used stretch, super stretch, and stretch escalade limos with them)... pricing is fair... and they budget time for a quick package store stop to grab booze/mixers on the way to the hotel.

Legasse's stadium is highly regarded.

We usually hit the package store in the airport. Guess it's not convenient to all arrivals tho.

In Nevada, money abandoned in a machine becomes property of the Casino. Its theft.

Less than a month away from our 15 year wedding anniversary Vegas trip.

Can't wait!

Craps are calling us......coming out!!!

Was there last week with my wife, Sunday to Thursday. Was in SoCal for six days before driving to LV so I wasn't sure how much energy we'd have left, but Vegas has a way of breathing life back into you. Keep in mind all these recommendations are on a trip with the spouse, very different from a boys weekend.

We stayed at the Venetian, which I would definitely recommend to couples. Lotta places to shop if that's your thing, plenty of good restaurants, bars, etc. I just really loved the room. And I don't have a lot of casino hotel experience, but there were a crap ton of pools whether you wanted Olympic, hot tub, shaded, heated, you name it.

Took Icon's advice and used the service he was talking about awhile back. Can't say enough good things about it. Vip4freelv.com hooked it up. Got the limo treatment, skipped the line and cover at 1Oak, and they were right on time and took care of us well. Also took Ike's advice to hit up Craftsteak at MGM (do yourself a favor and shoot the locks off your wallet for the Wagyu but save room for the monkey bread), as well as brunch at Mon Ami Gabi (Ricky Bobby wouldn't admit it, but I will. I...love...crepes) right across from the Bellagio fountains. Tao was also awesome (it's in the Venetian).

Went to see Mystere which was cool but nothing I need to do again. Based on reviews, seems like we shoulda gone to see Absinthe but never really gave it much thought when we were there.

Last night in town, we again used the limo service to hit up Spearmint Rhino. Maybe not on every couples' to-do list, but she said she wasn't gonna go all the way to Vegas and not at least check it out. Who am I to argue? We both agreed that there was way too much plastic on display for our liking, but we finally found a winner and the wife quickly became very friendly with "Jessica". Might be my biggest recommendation of the week (and yes I buried the lead).

If you ever get divorced, tell your wife I said what's up.

looking for the single best place/book to watch 1 football game. We've got our tradition of watching all the sat/sun games at the LVH b/c of their setup; but are open to suggestions for the Sunday night game. Atmosphere/food/easy drink access all should be considered

Just got back from a three-day trip and still recovering. Did the Exotic Racing experience (drove a Lambo Gallardo) and highly recommend it. It was a lot of fun.

P.S. The ridealong with the professional driver drifting in the Vette was a blast.

Yep. They're trying to discourage younger locals from getting oiled up and causing trouble there. Unknown if it's actually working. Piles of plastic cups at every casino exit.

First I've heard of this: Under the new city laws, it’s illegal to drink alcohol directly from a can or bottle outdoors in the Fremont Street Experience.

From what I gather, you can still walk around with a cup? If I leave the casino with a beer, I assume they'll have cups to pour them in?
Sounds a lot like the New Orleans laws.. at least in the quarter. If its not the law it seems to be strongly encouraged by piles of cups at exits of bars.

Thanks. Avicii is the DJ, don't know if that is typical or whether that makes it extra crowded.
Avicii's been ill, has cancelled everything on his schedule. link
Yep, now it's ZEDD. Ticket prices actually went up.
ZEDD > AVICII
This place was pretty good. High end and the people there weren't too pretentious. Zedd was very good. Place was rockin.

The bouncers outside in the main casino area were total #######s though. This exchange happened:

guy1 to bouncer: "can you tell us where to go if we have tickets?"

bouncer: "do you want me to help you?"

guy1 (not hearing): "what?"

bouncer (turns his back to him): "OK. this guy doesn't want my help". (to guy2) "you! do you want my help?"

guy2: "uh... yeah, sure"

One of the guys made a pitstop at the bathroom (this is all inside Encore but near the line) and another bouncer told people they couldn't wait anywhere near the bathroom or they'd have to leave the casino immediately. sheesh

The bartenders inside were cool though.

Maybe I'm turning into an old miser, maybe it was just because it was "fight weekend", but MAN when did Vegas get so dang expensive? $8.65 for a bottle of Miller Lite at one of those mid-casino "bars" that you can sit and play video poker at. I ordered one and the dude told me what I owed and I said "yeah I just need one for now, thanks", to which I got a

I was passing through en route from Minnesota back to Cali and spent the night (night before last Mayweather fight) across from the MGM (and spent a few hours gaming and eating/drinking there).

I was shocked at the prices. I used to go out every September for WCOFF (may it rest in peace) and just don't remember having to drop 9 bucks on a bottle of beer or $50 for a friggin burger, fries and couple of beers (MGM's "brew pub").

I was considering going to FPPC (or whatever it's acronymed) in '15, but I'm going to have to research and spend my money wiser than I did when I was in my 30's with a fat wallet. I just can't afford friggin' bottle services this and VIP line that. Hell, I almost walked out over a 9 dollar beer. :kicksrock:

Rant over. <_<

Sit down and play video poker slowly until he brings you a free drink, give him a buck, then cash out and walk away. Nobody will care.

I *thought* they doled out free drinks for video poker players, but maybe not at the MGM. Maybe not on fight weekend.

I spent my first hour playing 3-card poker and had a few "freebies". I always tip the waitress a 5 or 10 chip and say "keep 'em comin'" as soon as I sit and get my first. Then a buck chip every time she comes back with one.

But no such luck with the video poker. The guy next to me said he was up about $2,000 that day alone on video poker. I'm sure HE was getting free drinks. Bassturd.

heading out there Jan 10-12, staying at the Palazzo for the NFL playoff divisional round games. I haven't been to Vegas in 2 years so I need to catch up the latest in here.

I'm out there this weekend for work. I'm too old for clubs, but I'm not above checking out the line for a club. Any good people watching places (restaurant/bar) for doing my own Halloween costume contest judging?

This looks like the way to go for saturday night although since we will already be at the Venetian/Palazzo I'm wondering if Tao would be just as good. Most of our group is 35-42 so I'm curious if there are any club reccomendations for the slightly older crowd.
Have had several friends use this service now with great success. Actually turned FBG Mod Michael Brown to them and he had a great time recently. Definitely check them out. Not sure if they do anything for Saturday night.

35-42 is fine in Vegas clubs. Dress right, loosen up, and have a good time.

question, is this open bar for everyone or just girls?

only ten days away now.

We are staying at the venetian. looking forward to some time on that end of the strip.First trip in a long time I wont be doing any hiking.

Anyone know what's going on Jan.6ish? I was looking at 2 nights, Jan. 6&7, but prices are insane for a Tuesday and Wednesday. I can't find anything, but something must be going on.

Just got back from a weekend trip with the guys. Big thumbs up for the new O'Sheas, $10 tables, great atmosphere , fast drinks at the tables. Live band near the tables.

Everyone! Helps to have girls in your group but isn't necessary at all. With group of all guys you may end up with small cover for some events. Just depends really.
