Didn't see the game but saw from teh play by play when I looked he had 4 targets. One was deep down the middle others were listed as short.

Also VD had a shot at about a 25 yd seam pass, but didn't reach for it because he was scared of the hit. First time, as a 49er fan, I've lost faith in Davis as a player.

Need to grab Dallas Clark off waivers and drop this bum but can't drop him til tomorrow. Think of dropping Cassel or Schaub now just to assure I get Clark and can free myself of this VD. Which QB would you drop?

I believe he had a target where he was open in the endzone that was over his head. Still, it's very discouraging that he managed 0 when they threw for 300+.

I continue to bite on Davis (I was at Maryland when he played there, making it especially hard to resist). At the beginning of the season it looked like TE was the deepest it's ever been in drafts...now I'm looking around not seeing many TE's consistently producing.

I watched this one pretty closely as I needed a LOT from VD (and it was a heckuva game). I've been pretty skeptical of the cumulative VD ranking all preseason/thus far 250 but tried to be patient and open minded, but I saw WAY more O-lineman out of Davis today than I did stud pass catching, most talented receiver, blah, blah, blah on the Niners. I'm not waiting another week to see how Davis pans out and I expect FBG's ranking of him to plummet or someone is clearly not seeing 'the way it is', period.Martz warned us alright and I applaud all who listened. Davis is a blocker.

BS. Martz never said that at all. He certainly did say he wanted Davis to stay home plenty to block though and like the thick headed, stubborn individual I am, I thought he was blowing smoke. I'll also note that while I certainly make my own opinions every year/every week, our own FBG's guys have had Davis ranked very high leading up to and through this week.Now, will I continue to be thick-headed even if David ranks him in the top say 7 TEs on the 250F next week? No.

You are correct sir...I write here to accept my medicine. I did not learn my lesson and I am a slow learner. I suck. But I do have a team named Ed Hoculi's Guns...and my QB is Jay Cutler Still Davis will be off my team come tuesday
