Veto trade? (1 Viewer)

Don't Noonan

Footballguy
Owners of team A and B are cousins in a 12 team ppr league. Team B is in his first year of fantasy football.

Team B offers Zac Stacy for Nick Foles yesterday and team A accepts. Here are the quick rosters for each:

A -
QB - Rodgers, Foles
RB - P Thomas, Stewart, F Jackson, Cunningham

B -
QB - Romo, RG3
RB - Lacy, L Bell, Stacy, Sproles, Asiata

Should this trade be vetoed?

I'm not even sure which side is supposed to be getting the better side.

Seriously, usually these are kinda funny, but you're just wasting people's time.

No. I only commish one league and only give myself final say over veteos, mainly so there arn't any. It would have to be egregious cheating. Most "lopsided" trades just seem that way based off of market and opinion. This one isn't even close.

No. Don't see the problem here. It's pretty even based on each team's needs. If you veto this, you shouldn't be a commish.

Seems like a very logical trade where each team is filling a need. Really why on earth would anyone have issue with this?

These questions come up every year and the answer is always the same. Unless there is OBVIOUS collusion you never veto a trade. Owners should have the right to manage their team as they seem fit, not as you or anyone else see's fit. But the other owners do have the right to talk as much #### about the person making the bad trade as possible. These are the joys of fantasy football.

Sorry guys. I am not the commish of this league. I am Team A owner getting Foles. It is a league with friends and the commish is threatening to veto because he feels I am taking advantage of my cousin. I told him I would post on here to see results. Don't know if he has read the thread yet. Appreciate all the responses

The only thing the league should vote on is a new commissioner.

That is a good trade for both teams. Fills each of their needs and no one is getting fleeced. The thing is even when someone is getting fleeced, don't veto. Just keep telling your commissioner every time he thinks about vetoing a trade, no. The answer is no. There are very few circumstances where he should veto a trade, and based on the question above, he is not qualified to make that determination.

*fixed

why would this be vetoed and why would it be up to the commissioner to unilaterally tell teams how to manage their roosters by vetoing the trade without a vote? but back to the original question, what is wrong with this trade?

You realize rg3 is hurt and romo sucks. Are you an idiot?

Edit: ok your commish is the idiot

Commish is good friend of mine and I am 80 percent sure he is just trying to piss me off. I told him I would post on here after he kept questioning trade. It didn't matter that I drafted Stacy 39th and my cousin drafted Foles 52nd overall. Trade helps both of us.

Footballguys Top 200 Forward (with standard FBG scoring) has Foles at #50 with a value of 18.8, and Stacy at #55 with a value of 18.5. They almost couldn't be closer. Any commissioner who would even think about vetoing this trade should be beaten with a tube sock full of quarters.

How is this even a question? Good trade, let it go and stop thinking you are smarter than your league mates.

Freaking busy-body commissioners...yeesh.

OMG what an ### raping. You should be ashamed. Yes it should be vetoed and consider yourself lucky the commish didn't banish you from the league.

The hell is wrong with some people.

Trades should never be vetoed unless there is clear evidence of cheating, or possibly situations where someone brand new to fantasy sports is getting abused due to lack of knowledge/experience (ie. the typical '3 quarters for a dollar' trades).

This one clearly fits neither scenario so vetoing it would be asinine. If I was in a league where that trade was vetoed I would leave the league.

No questions asked they are colluding. They decided a ####ty deal involving QB10 and RB19 would go unnoticed. These #######s have prob been plotting this since before the noob joined the league :hot: I would kick them both out, put Ray Rice and AP on their rosters, lock their rosters, and then call the police on these scumbags.

Glad you caught this

I think the commissioner is getting hung up on the "cousins" part. People assume that family members in the same league are more likely to conspire and help each other out.

If anything, it's the opposite. Nobody wants to lose family bragging rights AND hear about it at every family gathering. My experience has been that these owners want to win the league-- and if they can't do that, they want to finish ahead of their family member.

The only exceptions would be if a father is letting his newbie kid in the league or one family member doesn't care about the league while the other is really into it. Then it MIGHT be an issue. But in a normal league where both family members care about winning, you're not likely to see anything resembling collusion.

First, Who is the commish to say how a team should run their team?

Second, that is an even trade if I ever seen one and from the consensus above many agree.

Third, isnt there a better forum for this?

Fourth, just because commish dont like a trade does not mean they should veto it.

Fifth, I am worried for the commish if you/he/her have to ask questions like this.
